😂😂 how does she even shave or she just decided that it was an impossible task to do alone and finally deicided that embracing her gorillaness was the logical thing to do
@@RWRogers In Africa they did. There it was believed that apes were once humans who left civilization because they didn't want to work, transforming into njenas (gorillas) and tshiegos (chimpanzees). The Europeans thought the gorilla was a mythical creature for some time, until a skull was sent abroad in 1847. The mountain gorilla was officially discovered later in 1902, though a skeleton was found in 1898.
Okay, Lesley Stahl. I've always liked your segments since forever.Your *loving* attitude about these lovely fellow beings, totally nailed why I've thought so highly of you. Thanks for sharing that loving attitude & knowledge with us. We truly *must* protect these dear relatives of ours.
Lady, my sister told me about this piece, I don't have a TV...stopped watching years ago...I read alot... But, I found this on UA-cam... Had too... From all of us here in this ever changing world...many thanks!!!
Thanks Leslie and 60 minutes for reminding us that we are just another species sharing the planet. It’s not ours alone….but we must preserve it with all our might for future generations to enjoy
Yes and rwanda is relocating communities living nearby to expand their habitat which will benefit both the communities and the animals. The communities get new well planned modern settlements and jobs as number of tourists grow and the Government gives them 10% of all annual revenues directly to improve communities leaving near touristic places around the country. The gorillas will have more space to enjoy their life with less contact with humans and reduce wildlife-Human conflict.
You rock, Leslie! Been on my bucket list since first reading about these “people” (let’s call them what they are!) in National Geographic as a kid. On my way in 2 years for the trip of my lifetime at age 60. From there to meet Jane’s chimps in Africa and 2 years later to Indonesia to commune with my soulmates, the orangutans.
No, Ms. Stahl, we don't 'all go to zoos'... Some of us call them 'prisons', & thus, passionately avoid them like the plague, & hope they close down... As for the creatures they 'save', needless to say, that act of kindness & compassion does not necessitate imprisoning other sentient beings.
Leslie, good job !And keep up the training , so you can stay healthy and fit for a longtime, hopefully; This is the creation OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD , ALLAH (SWT/سبحانه وتعالى).
"And they groom, well we don't groom"... YES WE DO. That's human vanity. We not only groom, in our own way, our human lives revolve around vanity, which is grooming in its original forum. We are the masters of grooming.
Well gorillas are real obviously and Bigfoot is not with all this technology they can find bin laden but they can't find a so-called Bigfoot I think it's time for you to let that go
why dont they send a young correspondent so we dont have to watch all the extra nonsense. im old as well but I dont appreciate her not being able to walk and needs a helper etc etc . plenty of good you correspondents.
I went and my group had to go up, i didnt Have the strengh therefor the company Place me in a diferente group claser to their headquarters. It was much easier 700 hundred dóllars for the experience.
If you've ever seen one up close it's really amazing how human their features are
My sister's back has more hair but you're right. I would get them mixed up.
😂😂 how does she even shave or she just decided that it was an impossible task to do alone and finally deicided that embracing her gorillaness was the logical thing to do
They one in the wild would they attack us human if we go in peace? Just asking

What a moving report. Hopefully, we all can be a bit more mindful of our planet earth. 🌍
Fidel was such a sweet guy. Kudos for helping out. 👍
"These people." Beautiful statement.
I don't want to be on this planet. When gorilla go extinct. I whole heartedly love them

Hope Dianne Fossey is looking down on this. She would be proud. Yet tell us so much more needs to be done💕
When I was a kid, I always wanted to be Dianne Fossey.
"How important it is that these people, these people, I called them people" - Lesley Stahl at 4:07 mark

Thanks Leslie and 60 minutes for reminding us that we are just another species sharing the planet. It’s not ours alone….but we must preserve it with all our might for future generations to enjoy
She wouldn’t hesitate to sacrifice an African man to survive in that jungle, don’t play yourself.
Good for you!! You are amazing and an inspiration. Thank you for sharing and if there is anymore public video to share, please tell us where!!
Can’t build the gorilla population without giving them their space back.
I'm saying

@@justicejoycetv I will!
Yes, we are so closely related to gorillas! It must have fascinating to see them up close!!
Thank you so much for this AMAZING story. And thank you for allowing comment --- 60 Minutes Australia BANS COMMENTS !!!!!!!!!
Lesley you rock! Love this
It aired last night on 60 minutes but the segment was different than this. Where do we find what aired on 60 minutes on Nov 28?
🥲🥲 Thank you for this story.
Just BEAUTIFUL!!
I've been supporting Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International for decades. We must ensure their survival. Thanks for doing your part, Leslie!
You ARE SO LUCKY!!
Well done!
Keep them safe they are beautiful
I wish one day I can get there with my family
People like you could fund programs and bring them to light...
They build rocket ships just like we build rocket ships.
Finally something besides the orange clown show.
This is a great report thanks for this impact you are contributing to the conservation of these mountain gorillas

I ❤️ conservation

Dave mccunt trophy 🏆 ahhhh
Lovely story!!!
All mothers close to their babies we made in the image of God not animals
I love Gorillas 💖
Beautiful!
Does someone really think we are from apes or gorillas? lmao
Humans are primates. Modern primates evolved from a common ancestor.
Eu amo gorilas🥰❤❤❤❤

They made a movie about this: King Kong?
Why I can't see these humans faces no mo
Fantastic.
Buy a federal and state duck stamp, help conserve wetlands.
We need to stay out of their habitats. We need to leave them to themselves and stay away.
Awesome
My favorite animal.
How do people eat bush meat? Its cannibalism
I will work for 60 minutes
Hm maybe they wanted to be left alone? I get we have to protect them, but this is so abrasive. This is definitely a young family group.
Did you pick up some Omnicrom on the way home.
Leslie owes Trump a big Apology.
Where is Leslie?
Grillas be trippin
Zoo is a jail for animals
Ol' Leslie needs to stick to interviewing Gorillas instead of false political hit job interviews with President Trump!

They don't attack humans??
It’s in rare cases when they’re afraid you are going to attack them. But even then you seat down to submit to them, and they leave.
Yeah sure you went there beacause of the gorillas;) But yea this was the right thing to do.
If gorillas are aware of being photographed and try to avoid it.. explains why Bigfoot are hard to photograph..
Well gorillas are real obviously and Bigfoot is not with all this technology they can find bin laden but they can't find a so-called Bigfoot I think it's time for you to let that go
Bigfoot is a myth. There can’t be just one, it has to be a sustainable population. If there was we would have proof.
@@mikewilliams1217 yeah I agree most people know that, that's just a lonely man walking around in a suit trying to get some attention. Most of us.
Wearing a mask 8000 feet up...doing her part to normalize masks...the gorillas should be filming us
why dont they send a young correspondent so we dont have to watch all the extra nonsense. im old as well but I dont appreciate her not being able to walk and needs a helper etc etc . plenty of good you correspondents.
I don’t see humans because I know we didn’t originate from them otherwise there would be hybrids of us documented and there isn’t any.
I love Fidel❤️
Dian Fossey
Great subject but when I was watching I couldn’t get the thought of Leslie stahl being patient zero of the omnicron variant out of my mind💀
Seems a little racist of Leslie.
Yeah she didn't fool me either
❤

Or how about u stay away from their habitat? Lol
