      Hey, I have a question and need a wee bit of info, How can I get hold of you? I have two bots with spacers from somewhere by the fan bracket and I can't recall where, nor can I figure out where they go. Plus I have something odd going on with the new belt. Crank is centered, belt matches all marks but when I then move crank pulley to "o" at TDC, the cam pulleys are then way off. ????

    OK.... very satisfying to watch... Another great quality video. Here is where my engine compartment craziness will show again. The VHT Wrinkle Plus grey would not have been "factory" but would have looked very unique. Also, you just gotta take the time to mask off the TOYOTA and grab some Testors Enamel Model paint and paint those letters. Works on throttle bodies as well. "A friend," told me. To mask there is also this liquid rubbery shield stuff you can get at Hobby Lobby. But it can be tricky and I have found it almost easier to just mask with tape. On recessed stuff, I paint with hobby syringes with very large gauge needles. Can't wait for the next installment.

    I'd offer that this is more of a plenum paint job and using a fine scuff pad like a scotch-brite (can attach to drill) would have resulted in a more factory appearance. They polish the aluminum without marring the surface of the aluminum.

  • @blainehale
    @blainehale 3 роки тому +3

    Spray paint :( That aluminum would have great for blasting. If that's not an option, Eagle 1 MAG wheel cleaner will bring the aluminum back to new without the need for paint. You could clear coat it after, if you wanted it to last longer.

      This is a genuine concern! It happened with my E30 as well, and it was just going to keep progressing if I didn't sell it. That was my main reason for selling it. Something most won't understand until they're in the predicament themselves!
