I like that they're actually trying to help protect the shooter who could possibly be protecting themself.
Feel like they're doing what silencers are supposed to do.
Except they are loud as fuck and don't do anything near as well as.better made silencers. Congrats, their marketing worked on you. Also, current standard in is to measure from shooters ear. The 1 meter left of muzzle is the old standard.
@@mrstihl16 What isn't loud as fuck? Silencers do not really Silence anything. Never really have, there are some instances where you can get real quiet but not out of anything worth while. .300 blackout (subs) comes to mind, .22LR but again. Not really worth while.
@@twiggybones7040 CGS Hyperion, dead air nomad l, CGS Helios, some thunder beast cans even. All of those are less than half as loud.
@@mrstihl16 And what're those running price wise? These seem to be targeted at those on a budget. Now, we could be smart with our money. Apply for a tax stamp and then save money for a great can, but these seem to be good enough. Sometimes Good enough is just that. You get all the flash to dissappear, you're barrel doesn't get much longer. It's better than nothing, if you keep some electronic hearing protection (or any) around your stock this is almost perfect. It damn sure beats the alternative. Solvent traps, oil filters. The only reason it wouldn't beat the alternatives is because tax stamps. Then there's a prison sentence attached IF you get caught.
I personally like Witt machine’s business practices of we care about our clients.
Apparently, that's no longer true. Ordered a muzzle brake from Witt Machine nearly 2 months ago. They charged my CC but never processed my order nor issued me a refund. I gave them more than 30 days to do so before contacting them. I then asked by email when the order would ship, and was told "That should be shipping out by the end of the week or first of next week" and then, after claiming my order was manufactured but somehow lost, "I am having them remake it with top priority." Needless to say, the order remained in "processing" status and I never received anything.. I asked for a refund and was sent a PDF of the electronic refund transaction. I reviewed my account for several days and no refund appeared. I again contacted a Witt representative, who then stated that there was a system issue on their end and the refund rejected. I was then promised that a refund check would be sent (no explanation why they couldn't attempt the electronic refund again). It's been well over a week now and no check. I threatened them will legal action and their verbatim response was, "If you want to pursue legal action that is your prerogative but then you will be out a lot more that $88 dollars..." After reviewing the email exchanges, my bank approved (and is now processing) a chargeback on this fraudulent transaction. This is a fraudulent and deceitful company that will take your money and give you the runaround for months, maybe forever. Don't take my word for it; do a search on customer reviews for them and read the forums. Many, many others have had experiences similar to mine. They have an "F" Better Business Bureau rating and aren't even BBB accredited.

The dude in back ground screwing around is the best addition to this video! Oh the the suppressors are awesome too, thank you for caring about our ears and not an arbitrary standardized test!
TL;DR: short can reduces dwell time which causes less gas (noise) coming out of the ejection port. Can length shortness is compensated for by volume.
Not all heros wear capes.
I love you
you mean shortness is compensated for by increased diameter (to achieve the volume lost from the length reduction)
So it's the girth that counts. Gotcha.
@DanBowkley always has brother 😏
*tips hat*
The military standard for sound might make sense for a suppressor that you want to be less visible and audible to the enemy, but it doesn't make sense for the civilian market. I think most people wanna emulate military procedure too much. This measurement makes more sense for us
I agree
Totes my dude. I agree
Guns make sound and muzzle flash. Both are annoying whether you are in the military or shooting for fun at the range. You must not go shooting very often.
Nice theory but a lot of people want suppressors to actually suppress….instead of just directing the sound forward.
If the shooter only wants suppressed sound….buy electronic hearing protection. It’s cheaper.
@@cleetismcdougall5425 you must be new
Sent this to my daughter, a mechanical engineering student:
This is an interesting take on what really should be tested. The original test, set by the military, is it well thought through. This testing method is what the intent should be and what the intent is of a noise suppressor: No noise level for the shooter, not the target!
This is a good example of setting the proper objective. The older test did not think through clearly to what the solution should be
The older method was geared more towards being 'hidden' in a combat zone. Most guys are not in a combat zone, or in a team environment where team mates have leap frogged in front of them.
The Witt Testing keeps that in mind.
Thanks for adding your thoughts!

We'll see what we can do.
They are all direct thread. This company completely missed their mark when marketing their suppressor. They try to refute the metering test but this dude doesn’t understand suppressor technology very well. They should had just said “a cheap, short, low back pressure can to use at the range so save your ears.” That’s it. Let the price and low back pressure sell the can not this nonsense about metering.

I'm a dealer for WITT. Higgins is a great guy to work with as well. I've found their cans work really well on longer barrels and or smaller calibers like 223 and 300 BO. However personally on a 16 inch 308 it was a little too loud for me and I posted a video on my channel. To reduce the pop at the shooters ear, you can reduce the gas volume to the BCG with a adjustable gas block to delay the opening which helps with all suppressors.
They even made one for my 458 Socom with a 16 inch barrel that is ear safe.
For the money it's actually a great durable can.
Thanks Tim!!

Sweet information.
Interesting concept, I am intrigued.
That intro was HILARIOUS! LOL!
I shoulda made a couch reference.
I was soooo fucking tired when we did all this lol
Makes a lot of sense, the military is looking for a combat suppressor that can reduce the report going down range (to better conceal the shooter) and protect the soldier from return fire, not hearing loss. Civilian use of a suppressor for target shooting / defense is understandably different.
Actually, the military cares way more about the hearing loss issue as hearing loss lawsuits are a HUGE problem for the military.
Great information! I love you too!👍🏾😀❤️🇺🇸
Outstanding
Y'all are great but I would really like to hear some of the more common calibers run through these suppressors. Great stuff guys.
The guy you're shooting at has a lot more to worry about than tinnitus. Yup! He has to worry about listening to where the sound is coming from to ID the location of the guy shooting at him. I have never been in the military and I have never fired a silenced weapon, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason the military issues silencers to to help protect our guys from having their location identified by the enemy.
That does make sense. I wonder how much 10 decibels really make in that scenario though.
@@randojones2030 -- I have no idea, but I'd wager that a military contract to purchase these -- or, the lack of one -- will answer that question.
Came here to say this. If all you're getting a suppressor for is for the hope it makes noise more comfortable for you to deal with, then you're severely limiting the applications of the suppressor. And if that's all it does then it's probably not the best option.
They specifically state that there can is not for that purpose, and that's what other cans are for. I'm not sure why your even bringing that up. If you want stealth, this isn't the can for you. They stated as much. Your commentary is entirely redundant.
@@sinisterthoughts2896 -- Sosume.
Fascinating!
I think one issue we've seen with cans is the "standard" of being able to fit them under a handguard, artificially limiting can diametre.
I have an 11.5" rail on a 12.5" AR _specifically_ because I wanted to be able to fit a fat suppressor on their, and also because I dont really like tucked cans.
@@royrogers3624 the real question should be, "is there even a reason they dont make fatter cans other than fitting under handguards? You can make the can thicker by a ton and still have your sights clear the suppressor so why not make it bigger for better suppression/less blowback? I think this guy is onto something
If you go with a Unity style riser I’m pretty sure you could clear a Ø 5” can (or more 😂). You could basically design a pancake suppressor. It’s all about girth I am told
red shirt guy is awesome
He's a viking.
A good production all around
Thanks a ton!
Thanks, Higgins. VERY nice explanation of acoustic testing, a topic I *thought* I understood until seeing this video. I understand completely about the problem of building something to meet a specific test. In a Super Secret Squirrel military scenario, I can see why you would be more worried about downrange sound v. shooter's ear sound levels. But the average working man will never experience that situation. YMMV, as they say.
This was SO fkn entertaining. 😄😆
I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Wow, makes complete sense to me!
I am certainly going to look into this suppressor just because this was the funniest Advertising I’ve ever seen

🤣🤣🤣🤣😩 the background action is the best even the swing and ring ON Target 🤣🤣🤣
That makes absolutely 1000% sense to me. I'd rather be more comfortable than my potential bad guy. My question is what about a shorter barrel length? Especially backpack friendly barrels like 10.5, 9.5, 7.5 barrels?
Put these in boxes marked Blast Diffusers and ship to Cali? Asking for a friend.
Am i the only one who saw the guy hiding behind the plywood car door in the background? 🤣

I own a Canooter Valve in 5.56. I really like it.
Who make's that Hi-Speed Brass Catcher on the First Rifle there? That is way COOL!
Tactical Brass Recovery
Me and 2 buddies have Dirty 30’s and Freakin 45’s from Witt. They absolutely suck. They suppress nothing. We have tried on every caliber we own. Just a big weight on end of your barrel that you paid $500 for. I got the 45 can for my 10mm. You can even tell it’s on there it’s so loud. Neither are anywhere close to hearing safe. Every time we post a negative review on their site it’s removed or never posted. Save your money.
So longer isn't always better.😭
Life lessons from the heartland.
@@PatRMG ain't that a fact.
Not if it's fat enough.
Unless you’re just trying to break that second wall
I would be interested to see that experiment comparing different suppressors at the muzzle and ear to also include manual action guns (lever, bolt, or even an AR with a completely closeable gas block). If Witt Machine's cans have a smaller difference between semi auto and manual at the ear that would certainly confirm the logic they are using.
There are some tests on YT.
They seem to average about 20-30 db at the ear if i recall.
@@michaelkaiser1864 Most tests are 'reversed' due to port pop, slightly louder at the ear than at the muzzle. Obviously this isn't a factor so much with bolt guns.
@@MuzzleFrontLLC thanks for the info.
Im still on the fence. Still no info to be had about flash either.
These would be good for home defense arms as well. Gonna have to look into these for exactly that.
I am looking for a suppressor for self defense on a 223/556 AR. Theoretically, would this be good for that? Since I won’t really care too much about the poor home intruder’s hearing or a treeline of Viet Kong seeing my muzzle flash?
Also that double hit with the stick in the background was legendary.

Great Video and Information..I will buy one,Ive got two great SilencerCo suppressors but I will try yours out.
"You can ring my beeeeeeelll ring my bell."
I had a chance to demo some of these suppressors with my dealer. Cannooter Valve was impressive on my 16" Tavor. But I wasn't impressed at all with the 9mm suppressor on the MPX with 4" barrel. Might be better on a 16"?
These are subjective observations, we did not have meters on site for that event. The Cannooter Valve was compared to a Griffin SPR reflex suppressor and the Witt 9mm was compared against a Griffin Armament Revolution Gen1 in the short configuration.
Also, for their size, the Witt suppressors are pretty heavy. I know it's a "budget brand" but a titanium Cannooter Valve would be awesome.

From the shooters perspective, sort of
No…I think he’s making the point that they prioritized sound reduction for the shooter over sound reduction for the ‘microphone test position’. And, they also constrained materials to keep the price point low. Sounds like a reasonable balance of priorities for the consumer.
@@TheDude1764 True, as long as the consumer owns, or intends to own, at least one semi-auto rifle But for someone who does not, any suppressor that produces lower db levels at the microphone test position will produce even lower db levels at the shooter's ear.
