Been earning since 18. Currently a CA. A finance advice i would give to everyone and something i follow religiously :
1. Always save first. I have a thumb rule of saving 1/3rd of my salary and putting it in stocks or mutual funds.
2. Create two accounts. One for your small purchases such as everyday groceries etc and one for the bigger purchases of anything more than 1k. Always use a credit card for the bigger amounts. Credit cards are a boon if used wisely. My sister and her husband paid for all of her wedding expenses via credit cards and gathered points enough to have a free business class flight and stay for their honeymoon!

@@palakksrivastava Hi Palak! Personally i would recommend you look into credit cards based on your lifestyle. But for me personally, since i travel frequently- Axis atlas credit card works really well. HDFC millennia is also something that i use for online shopping and ordering food etc. they have great cashbacks

This video is so genuine. I am also an impulsive buyer of sorts… i used to be the same as u explained here. But now i am living in a different country and here too when i got my salaries i got stuff for my family without saving. I am not saying that buying things for my family is a bad thing… i would do that every day if i can but now in the start of 2023 my new year resolution was to start saving which i did but then things happened differently and i had to use my savings to live altogether… but none the less, i am again started up saving and i was wanting to buy a luxury bag as well since it was in mh wishlist for the longest time and i was planning to do it next year. But now after seeing this video, i think i am going to save the nxt couple of years till i feel i have enough in the savings after i buy that bag. And mostly i am going to do as u do that u have to have double the amount in ur savings for the worth of things u buy!!! I also liked what u said about partners being on the same page in terms of finances. I hope i use ur suggestions and make most of it!!! Thank u for such a nice lesson!

Thank You Shivangi. As a 32 year old born and brought up in Malaysia, I never had any goal in life when it came to finance due to my constant turbulances in health. And due to this, and also my heavy weight, I am still unable to find a lifepartner who is genuine. After listening to you, I realise that financial independance is very important as nobody is with us to support us forever. I dont know it is too late or not, but I have started a part time job recently that is enough to pay for my meals. I hope I become like you one day. Then maybe, I might find a good husband also.

I didnt earn but earlier just like you lot of people took advantage of me but one day my very good friend made me realise one day she borrowed money for buying samosa in canteen and next day she returned the money i was surprised and said no need to return back before that my many other friends used to borrow money (everyday)and they never return me back but she said dear paise paed par nahi ugte and we dont earn yet this is your parents hard earn money so keep it tera birthday ho tab treat dena abhi rakh....and that day my friend made me realise the value of money...even it was very small amount...and till date we are friends, she is married had a baby we havent met for so long but we are constantly in touch with each other on phone, msg....having such a friends is blessing...

Enjoy your life while you can. At least your partner is loyal , no kids yet and you realized this early on with support.So stay blessed . Some of us are made clowns and as the saying goes” at least we lived like a queen for a day” ( that’s the excuse which is also right as we miss those days).People are dangerous and toxic so watch out , they are simply out to challenge /trigger and ruin( teachings) you . First time writing to you, because mostly you speak as inclusive as possible and that comes with certain humbleness that you have and it was no different this time around as well except from few places where I felt you are being harsh on your perspective of your memories. For example: you said you spent a lot on your friends (who are not in your contact any longer but at that time they were your friends) so its okay, I think it's only fair to treat money like a resource and not essential. It's great that you didn't attach yourself with the money you were earning and double amazing that you had the heart to let some other be happy and you said you were happy in the process.
