I actually love the Grand Hyatt in SD. Went for a conference last year. Great view and location. I was there for 9 days and unfortunately, the Bilt promo for status started the week after.
Ah dang just missed it! But niceee! I'm actually headed down to San Diego in May so it's definitely a consideration for me as well! Thanks for watching Bobby!
Of course! Thank you Cesar! Yeah like you, I'm more of a Hilton or even Marriott loyalist, but I'll basically just be using this Card for one purpose each year and that's the free night.
Hahaha, this is metal, oh wait it’s not metal 😂😂😂 It really is a nice looking cards for sure. Agreed on the travel protections! I can’t wait to see which cat 4 hotels you use your FNCs on! I have a couple in mind already but will find more. Great unboxing Matt man!!
Thanks so much Anthony! Haha I definitely caught myself quickly when I said it was metal 😂but yeah I’m pumped to take a look at all my options and see what Cat 4 properties I can find.
I have had the hyatt card for a couple of years I was considering closing it and then reapplying but I just decided to pay the AF, get the annual night and eventually spend 15k on it for another cert.
Im really excited to see what that luxury WoH card ends up looking like! Would be awesome if it was good enough to rival the Hilton Aspire! Thanks for watching Eric!
Or course! I’ll be getting the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless next year and then product changing from that Card to the Ritz Card after one year. Will definitely have some videos on that product change strategy in the future as well. Thanks for watching Adia!
I am definitely thinking about it! Depending on how long I spend after the first part of the welcome bonus, the extra night for the $15k spend is definitely on the table!
I’m still new to the credit card game and my family and I travel 2-4x a year nationally/internationally. Hyatt is a card I am interested in applying does it require any “prerequisites” like 10k card limit or anything one needs to know prior to applying?
Thanks so much Adia! There aren’t any specific prerequisites necessarily, but it definitely does help to have a relationship with Chase whether that be opening a checking account with them, or starting with a card like the Freedom Flex/Freedom Unlimited.
@@MattWelterOfficial ok great. I have a relationship with them. A CD, checking account and 1 cc (freedom unlimited) considering opening a business account and biz cc -since my husband and I have rentals
Hyatt keeps raising the categories on their hotels/resorts. I booked Hyatt Ziva in 2022 for 25k a night. Next month it will be a category F, which is like 50K points a night.
Yeah for sure. Hyatt's point value has been so incredible for so long that it was inevitable at some point they'd raise the Categories. Definitely still some value opportunities for sure though. Thanks for watching Henry!
@@MattWelterOfficial it’s been like 3 years in a ROW. Hopefully chase increases the spend categories or gives out a larger sign up bonus for their cards. I feel like putting all my spend on my Surpass for the 5th night free & FNC.
@@MattWelterOfficial of course, Don’t know if you’ve made a video on this topic but I got my first Chase targeted mail offer for the CFF or the CFU both pre approved for either cards and an offer of 300.00 plus 5% Gas and Grocery, which card should I go for first
@@DaIton- Great question! I'm typically a proponent of the CFU first especially, since it's the easiest to understand & use as a Catch All Card, but with the 5% on Gas & Groceries during your first year, you can't really beat either one!

I’ve officially crowned you as THE Hotel card expert. Great video Matt! I went to the Grand Hyatt Chicago for a little stay-cation! Felt like a king 👑
Hahaha thank you Jake! I'll take it! No better feeling than staying at a luxury hotel like that- I'm sure the Grand Hyatt Chicago is the real deal!
@@MattWelterOfficial It was incredible. As soon as I walked into the room I was reminded why I have this hobby lol

Congratulations Matt! Not a fan of Hyatt cards but, is an easy card to justify with the free night. Thanks for overview!

Definitely a card on my road map. Congrats🙌🏽
Thanks so much Chris!
I Got Approved for This Card In April, Got a 20k Limit. Loving the card so far. Great Video 👍🏾
Congrats again on the WOH card Matt! Now you can add Hyatt to your hotel card collection. Next up IHG!
Thanks so much Stan!! And yes IHG next!
I got 5+ free nights from the points from the welcome bonus on the IHG... 😊 @@MattWelterOfficial
Just used my free night in New Orleans at Hyatt centric it was great. Enjoy the card!
Let's go! That's awesome Tony & thank you!

does the 5x gas & 5x dining & 5x groceries for the Chase IHG Premier applies outside US? thanks
Not interested in Hyatt personally. Congratulations ❤️ you do a great job on UA-cam ❤
Thank you Vicki!
I don’t recall you mentioning that you also earn 2 qualifying nights towards status every time you spend 5k.
Card is definitely in my future; need to get CSP first to complete the trifecta ~~
For sure totally makes sense! Thanks for watching my man!
What do you think about Chase potentially getting a Hilton Aspire competitor? Excited about that card as well as this one! Great pickup Matt!
Im really excited to see what that luxury WoH card ends up looking like! Would be awesome if it was good enough to rival the Hilton Aspire! Thanks for watching Eric!
Haha I thought the card looked metal initially, nevertheless agree that it looks nice. Thanks for sharing your unboxing experience Matt!
Haha seriously 😂thanks so much for watching Monty!
Can you talk about how you plan on getting the ritz card since it’s no longer advertised
Or course! I’ll be getting the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless next year and then product changing from that Card to the Ritz Card after one year. Will definitely have some videos on that product change strategy in the future as well. Thanks for watching Adia!
Are you going for the $15k bonus night? I thought that would be a good angle with the extended welcome offer, it gets you all the way there...

I’m still first right? Thank God they didn’t put any of those terrible embossed characters on the card! Thank you Chase!
Haha seriously! Thanks for watching CJ!
The Cat 4 free night cert is pretty bad. Every year Hyatt bumps up hotels from Cat 4 to Cat 5, making the cert less valuable.
Still definitely ways to use it to get more value than the annual fee each year though!
just in time for the deval :(
Yeah :(
👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
