Hell yeah brother! I just picked up a 99 4runner so I might start doing some videos on that one too. Thanks for watching and commenting, be sure to subscribe if you haven't so you'll be notified when I post new videos!
You ever get the heads back from the machine shop brother man. I just got to the point lastnight of putting the timing belt new idler, new tensioner and all the covers back on my 94 3zve. I went with an engine tech master kit with mls head gaskets to go with my ARP head studs. The only rebuild videos for a 3.0 I can find are for the bottom end so I hope to see you upload the rest of this build lots of good info here good work man. That’s a slick extended cab pickup you got I’m glad you’re keeping it alive with the 3.0 most aren’t fond but hell they’re little tractor engines😂 poor maintenance and still roll over 400k miles gotta love em
Get on it son! I just picked up a 1999 4runner. Going to be another build I'm doing, nothing crazy. I'll probably do a walk around video of it soon. Just got a lift for it in the mail today.
@@TrentsGarage I installed the rough country lift about 8 months ago on my 92 runner. Eventually I will do the solid axle swap if I can find me a decent donor at the junkyard!
@@SemperMortem I have a 1985 solid axle sitting in the bed of my 1990 if decide to SAS it. I went with the freedom offroad adjustable coil over kit for the 1999 4runner.

I have a 91 that's been leaking oil out of the rear of the engine. It's been into the dealer 3X for them to attempt to repair it and it is STILL leaking! We're thinking that there must be a problem with the block because they replaced the main seal 2X, the oil pan and the ring around the main seal on the 3rd visit. I'm wondering whether the bolts that hold the ring in place aren't getting good threads in the block, so they aren't holding. I'm hoping to see how things work when you put that part together.
Check the valve cover gasket. And then check the camshaft rear seal plugs. More often that not people start with the valve cover gasket, tighten it, replace it, add gasket compound, add more, start over. The whole time the leak is just about 2 inches around the corner.
@@nickt9467 The dealer finally got the rear of the motor all sealed up but now the front side of the motor is leaking again, less than 1 year since that was worked on by another mechanic. It's back at the other mechanic and he's honoring his warranty. That other mechanic had already dealt with the valve cover gaskets; he had to re-address one side because it started leaking shortly after the first time he worked on it!

about to do my first full rebuild on a 3VZ. appreciate the info and can’t wait for the next video on the build process!

I’ve built one from scratch about 8 years back. Sprayed the block bronze.
Looks good bud 👍😎
I can't wait to pull mine out and breathe some life into it

I use Permatex on my freeze plugs. I don’t put them in dry.
Also using a deadblow hammer works so much better.
Didn’t tape off the bottom end or cylinder deck for over spray?….. edit (tape off with plastic bag)
Niceeee 🤙🏽
Thank you
