    This guy is so encouraging, like it feels like he cares deeply abt everyone's progression. really wish I would've had a coach like this when I tried to start playing organized in hs (my coach looved to play favorites). i loved watching the nba and i loved playing the sport, and i can handle the ball well, but god i was some str8 dogwater in-game cus the second i got the ball i would tense up and get scared. but now i dont worry as much if i mess up a play or 2. mistakes happen, contact is drawn, as long as youre learning from your mistakes, you will always progress.

    • @tres1259
      @tres1259 11 місяців тому +1

      Omg, that's happening to me😿. I'm training in a club and during the workouts I don't have any problems, but as soon as I'm in a match, I feel a lot of pressure and tense up like there's no tomorrow, and I can't do layups because I don't want to lose the ball and mess everything up. I know basketball is a sport where contact is important, but I don't know how to control my nervousness

    Generally speaking the attack has advantage over defense when the ball is with the right guy. Just put to play together the best players for defense and attack...the later will prevail most of the time, either by scoring or getting a fault. Basketball is somewhat unfair with defenders (one on one) however as a team, defense can be as effective as what Lakers did with Miami game 6.

      i’m the same i’m a freshman too and in games all the 6 5 seniors press me. you just have to practice going from 0-100 to 0 again. like when you get the inbound you start off slow, and then explode for a lil then slow again, or the opposite. i’m not nearly as athletic or fast, but if ur smart with it you’ll be able to beat them on a press. You really only need to beat the press once, then they’ll back up

    Man I wish had a coach like this. All coaches I had it was obvious they didn't even like their job. They didn't teach us anything and then got mad at us when we lost a match against other schools. I ended up not liking basketball and eventually stopped playing for a very long time. Now I feel like I can't get back into playing as I feel that I'm very very bad to the point that I'm not even having fun when I play. My shooting and dribbling is awful and don't think I can do it anymore.
    You are a great coach and the way you do your job is amazing because your students are learning and improving a lot because of you, you motivate them to keep going and to discover their true potential, continue doing your thing.

    Having information like this available online is insane for the youth of today. I played at a private school and everything we were taught was from a coach shadowing the fundamentals of Phil Jackson and his playbooks. While there is loads of quality to be taught from that. We only had what he taught. We could only figure out things on our own or in practice together or at the local park in pick up. Having videos like this capable of teaching you new fundamental level options and movesets to practice and add to your offense is insane.

    Coach, good stuff but if you jab with your right foot and duck-under with a cross step, isn't that traveling because you are changing your pivot. just asking. Great stuff, love it !!!!!

      Bro if you ain’t gonna be 6’10”+ train to be a guard or forward. Cause being a 6’4” center ain’t gonna help you in the long run.

    If I could go back in time, I would never let anyone (mostly family and friends) talk me down. I used to say that I will end up in NBA. My father would laugh. My cousin played back in the day in Italy in a second league team, came to visit me and after we played he wanted me to go there and join the team. He said to the coaches there that i am really good and only 16 y.o. Eventually my mom, who first agreed to send me, declined. So I never went. Sucks.

    When they were working on the 1 on 1s they should have used harder jabs and manipulate there first step. The only thing missing is hard jabs.
