After test driving one (2024 model), here is what I can say. Exterior looks better in person, is striking, and looks like nothing else on the market. That is a bonus for me. If you don’t like it then don’t buy it. Interior looks modern, fresh, restrained. I don’t like super flashy interiors so I like this one. Materials are very nice and feels better than it looks, the opposite of most vehicles. Gauge cluster is neat and can be customized to fit the user. Infotainment is boring and rather plain but works well and gets the job done. Climate controls is my favorite thing about the car. I do think it is missing a lot of things… Elegant ambient lighting Better trunk lighting 360 camera without the fancy wheels in the $3,600 package. It needs more real metal-door handles & other places Frameless mirror- maybe digital Better sound system Stronger HVAC- not a huge problem but could be better Physical home button when in CarPlay/auto 3 stage heated rear seats HUD (optional on limited) 4 way lumbar for driver and 2 pay for passenger Power trunk (optional on limited) Hood struts Amber turn signals Maybe a full size spare instead of a space saver Power tilt wheel (optional or standard on limited) More storage space Nicer key fob Less beeps and alarms (at least be able to permanently disable them) And MOST important for me, less subscriptions. Sure… you get some of it on the platinum, but I want those features without 21” wheels and 30 mpg- I want the 40. The Camry has a lot of these options but people who are looking at the crown will buy it over an XLE Camry because the Camry looks like a Camry- plain and boring. The crown looks distinctive. Edit- another pro to the Camry is the 5th gen hybrid system that improves engine noise and stays on electric more. That would be nice in the crown. Sorry for spelling errors- I am typing this on mobile.
A lot of people say an 'Interesting Design', but I think it is a 'Stunning Design'. And, the 2025 Camry Redesign does look somewhat like the Crown as well. When looking for a new Car the Crown will definitely be on my list of possible cars.
After driving Crown and being Avalon owner. I feel the only advantage is step in height. I don’t like how low Avalon is to the ground. I do feel the seats on Crown are better than Avalon but if you asked me to choose, I’d get 5th gen Avalon Limited over Crown sedan bc it has way more features for less. Also, Avalon handles better too. I don’t understand why Toyota removes features but increases the cost.
I’d personally go for the Camry rather than the crown with the standard engine because I think the 5th gen is more refined, less drony and is actually faster.
@@ibrahimabah3693 right, but you can’t compare the hybrid max system to the standard powertrain, you can only compare it to the 5th generation standard powertrain
@@mitchellshareratleast100su7 why are you saying that for?🧐 so the Camry stands no chance against the crown platinum that’s wut u r tryna say “won’t be a fair comparison”?

Yup. Standard heated and vented seats but you have to get the 56k model to get a HUD or standard 360 cam! Buick envision gives you a 360 cam standard on a 35k vehicle.

You can hear the CVT (or eCVT - really no difference) when there is casual acceleration. Unless going Platinum with the 6 speed automatic, nobody should pay $50,000+ for a vehicle with a CVT.

@@sentryion3106 a person who pays 50K for a dressed up Toyota Camry, can pay 56K for a Lexus for sure. More importantly paying 50K for a Toyota car (Crown) is ridiculous!!! Atleast the brand name Lexus carries some weight for that kind of money
@@PeteNally I mean most Lexus are just dressed up Toyota so i don’t see the problem. The crown sedan is a niche car but it’s not completely unreasonable for people who wants a taller sedan
I don't understand what the market is for this car. Is it supposed to be a bigger camry that isn't really any bigger and gets worse fuel mileage? The interior looks exactly like the new camry. You can get a fully loaded camry with all the same features for almost 10k less.
Im debating between 2022 turbo mazda cx5 and 2021 acura rdx A spec(little more pricey).. Which you think is best and would be cheaper to maintain over the next 4-6 years..
Appreciate the review but checked this out to determine the difference between the nightshade and other models such as the limited that I have been considering. Not as clear as it could have been. Stating, "new on this 2025 crown" was unclear, because it has a limited badge. From Toyota's website limited and nightshade appear to be different models. Like the options on the limited but like the blacked-out nightshade version.
The question is why? Why a range topping hybrid pseudo crossover sedan priced like a Lexus. The Crown Insignia makes much more sense to me. Wagons tend to capture upscale buyers.
Looks great, but they priced it far too high. I'm not paying that much for this when I can get a loaded Hyundai Palisade for a similar amount of money with way more space and amenities.
Historically, crown is a luxury brand in Japan before Lexus. Why pay way more now? As you see mechanically it is same as camry! I rather wait for next gen of Lexus ES!
