After purchasing and waiting, finally tested the Dirty 30 on 8.5 in Radical Firearms upper. Not enough back pressure to cycle subsonic 300 BLK rounds and doesn't seem hearing safe, at least for others nearby.
Because of the way its designed "not to blow gas in your face like a 15yr old blows Vape exhaust on everyone in a 20' radius" you will not have much fun with that can and subs. Gotta shooting buddy who has a 5.5" 300bo with a Dirty 30. His looks super cool but, my 300bo with 220gr subs works every time. I didn't run the Dirty 30, I have a Hybrid 46 from Silencerco. @@tangomantactical I did get the Dirty 30 to cycle subs after installing the JP silent captured spring, so I'm pretty happy about that. I've had my eye on the Hybrid 46. May eventually get it.
My quick review on the Witt Machine SME… On an 11.5" length barrel in 5.56 caliber, you would cause hearing damage very quickly with this device. I bought 6 (three 5.56 and three .30 caliber to use on our 6.8 SPC-II's). Witt Machine sent all 6 and one extra for a total of 7 (one was blemished but only cosmetically). They all look fine structurally and shipping time was reasonable. Threw one on my 11.5" upper pistol in 5.56 caliber and went out to shoot just ONE without hearing protection and it was very loud and my left ear was ringing for a couple of minutes. I am sure it was better than a non-linear comp, but I have doubts that that there is any significant difference between it and the Noveske pig. Would I buy it again? Not for a pistol length 5.56, but perhaps for a full 16" length 5.56, 6.8 or 300 BO...or a 9mm or 22lr. I also just tried it on the 22lr and it was pleasant. Honestly though, I expected it to be much more reduced at the shooter's ear given that guy shot a full mag of 5.56 without hearing protection, but perhaps he is using a full 16" barrel. I am 100% certain if I did that with the 11.5" barrel I would have caused permanent hearing damage with the 11.5" barrel. I will test it more on other lengths and make a review of my own.
After purchasing and waiting, finally tested the Dirty 30 on 8.5 in Radical Firearms upper. Not enough back pressure to cycle subsonic 300 BLK rounds and doesn't seem hearing safe, at least for others nearby.
Have run a 9mm SME on a 16" Beretta Storm and as long as you weren't wanting to shoot over 100rds(outside range) you would barely have ringing. I also ran it on a AR9 I built with a 10.5" barrel and, you can go awhile if your not trying to mag dump. Shooting precision and not volume. I wear earpro-earbuds anyway. As you know once you start losing hearing, you never get it back.
