Collectives selling school team products like balls, helmets, that you can “buy” something at a super inflated price, that then launders the NIL as a corporation sponcer.

Paying men and women equal is idiotic. The split should be based on the revenue coming into the athletic department. If the sport is a negative to the athletic dept, they get less money than football. Equal opportunity does not mean equal money…. Never has.

One school outside of the P4 that actually is in the positive with all the sports reported together for the 2022/23 year was Boise State. They made a big profit from football. Some P4 schools wound up being negative.

If payments are divided unevenly and dispersed to non revenue sports, sports will be dropped that don’t create revenue. I have only ever seen a college football and basketball games. I did go to a club hockey game once.

Well... who is from a POWER conference and who is not? Not trying to be mean but just saying that he who has the power makes the rules. NIL will still be paying players even after the rev distribution kicks in. NIL is different then "pay for play" which is what the rev sharing is. NIL will pay for tweets, likes, and other sponsorship acts. Maybe that is what some of the AD's are speaking about. Pay for play = rev sharing. Player marketing acts = NIL.

This is the end of charade and I love it. Corruption is in full swing. The NFL model is waiting to be put in place. Corporations will buy entire universities and sponsor them. It'll be the B1G and SEC. The rest will become FCS fodder

If the misfire 12 cant afford to play as a member of the g8, then bye. Sorry, but we are moving to the P2 after the ACC raid!!!

I do think the networks have it wrong. The money should be spread around to schools even in the G5 who had much success on the field should get more money than a 1-11 Kansas team.

@@haroldflashman4687 These are not small schools that you claim them to be, Many of these G5 schools have more than 20,000 students which is more than some in the P4. The idea is out with the old and in with the new schools. Boise State made a profit from football from ticket sales, media rights and all that.

@@Spitfirethedragon so what? The TV networks aren’t charities! They will pay money to schools that they know will make them money, if Boise State was a valuable media commodity they would be in a power conference. There’s a reason why WSU/OSU were left out!

lol no it’s not. It’s just putting small schools and their sense of entitlement in their proper place. Big programs have been hobbled long enough! Big programs have subsidized small programs far too long! It’s about time the Big programs used their wealth and their alumni wealth for their own benefit, instead of the benefit of Podunk State U!

The Big 10 has won 2 football national championships in the last 20 years. The SEC 15, ACC 3.....
The Big 10 gets built up by the talking heads every year and rarely produce as expected....

they need to establish a revenue salary cap model that allows coaches to value and positions players to his own, but a min spend to be in the club, that is universal min salaries per position. there is a max, and a nasty luxury tax that starts to get insane if you stay in the red for too many years in a row. that is designed to be so punitive, you cannot stay at the upper echelons for any one position, it has to have direct coach accountability but give them leeway things they truly want they allowing for the rich to go overboard for something they want
. but no NIL stuff ever and it runs through the school and audited. if you get caught doing, one time ban, forge it into the light allow the rich and willing to spend they will no matter what😊
and its all published with full transparency at least after in happened, including all your offers and limit bidding/offers to a long term, acceptable average

Regarding the $22m, you should add the NIL money to it, through the collectives.
