I have noticed using velcro rollers. I am breaking my ends. Getting them out of my hair. True they do the best set for my straight fine hair. Is there a secret product that I'm missing to help style my hair and get them out of my hair with less pulling?
Hi, I’m also a hairstylist with fine, stick-straight hair that feels like corn silk when I have no products in. People always think I have such thick hair when it’s styled out, but I always tell them, “it’s just an illusion of products.” 😀 Just some info of what my favorite volumizing products are: Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Plus, Redken Volume Maximizer pump spray, (both before blow drying on towel dried hair) and Big Sexy Hair Powder Play (after drying, before final styling hairspray.) I do have to use a round brush when drying, and curling iron here and there afterwards. My hairstyle is like Lisa Rinna’s. I also like a bit of “Bed Head Manipulator” for extra texture throughout and on ends. Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine hairspray. I hope these products might help someone else with naturally super- straight, flat hair. 😊
I've never heard anyone mention that hot tools collapse volume, but you're right!! I'm flashing back to all the times I've tried sooo hard to have loose waves. Starting with painstakingly volumized hair, pulling out the curling iron, and ending up with sad limp stringy hair! Thank you! My life makes more sense now😅😆
Best UA-camr I've found giving hacks for fine hair! Most are the same ones repeated but yours are so much more in depth and you actually have fine, thin hair so we know it's worth doing 🙂
I blow dry my hair with a round brush. Before it is totally dry, I use Velcro rollers. I leave them in an hour or more. When I take the rollers out, my hair has body & bounce. The do stays for 2 to 3 days if the humidity is low. I use an anti frizz cream, as well to keep my hair smooth. I LOVE VELCRO ROLLERS.
I agree that a scalp exfoliate is very beneficial especially if using dry shampoo on a regular basis. I’ve only used a diy exfoliate of sugar and honey. Seemed to work great!
Hi! I just got diagnosed with Alopecia and your channel has been a HUGE source of inspiration and information to me. Thank you so very much for the great content!
Hello Hello!! I have thin, straight hair. I usually roll my hair in 2.5 inch velcro rollers when my hair in damp, and let it air dry- for volume. Before it’s fully dry, I’ll blow dry the whole area and let it cool. But no matter how careful I am, velcro rollers always give me an issue when taking them out. I roll gently, not to tight, etc. I always see magnetic rollers on kinkier hair that’s being rolled in a wet set. Those don’t give me issue like velcro rollers, but are a super hard for me to work with- with my thin, straight hair falling out. Any advice? Thx!!
I'm loving your channel. Will try the scalp scrub and the Velcro rollers. I have extremely fine hair and it's THIN as well. No one knows how to cut and style. Looking forward to watching more from you. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your videos! I showed my stylist the video you did on how to cut the "bob" style for thin hair. This has been the best decision I have made for my hair! I absolutely love the style! I'm using the KMS products you had previously mentioned as well. I'm so thankful I found your channel. I love your presentation and your content has much value! Thank you!
Kathy you are so welcome! This comment really made my day! My hair right now is that SAME exact haircut except longer. Doesn't it make fine hair look SUPER THICK? It's just amazing right? I am thankful you found the channel as well and very happy to have you as apart of my UA-cam community.
I started using thickening spray at the end of last year. Best decision ever. I use bumble & bumble volumizing spray go big plumping treatment. For some reason their regular volumizing spray doesn’t really do a lot & it smells like chemicals.
I love the shampoo/conditioner hack. I didn’t know how important it was to scrub sections of hair with shampoo especially the back and nape. Thank you! Love your videos!
Velcro rollers may not work for everyone. I have fine hair and when I’ve tried them my hair gets all tangled and it’s impossible to get the rollers out without tearing the hair. I’m not sure what the difference may be? I’ve tried them more than once without success.
Great tips! I need to pull out my Velcro rollers and try a scalp scrub. I have a hard time with 2nd, much less 3rd day hair. I always get weird parts and flat places in my hair. What is your routine for this?
I also have a huge issue with 2nd and 3rd day hair....I have such fine hair that it looks terrible after I sleep. I am going to make a video on some ideas for that. Great suggestion. Thank you so much for your comment.
@@GlamGirlGabi I love your videos and tips. Any for me - I am almost 70 with fine hair that is becoming very thin due to the medication I have to be on (autoimmune diseases). I have tried everything except shaving it off and wearing wigs/and or scarves. Help. I have scalp issues, also but haven't found a dermatologist who can help.
Rinsing conditioner out of hair without getting it on the scalp is not easy with layers, unless you tip the head forward and rinse down. I find this works for me so i rinse off after getting out of the shower and rinsing over the bath. Love your videos 👋.
Did you use any styling products prior blowdrying your hair? And how do you like this revlon dryer? How about heat protectant, which ones are good for fine hair? Some are too heavy for fine hair
Great tips! Thank you. My hair is thin and silky soft. A real nightmare. So many people speak about those self-grip rollers, but several say the rollers now and then can be very difficult to get off your hair. Perhaps I ought to try.
Thank you. Such great tips. My 63 year old hair is getting so thin. It's dead straight & fine. I'm wondering whether getting it highlighted would give more volume 🤔
Question: my hair is thick, stick straight AND fine, which means any lift, wave or curl I attempt lasts about 7 seconds. My hair is also extremely dry, and I only wash 2 times a week. Rarely use heat to dry or curl. I love my long hair, and I do have layers cut into it… any other tips?
I really enjoyed your video Iam 59 years old I have think long wavy hair I will love to try all your products let’s see what happens thank you from Cali texas
I want to try them all. I love the way you have the soft waves in your hair. For me to get this kind of look I have to braid my hair when it's damp, and then let it dry. It works for me......Thank you...
I’ve always thought of trying to do shampoo on the scalp and conditioner on the ends at the same time but was worried that the conditioner would be waisted as the shampoo runs down and washes it away. I like your idea! What type of shampoo would you recommend when doing this technique on dry lifted wavy hair? Thank you
My understanding is that the conditioner sort of penetrates the open cuticles of the hair shaft if you leave it on for a few minutes, and then any extra time it's on there, it won't add extra sleekness or shine or protection or whatever you want out of that specific conditioner. So really, it's done it's job by then and won't be wasted at all by shampooing! The shampoo WILL get the residue off, but it won't strip the cuticle. Maybe something very harsh like a clarifying shampoo, maybe, but generally I don't think so. I hope this helped, and good luck on your hair journey!
May I ask what colour highlights or foils do you have in this video? I have dark brown hair with greys coming through and love your colour foils and would like to ask my hairdresser if they could use the same. Thank you 😊🙏🏼
I don't know if you'll read this but first. I've heard of a scalp scrub. I'm gonna order one tonight. Hoping it will help my hair. It's super fine and I gave myself a perm about six months back...it was short around face and got burnt. Felt like rope. I've cut it twice, wanting it to be even but the part closest to face won't grow. Hoping the scrub w will help. I derma roll and take biotin. Help!!!!
I have started using Un-do-goo shampoo about 2-3 times a week. I think it has made a difference in helping me to keep volume in my style. I have used "dust" on my hair for years. It really helps. I have been using "Big Sexy Hair's Powder Play Lite." It comes in a shaker bottle or a 'spray' version. I love the spray, as it's re-fillable, and you don't end up using too much in one spot. Thanks again!
Thank you for the awesome tips! I have very fine thin hair that is prone to get static/fly away. Then I can't do anything with it. How do I prevent that?
Thank you thank you!!!!! People who do Tutorials always say they have thin fine hair. But I look at them and they don’t But I can see that you do and I have a huge problem with thin fine hair. My hair gets tangled another after showering and it’s hard to brush through what’s a good product I could use? And thank you thank you thank you again for posting.
Omg Gabi, I feel like you made this video just for me! I’m going to try the Velcro rollers after blow drying for sure. I’ve tried that gritty powder before but the feel of it creeps me out 😁. Thank you, this is a good, crisp, useful video!!! And oh, I love the Briogeo charcoal scalp scrub, it does help with removing buildup and smells fantastic too!
Thank you for these hacks! Some I have heard of or have done, but others I'm going to try! Root powder is my FAVE! And I'm going try incorporating velcro rollers.
I stopped using conditioner in the shower many many years ago. I just shampoo and then apply leave-in conditioner to the length of my hair, not the scalp. Softens my hair without weighing it down and saves a ton of time in the shower.
I have tried another brand of scalp scrub and I definitely got more volume in my hair from using it. However, I color my hair and it took some of the color out, so I don’t use it anymore. Is the scalp scrub you use color safe? thx
thanks for letting us into your shower, I think I have to work at getting the shampoo out more and that scalp scrub is a great idea, never heard of it before. Thanks!
I'm an older woman and Gabi is the first one to address my issues and provide great tips and tricks. So many stylists and so much wasted time and money. Thank you Gabi!
Since I have had gray hair my hair has been very flat at the roots, especially at the part. i think do to the hair texture now being more coarse. i will try the rollers. Thanks!!❤️
It’s very interesting to check your links and see the difference in prices twice as much😮 or even more! By the way it’s on Amazon! So what does it mean? If you say it’s not sponsored and give the link for a product that cost much much cheaper if I don’t use your link😂
I have tried Velcro rollers many times in the past, but I find that they stick to my hair so much that it becomes extremely difficult to remove them without tearing sections of my hair. You did not seem to have this problem at all; your rollers came off smoothly without any hairs sticking to the tiny bristles. Other than shampoo and conditioner, I generally never put any extra products in my hair as my hair curls very easily. But if there is some product out there that helps the hair not to stick impossibly to the rollers, I would certainly consider it.
I have thin hair. Not overly thin. You couldn't tell on the first day I wash my hair but then after I go to sleep and wake up in the morning my hair losses that body that it has overnight. Thank you for another great video. What was the size of your curling wand?
Your the best!! Going to buy products too. My hair is your length and when it gets longer, the weight causes it to lay very flat. Thanks for information.
Max Factor used to have a thickening lotion that worked well but then it was discontinued. Same happened to Got2B's thickening powder. These days I find that products containing wax and clay create enough stiffness but tend to leave a noticeable film on my hair---because my baby fine texture requires the use of more than the recommended amount of product.
I always wanted to know how much conditioner should be rinsed out? I have very fine hair with high water pressure therefore no problem rinsing it out. If I rinse out all the conditioner is it doing anything for the hair?
I can't begin to tell you how helpful this video was. I recently got a haircut after THREE years of just wearing it up. (and even crazier was 7 before that)! I decided to keep the length this time. But it has been so long I had no clue what was out there now product wise. Was actually just in Ulta yesterday looking for things. I knew I definitely needed something for volume for sure. And funny too, actually saw root "powder" like you mentioned. Lol. (years ago just always used mousse). Will be implementing these tips & will more than likely also pick up some root powder. Tyvm!! ❤️
Oh that is wonderful to hear that this was helpful! I hope you’re loving your new haircut! Pick up some volume spray or volume mouse and use it before blow drying. You will be shocked as to how much more lift you will get in your hair. Thanks for watching!
Root powder is the best invention. I've been using it for years. There is root lift mousse for curly hair that my sister tried by she still prefers the powder.
Please do a video on how you use the one to curl your hair! Great video! I have fine hair and it’s really similar to yours but I can’t get it to curl that way with a wand. Please show us how you did it!
Thanks for all this info!! I just ordered the powder and am excited to try it! Also I’m going to try using conditioner first before shampoo! I just subscribed to your channel!
I’m on my way to the store to buy Velcro rollers and the magic lift powder .Which roller dryer are you using to dry and smooth prefer that to my round brush and hairdryer 🌺🇬🇧
Omgoodness thank you for the hot tools tip. I have such body after blow drying then after using my curling iron on very high temps its like smooths it out way too much and I lose everything! Im gonna lower the temp and see what happens. 😁
I love your content. I know that when you have a recommendation it's going to be so good! Thank you so much for doing these videos and taking the time to find these great products and hacks. I know it takes time. 💕🙏
You're 100% correct about hot tools deflating volume! I got rid of all my flat irons because, regardless of how I used it, my hair recalled being contained between two flat plates - it falls flat and completely straight. Ugh. One of my favorite volumizers is the Kristin Ess braiding powder. How do you keep you hair from showing "parts" from cooling in Velcro rollers? Thank you!!
I have lots of hair but it is fine and the easiest way to get volume are hot rollers.Just bought my second Conair hot roller machine.Once hair is cooled I remove rollers and use Ellenet hair spray or if staying in lightly twist hair into sections aand pile on top of my head with scrunching. Then have curls for 3 days!
@@SunFlower-xp6hw LOL!! I knew there was some reason for keeping that Conair hot roller set in my closet all these years! With the pandemic and working at home for 2 years, I couldn’t even be bothered with the Velcro rollers - which work very well - much less blowouts or hot rollers. Now I am almost a year past needing a haircut and color, just wash and twist my hair up most days I have to go to the office, and it’s pathetic. I am going to take the blunt cut video in to my stylist, have my color done, and see if I can have nice hair again. So glad I discovered this channel! I honestly don’t even remember how to use a hot tool, and I probably have 20 of them, different kinds.
Oh my goodness what great ideas I would love to try the route booster and definitely do my conditioner first and then the shampoo because I do have fine hair and the top gets flat even though it is shorter than the sides! Love all your advice! Can’t wait to try next time Iwash my hair😀
I've been turning the heat down on my flat iron thanks to you. Only 20 degrees lower but hopefully it helps, I have thick wavy hair so I always thought hotter was better.
You should only use as much heat as you need to get the result that you want. Good for you for experimenting with that! Dial it down because you will still get an effect with significantly less damage.
I avoid all styling products, condition intensely, shampoo every 2 days, avoid all heat and cold blow-dry gently with a ceramic roller-brush with just 1 pump of Moroccan oil. After, I use additional Moroccan oil at the ends only. I also have a high-protein diet. My fine hair thanks me by being 'happier', thicker and healthier. As someone in her mid-forties, my hair has more bounce and thickness than most thirty year olds. I learnt all of the above the hard way.
I personally wouldn't use a scrub if you have a lot of weakness in the crown from lightener. I would focus on using bond repairing products like Olaplex and avoid too much heat and excessive styling as that could cause more breakage long term as well. Once your hair is in a better place, you can start doing more to it. I am about to make a video about this so stay tuned for that.
I love the Amika one that I am using here. It is called the Chameleon and comes with interchangeable barrels. It is pricey but well worth it because you get SO MANY different looks from the varying barrel sizes.
I would probably try the Velcro rollers. Are used to use them all the time when I was in high school which was in 1979 to 82 something like that. I always forget about them the right after I dry my hair and then they don’t hold as well and the front roller closer to my nose I guess she would say always flops down. Thank you for your video

Your the best!! Going to buy products too. My hair is your length and when it gets longer, the weight causes it to lay very flat. Thanks for information.
What’s the best hair cut for very, very thin and fine hair?
Love all your hair hacks!
Ojon volume mouse does similar and not waxy
Thank oyu so much for these Hacks amazing
I am going to try conditioner first then shampoo.
Velcro rollers scare me! I used them once and they got so tangled in my hair I thought I was going to have to CUT them out! What did I do wrong?!
Root powder is the best invention. I've been using it for years. There is root lift mousse for curly hair that my sister tried by she still prefers the powder.
Should any of these products be avoided if I don’t wash my hair every day?
Don’t use root powder. It’s gritty and doesn’t wear very well overnight.
Please do a video on how you use the one to curl your hair! Great video! I have fine hair and it’s really similar to yours but I can’t get it to curl that way with a wand. Please show us how you did it!
Im in the process of editing that video! I will post it in a few days! Turn your notifications on so you don’t miss it.
@@GlamGirlGabi subscribing and doing that now 😉
Wow such great tips. Thank you so much. What size curling wand do you recommend for hair your length or just slightly longer? Thank you
Great video. I’m going to try some of these!
Love your videos!! I also love that "lipstick bracelet"!!! Can you tell me where I can purchase it?!
Thanks for all this info!! I just ordered the powder and am excited to try it! Also I’m going to try using conditioner first before shampoo! I just subscribed to your channel!
This was helpful. Thank you. What blowdring brush did you use?
I really like your hacks. I have been looking for help with my fine hair. Need a cut that is easy to style 1 handed. I've had a stroke.
All the best to you.
Your hair looks gorgeous straight with that slight curl. Very classy
I put a little baking soda in my shampoo, works really well.
This is a wonderful video, even for grandma’s!
I love the powder for grit but I worry if it will suffocate my hair follicles. Any advice Gabi?
I love your content. I know that when you have a recommendation it's going to be so good! Thank you so much for doing these videos and taking the time to find these great products and hacks. I know it takes time. 💕🙏
Love love love your hair advice 🥰
What blow dryer do you use? Thx!
Oh my goodness what great ideas I would love to try the route booster and definitely do my conditioner first and then the shampoo because I do have fine hair and the top gets flat even though it is shorter than the sides! Love all your advice! Can’t wait to try next time Iwash my hair😀
Your hair is beautiful and I love these tips.
Just found you today and you are wonderful! Thx so much for your expertise and easy advice
You’re so welcome! I’m so happy that you are enjoying the content. Thanks for taking the time to leave me some feedback.
What kind of a curling iron are you using?
Hi, do you have any advice for those of us with a double crown and fine hair?
Could you make a scalp scrub yourself?
Great tips! I have super fine hair. I am going to try velcro rollers. What kind of hairdryer do you use? Also, I love your dress!
Your tips are brilliant! I'm very impressed🖒
Just find this video Gaby! Awesome tips!! Thanks 😊
Are scalp scrubs safe for over processed hair? My hair is particularly weak around the crown from bleach.
All great suggestions! What curling wand do you recommend?
I love the Amika one that I am using here. It is called the Chameleon and comes with interchangeable barrels. It is pricey but well worth it because you get SO MANY different looks from the varying barrel sizes.
The most surprising idea is a scalp scrub (vs a clarifying shampoo.) The solution I will most likely try is Velcro rollers.
Thank you for another great video ❤️.
I would probably try the Velcro rollers. Are used to use them all the time when I was in high school which was in 1979 to 82 something like that. I always forget about them the right after I dry my hair and then they don’t hold as well and the front roller closer to my nose I guess she would say always flops down. Thank you for your video
