@@arnolt2590 some people that worked with her said she was unstable, but I understand why, I mean, she really lived for those gorillas and wanted their best no matter what people would think of her.
I could not stop crying after watch Gorillas in the Mist. What an amazing, fearless, and powerful woman and movie. It's hard to even imagine someone getting up close with Gorillas like she did. So very sad that she was killed but she will never be forgotten!
You will always be remembered and you will forever be in our hearts Dian you fought a good fight and we shall also keep your legacy shining for generation to come
What she did was magnitude of greatness toward a majestic endangered species animal. The African Mountain Gorillas. I love the film wonderfully presented in the silver screen and the performance of Sigourney Weaver as Dian Fosey was worthy the Oscar.
Dian Fossey was actually bludgeoned to death in her own bed. Many people suspect that it was poachers who were scared that all the attention she was bringing to conservation would stop their business.
Beatrice G.C. Really? They killed her? Wtf Would I find this on the Internet anywhere? Is there anything about her death on UA-cam? So many question marks lol
I'm 12 years old and have been inspired by Dian Fossey and hope that I will be able to go out to africa one day and help the wonderful gorillas. You do not even no how much gorillas mean to me and you will see me at your camp one day, I promise. Most people say I may never be able to get out to the gorillas but i will tell you this, I will do anything to get out to the gorillas.
She has been in Rwanda rest of her life and made our country known all over the world due to how she took care of mountain Gorillas, her nick name was in kinyarwanda named Nyiramacibiri, she was finally found dead in his tent killed as history described, she is our legend also created Karisoke institution of research ,hotels and museum are now available for her legacy, she left early while the world need her mostly, let's all of protect wild life and take care to mountain gorillas against poachers etc...
@camillerwanda5823 Has the murderer ever been found and jailed? Are there any detectives working on the case? Has it been found out who committed the crime ?
Dian Fossey went to Lowell High School in San Francisco. Several years later, a student named Joyce Matsumo went to Lowell High School. Joyce won a baby gorilla naming contest at the San Francisco Zoo in 1971, by suggesting the name Hanabiko (that means “fireworks child” in Japanese) for the baby, who was born on July 4. Eventually, her name was shortened to Koko. 🥰
@emmarose423 4 Koko the gorilla was lucky in a sense. She was an experiment to determine how much an animal can learn to communicate with humans. From what I best understand, Koko actually was going to be sent to a laboratory, or at least it was one of the things considered after the experiment was over but Francine Patterson who taught Koko sign language and worked with Koko decided to adopt her. Koko probably lived a happy life, as much as possible for a captive gorilla but she was still taken from her true environment.
The only human being who understands gorillas and saved them from traps and poachers. When she started her study gorilla where 2digit in number because of her at present there are thousands. I admire you my lady😢😢😭😭
Majestic, mysterious, and curious creatures, she did great work bringing greater understanding of them! So, is the full 13 minutes available somewhere?
I am from Russia and we were asked in English to answer the question about this video " what is this video about? what did you like?". Can you please help me answer?
Diane Fossey she studied the gorillas in the african jungle in Rwanda,or República democratica de Congo in África, Diane Fossey she studied the gorillas in África she was based on the character Jane Porter from Disney's Tarzán.
There is to be a program on Nat. Geo Wild celebrating the 50th Anniversary of her death. I haven't seen the exact date yet. Anyone know when it will be shown? I started following gorillas because of Dian and her love for them. I was 30 at the time.
Flowerfantastic1 50th? Anniversary of her death? This is 2018 it will be 33years of the Anniversary of her death. Maybe it will be 50th Anniversary when she first started studying Mountain Gorillas.
I have the first edition of her book.. They showed Digit!! 😊 😥 😔 😟.. but he had a Son! Thank you Dian.. Just goes to show us, we can help any being, no matter our education..🙏
on a internet article standing not only good things about here so you can read zitat: Others describe her as an uncontrolled and increasingly isolated and bitter woman who snubbed her colleagues and treated Africans with condescension.
are you surprised? She was insanely dedicated and paid with her life for bravery and honour of helping our dear relatives, gorillas. She understood the ecosystem better than anyone, was laser focused on gorillas.
A Great Woman. I wish she would have awakened before her attackers entered her hut in Rwanda. She was armed with a 9 mm and other weapons. She would have dealt with her murderers and poachers.
Watching this video from natgeo about a real life heroin who sacrificed everything to document and save a species in danger of extinction, and then seeing a video on the sidebar about a transgender transformation also from natgeo, really is sad. How did we get here??
One of the greatest humans to grace this planet. She not only saved gorillas but gave us humans a great lesson in love.
Earth is flat_____________________
