Why is anyone surprised? Good ole kyle, as a coach he has guaranteed ute fans 3-7 losses per year for the last fifteen years! 15!!! Last 5 bowl games with 0 wins. Utes should be in the mtn west with that record.
It’s a total joke BYU not in the polls. College football was perfect during the BCS era. Total backslide in legitimacy in favor of marketing and advertisements.
I mean Clemson looks like an absolute threat to win the ACC and if SMU beats Louisville this week they're suddenly a favorite to make the acc championship game and we know they can't keep up with Georgia so the ACC is the same just Miami hasn't lost yet. The B1G is the same but they have Ohio State. The sec really is dominant this year with 4 teams that could win any other conference.
It was coach Whittingham who chose to start the freshman QB, Wilson. Cam has been cleared to play for the last two games. It's obvious that coach Whitt has a new shiny toy in Isaac Wilson. So much so, that he's actually obsessed with his new toy and selected him twice in games that Rising should have started. Rising might be at 95%, but his 95% is still better than Wilson's 100%. In the two seasons that Rising has started, he's won two conference championships. Rising is a winner. This is his last year. It's shameful to see coach Whitt not select him. You could see the frustration on Cam's face at the beginning of the game with AZ, that he wasn't selected to start. I blame coach Whittingham for that loss. He needs to just retire already and let coach Scally take over. There's no reason that we should have lost that game, and Rising of all people knows it.
Also a lot of this is on Ludwig. Ludwig is terrible. He does not know how to adjust or mix things up. And why did he go away from the big thing that was working, the run? Now this year does seem like a down year for the big 12 as a whole especially since Utah doesn't have cam rising but I can remember their rise bowl against Penn State a few years ago and they were dominating before he got hurt and Penn State came all the way back for the win. The problem with the big 12 isn't that no one is good because the best team in the big 12 even when it wasn't Oklahoma or Texas is always capable of beating teams in the top 10 it's that no one is good enough to compete with the real big dogs of CFB aka Georgia, bama, and Ohio State. I think that the hate persists because the Big 12 is the only power conference without a playoff championship. That matters because you have teams from other conferences with better playoff records than the 1-6 Big 12.
True but the acc still only has Clemson that's won a playoff game and FSU guy killed by Oregon who got killed by Ohio State. There's really not that much of a difference between the ACC and the big 12
So what? The SEC poached the one regular contender (OU) and managed to get a Big 12 also-ran (Texas) at a time when the stars happened to align for them. That's not the Big 12's fault, and all the league can do is the best it can. The Big 12 doesn't have an Alabama or Georgia, but it is deeper than the other P4 leagues which means the league champion is going to have a loss or two. It is what it is, and Kurtz feeling defensive about it doesn't help anyone.
The Big 12 has to have schools step up and become capable of beating teams like Georgia in playoff games. I'm a huge Big 12 fan. But none of these coaches are doing that. It's not the programs aren't good enough. It's not the schools aren't brands. It's none of these coaches are good enough to beat Ryan Day or Kirby Smart. It's no time for the what you don't have anymore. Those days are done. You want to be relevant, be relevant. You have schools like Baylor holding on to a coach that won't ever get Baylor back to top 5. Gundy isn't serious. Whittinham isn't good enough. None of them. Having a playoff spot won't last too long if these schools don't stand on their own and become good enough to win. I don't think the conference is really getting it. Chaos is ok. But looking like crap isn't. If Big 12 schools aren't serious about being a big boy conference they need to be clear about that now. You cannot have coaches losing games looking like crap talking about everyone will lose a game so we're ok. The goal for the Big 12 is not to get a playoff spot. The goal of the Big 12 is to do something with their playoff spot besides show up. If that isn't the goal. The conference is done. Unless every AD and coach is fired and replaced by people who are serious about winning.
It galls me to say this as a BYU fan, but Whittingham and Utah beat Saban and Alabama in the Cotton Bowl in 2009 and finished undefeated. He's a great coach, but probably gonna retire soon. They would been been a serious contender with a healthy Rising. Now I need to go shower as I feel filthy for posting this.
Mike Gundy has lost his motivation and doesn't want to put in the effort to win. He defends terrible assistant coaches and no effort in recruiting. His teams are inconsistent and getting worse. Oh well, hoops is around the corner.

Even Oregon looks suspect to me still and Miami clearly had the potential to be worse than Virginia tech on any given Saturday I'm sure they could lose a game to some big 12 teams. @@quinton9514 well they will be playing a top 5 team which I agreed they can't beat without lucky. Utah fan...you're smug. The mighty fall when they least expect it. David beat the giant, again
Wildcat fan. Not a single Utah fan would tell you we are a top tier team with our FRESHMAN back up quarterback playing. We are all pissed about rising not playing but give me a break about beating us when both years Rising hasn’t been playing. We’d smoke you if we had any QB production like we should
@@Rsadidit Ifs and buts.......
Who cares? Big 12 can’t control others impressions/perceptions.
Byu won
I think that the hate persists because the Big 12 is the only power conference without a playoff championship. That matters because you have teams from other conferences with better playoff records than the 1-6 Big 12.
Nailed it.
🎯
The big 12 has been in playoff 7x? Sounds completely made up
Dump Rising. The dude has only won 2 PAC championships. Dump him? Shades of Oklahoma thinking!
I respect John, but is this going to turn into the Big 12 grievance channel?
Kennedy wins ig12
Well said 👍
It galls me to say this as a BYU fan, but Whittingham and Utah beat Saban and Alabama in the Cotton Bowl in 2009 and finished undefeated. He's a great coach, but probably gonna retire soon. They would been been a serious contender with a healthy Rising. Now I need to go shower as I feel filthy for posting this.
How do they get more serious? There aren’t a line of elite top 10 coaches just begging to be hired
@@kevinwoodward8546 It will be sad that BYU will defeat Whittingham in his final years. I will feel a little bad.
@@John-ne4fq 💰💰💰💰💰
Mike Gundy has lost his motivation and doesn't want to put in the effort to win. He defends terrible assistant coaches and no effort in recruiting. His teams are inconsistent and getting worse. Oh well, hoops is around the corner.

WTF you even talking about? Dumb statement.
Who gives a poop about KState?
reality is coming to boulder in 2 weeks
What reality would that be another one dimensional running team with a terrible pass defense
Yea Colorado gets ranked with a blow out. KSU sucks on the road.
I think it’s fair to say that the big 12 lost any chance of credibility after OU and Texas left.
I'm a hater of the b12 vloggers not the conference. This is a complete joke you acting like you know something about college football.
There’s not one team in the big 12 that can beat anyone in the top 10.
Eh Missouri and Penn State are in the top 10 and so is Michigan. Even Oregon looks suspect to me still and Miami clearly had the potential to be worse than Virginia tech on any given Saturday I'm sure they could lose a game to some big 12 teams. It's not best of 7 in CFB so it could happen. Now inside the top 5 I completely agree with you
@@wesleyowens4089 nope. The only reason big 12 will get a team in the playoffs is bc they have an auto bid. They won’t win a playoff game.
@@quinton9514 well they will be playing a top 5 team which I agreed they can't beat without lucky. The 4 seed which is what the big 12 will most likely have will play the 5 seed unless they implode and lose to the go5 team in the first round. The top 5 is Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Georgia, so yes the big 12 probably won't a game but who in the ACC do you think could beat one of those teams? The B1G is 1 team conference again like they were better harbaugh showed up at Michigan. The sec is just clearly the best and it's only worse now that they have Texas
@@wesleyowens4089 acc is trash too
Big 12 doesn’t deserve anything. We are not on big 10 sec level plain and simple. Need to make a statement in the playoffs this year
Big 10 isn't that good.
@@RedGreen1246 neither is the SEC outside of 3 possibly 4 teams. Big 10 is definitely Ohio State or bust imo
Yes most conferences aren't looking like recent years past.
YOU goʻt Texas Tech perched up near the top of the B12 RIGHT NOW!!!, Be honest John, how many of you pundits predicted that preseason? ACC has 4 higher rated teams at #8#14#15 and #22 and Colorado is being discussed as some kind of contender....Colorado? A team that couldn't buy a PAC12 win last year??? LMAO
