Sean Chandler Talks About can you please rank all of Will Ferrell’s movies? He’s my favorite actor and I think it could spark some interesting discussion.
Honestly, I think " The Hateful Eight" is incredibly underrated and one of my favorites of Tarantino's work. I think the dialogue is fantastic and very engaging, while the plot moves along at a very slow pace which allows the movie to flesh out everything we love even more. I loved the character work and I was never able to figure out the twist before it came. I love the humor and the conflicts and I especially love the wonderfully bloody conclusion to the film. I definitely reccomend the extended edition on Netflix which clocks in at nearly 4 hours, completely worth the watch in my opinion.
I haven't seen the extended version but the 2 hour 40 mins one that I saw was fantastic and my favourite Quinton film. The slow pacing fleshes out the characters and the score is one of my favourites. Sam l Jackson is so good to see as, in my opinion, is better in this than in pulp fiction. The setting is riverting as it's close quarters means that that character conflicts feel so much better and meant I couldn't take my eyes of the screen. Also BIG,BLACK,PECKA
Colin Mitchell everyone talks about how bad it is, and I absolutely love it. It’s one of my favorite movies of all time, I’ve probably seen it over 10 times. I just really love it
Yea it was a real actors movie. Jennifer Jason Leighs performance is arguably the best in any Tarantino movie and that's saying alot to even be in the conversation
octagonproplex yep. Totally, the more Tarantino I see the better, and with Walton goggins, Sam l Jackson, kurt Russell, Tim Roth and Jennifer Jason Leigh?! I’d ask for a 24 hour cut if I could
Yeah me too. If you watch it in that way you would appreciate all the dialouge better. When i first saw the movie i said this should have been a miniseries.
Same here...damn films a masterpiece so many good moments don't get how being 3 hours is a bad thing hell film don't feel like 3 hours though it would of gone longer I love it hate when ppl complain about its length I love longer movies just pissed me off
Evan Vorwerk Well is say you need to rewatch every Tarantino film 2 with in 1 week to truly appreciate it, I didn’t like pulp fiction that club but then I watched it again and loved it, I didn’t really feel the hateful eight but watched it again and loved it, the only Quentin films I watched once and immediately loved were inglorious basterds and Django unchained. So yeah I’d say you watch it again and maybe you’ll enjoy it more the second time
The hateful eight is brilliant. Sure its a slow burner with a small plot. But relativity in cinema is important. This movie is the ultimate build-up-and-release of tension and anticipation. The exaggerated beginning just makes the 2nd half stand out more.
I got soo bored in hateful 8. Anticipation and build up is all well and good, but it still needs to be 7. For me this film was dull. So was Hollywood. Very disappointed in his last 2 films
@@michaelcolbourn6719 Yeah, he didn't get us to care enough about Hateful Eight or Hollywood..like these characters had no depth that was interesting to watch.. Hateful eight kind of got us to like some characters but the tension was lacking.
Brady Salesman the funny thing is I still enjoy death proof. It’s by no means a great movie but I had fun especially in the last 15 mins. I don’t believe Tarantino’s made a bad movie yet
It annoys the hell out of me when i see people criticize and compare Death Proof to his other works. It was an experiment. It was a "grindhouse"/ b-movie film for fun.
Including Death Proof, the end wasn't quite as sharp as the rest of his catalog, but was an otherwise fantastic movie. Stuntman Mike, for me, is one of the great film antagonists...Russel just plays him with such devious glee.
9-Jackie Brown 8-Death Proof 7-Reservoir Dogs 6-Inglorious Basterds 5-The Hateful Eight 4-Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 3-Kill Bill 2-Django Unchained 1-Pulp Fiction
I found it extremely painful after the awesomeness that is RD and pulp. I might like it if I watched it again but i feel like i won't enjoy it since i dont really like the actor who plays jackie.
@@lauri.lyijymaaliPam Grier is an icon and that’s why Tarantino cast her. Same with Travolta in “Pulp Fiction” (few people remember now that he was considered a faded star at the time). That said, I’m not disrespecting your opinion.
Black Jesus ,lovely name by the way,“Kill Bill” is on a whole league of its own. I feel that if i were to have put this in my list it would be ranked somewhere in-between 2 and 3
Tre Top I would imagine Kill Bill wasn’t on your list because it’s not as quintessentially Tarantino, in other words it’s even more insane and not as dialogue heavy. Even Tarantino has said that he doesn’t consider Kill Bill to be in the actual world he has created, but it’s more that Kill Bill is the kind of movie that the characters in his world would watch. So as you say, they’re in a league of their own.
The Kill Bill Movies are probably my favorite of his. The style of them is just so good I think it’s his best and they don’t drag on to me. I like them but that’s just me.
Yeah its great have u seen kill bill the whole bloody affair I got to see it its awesome n crazy how it works as a single 4 hour movie it becomes volume 1 just feels the beginning of the film it's crazy n love it more as one film than two
9. Death Proof: Underdeveloped story & characters 7/10 8. Jackie Brown: Poor pacing, clash of styles 7.5/10 Power Gap 7. Reservoir Dogs: Dialogue is great, but also the most dated of his films 8.5/10 6. Hateful Eight: Bloated, but 2nd half makes up for it 8.5/10 5. Django Unchained: Brilliant film, but everything after the shootout feels off 9/10 4. Inglourious Basterds: In terms of directing, this is Tarantino's best work 9.5/10 3. Kill Bill: Volume 1 above Volume 2, but both create a truly satisfying revenge story 9.5/10 2. Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood: Emotionally moving & my two favorite characters 9.5/10 1. Pulp Fiction: Once in a generation sort of film, Tarantino's masterpiece 10/10
i personally thought once upon a time in hollywood was stupid and a waste of time. brad pitt and leo were great characters but there was no story and no character development. i felt like tarantino was wasting my time while watching it
@@ljummingen haha yes. But Jackie Brown is a good movie. I mean it has the most cohesive or shall I say a clear narrative of all his movies I have seen. Its probably a little gimmicky (then all his films are) but it is a good movie. Tarantino is one of those directors where its definitely style over substance. Dialogue heavy, focusing on individual scenes, and putting a lot of effort on making one character distinct from another. But the best is definitely reservoir dogs. Its amateurish but the best. Pulp fiction, I dunno why its ranked so high. There are some interesting parts and its a good movie. But all time great ? Kill Bill volume 1 was very good. Really great action movie. Part 2 disappointed, especially the end. Hateful Eight is bloated. Also the screenplay is not as sharp. It was a movie where probably he ended up trying to be a little too elaborate and clever for his own good. Also the ending was not the best. I will not spoil it but not the ending after all the set up. Have to see Django and Inglorious Bastards though.
Death Proof is such an underrated movie in my opinion... Many people love Quentin's dialouge yet in movie reviews and discussions it seems to be what other people dislike the most. yes it took a while for the violence to happen but there is so much intersting things to this movie!! The opening sequence with the profecional driver behind the wheel captivated my attention allot. The character's seemed just serrious and real enough. It's safe to say these types of movies are not about the destination but the journey , the way Tarantino juggles underlying problems that could go off at any minute is the reason why dialouge never feels like it has no reason. I don't wanna make this about a "movies now days are not the same blah blah" But they really are not... A Tarantino film is like drinking coffee with less sugar, like having doritos after a long swim, the journey is so beautiful that it amplifies the ups and downs of a story. I'm no expert but i am a huge fan and i just wanted to point this out cause i find it ironic for people to love his work yet call it "Slow" or say "Yeah but it took like ages for the climax" When to me it feels like the climax is rising from scene 1.
Couldn’t agree more! I absolutely love Death Proof. It’s one of my favorites by QT. I can watch it over and over, immersed in the sets, witty dialogue, and intriguing characters. I think it’s masterful. And the car chase at the end is an absolute thrill - even the the tenth time around,
I notice every time I see one of ur top # videos I disagree with the entire placement of most of the movies 😂. That being said keep up the good work sir that’s what makes me come back to it

Tarantino just has this incredible ability to draw you in to dialogue heavy scenes, the intensity he can create and how immersed and engaged you can be is just surreal. I mean Inglorious Bastards has a lot of these scenes and just wow
Not seen once upon a time yet 8)death proof 7)Jackie brown 6)Reservoir dogs 5)Kill Bill vol 2 -kill bill 4)Django unchained 3)the hateful 8 2)inglorious basterds 1)pulp fiction
Silent_Bob I actually do enjoy it. It’s still his worst movie but the fact that it’s enjoyable really is a testament to the fact that I don’t believe Tarantino has made a bad movie yet
no worries about your comment. It was prefaced with "I think..." so right away it is is presented as an opinion; not to mention describing it as minority which will allow the majority to give pause in reaction. And it was considerate of you to reinstate that is just your opinion incase the reader just isn't getting it. The brilliant word choice of crucify further demonstrates that critisim of your comment or opinion demands sensitivity.
It's really amazing there's no a bad movie in the bunch, shows how deliberate he is with his projects, not just cobbling bullshit together for a quick buck, he doesn't do it unless there's a clear picture. The worst Tarantino movie is still amongst the best movies of all time. For me: #1. Pulp Fiction, no contest, this is his magnum opus. The characters, the scenery, the soundtrack, the dialogue. Not a missed beat in the entire film as far as I'm concerned. 2. Django Unchained 3. Inglorious Basterds 4. Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood 5. Kill Bill Volume 1 6. Reservoir Dogs 7. Kill Bill Volume 2 8. Hateful 8 9. Death Proof 10. Jackie Brown If I were to rate Kill Bill as a whole, it'd drop below Reservoir Dogs. Honestly, even making the list, aside from Pulp Fiction, I was constantly arguing with myself in placement. Absolutely any of those could have ranked completely different on another day, Pulp Fiction is the only one that's always #1.
Kill Bill movies was him explicitly trying to please the crowd and make quick bucks. Which is perfectly fine since those movies, although intended to appeal to a mass audience, are well-made.
Great list!!!!! My List is 1. Pulp Fiction 2. Inglorious Bastards 3. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 4. Django unchained 5. Kill Bill 6. Reservoir Dogs 7. Hateful Eight 8. Jackie Brown 9. Death Proof
My List 1. Kill Bill 2. Inglorious Basterds. 3. Pulp Fiction 4. Django 5. Reservoir Dogs 6. Once Upon a time in Hollywood 7. Hateful Eight 8. Jackie Brown 9. Death Proof
I know I’m in the minority here, but Pulp is actually a lower tier Tarantino for me. I find myself unable to connect or get excited by anything with the Bruce Willis storyline, and the whole gimp storyline just never worked for me. I found it odd and out of place. If it weren’t for that, I would probably put it in my top 3. I appreciate how it rewrote the rules of filmmaking/screenwriting, but I just enjoy other QT films more.🤷♂️
@@Evan15 it's supposed to be shocking, it wasn't predictable of Tarantino to do that yet, plus it had the 'two enemies coming together to defeat a greater evil' deal
My favorite director is Tarantino. Love all the films I seen. He is a movie lover that's what I love. You can tell in each movie he is passionate about his work. My ranking is below (Haven't seen Jackie Brown and Death Proof) 1. Pulp Fiction (favorite film of all time at least for right now) 2. My List 1.) Django Unchained (Easily my favorite. I think its Tarantino at his best and the movie checks all the boxes, from character development, to storytelling, to action sequences. This movie did it all for me. The actors knocked it out of the park too. People overlook how good of a job Jamie Foxx did only because he was competing with Waltz, Leo, and Sam Jackson all at their best. I fucking love the scene with Don Johnson. There is the perfect dash of comedic relief in a lot of the scenes too. The movie is fucking awesome!) 2.) Pulp Fiction (Its the quintessential Tarantino movie. If I had to show an Alien what a Tarantino movie was, I would show it Pulp Fiction.) 3.) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Loved it! I found myself daydreaming about how good it was days after watching it. Not as action packed as most of his other titles, but the character development and story was fucking great! Leo and Brad killed it too.) 4.) Hateful Eight (I think its a cool movie. It is definitely unique. Movies like this are why I love Tarantino. While everyone else is trying to do a quick cash grab with "Fast & Furious 9" or the 100th Marvel movie, Tarantino says fuck that, I'm gonna make the movie that I think is good. He clearly didn't care about making money on this one. He just wanted to tell this cool murder mystery. And I dig it!) 5.) Kill Bill vol.1(I think its honestly one of his best films and was in my top 3 for a while. The ending is fucking epic! I refuse to attach it to vol. 2 because I have way different appreciations for both movies) 6.) Inglorious Basterds (For me, it gets overrated by a lot of people. Definitely a great movie, but it is dry at times imo and doesn't have the same re-watch appeal as some of his other movies. I did love it the 1st time I watched it, but imo, it gets worse with age. I don't even hold the fact that a lot of the movie is in subtitles against it. There are just a lot of boring scenes imo and I felt like the only character that really got developed was Waltz. There are not enough of the Basterds in Inglorious Basterds. You got a little bit of back story on some of the characters and thats it. I think the story would make for a better tv show than a movie. More time for character development and endless possibilities for missions and different story arcs.) 7.) Reservoir Dogs (classic but doesn't stand up against his newer shit) 8.) Kill Bill vol.2 (loved the 1st one, thought 2 fell way short of 1. Still a good movie though. Loved the scene with Pi Mei) 9.) Jackie Brown (Was good, not great imo. Loved the characters especially Ordell Robbie, but the story was just ok imo.) 10.) Death Proof (only Tarantino movie that I genuinely did not like. It is definitely worth a watch just to say you watched it, but I don't like it and thats fine. They can't all be gems.)
I was looking for a comment that explained how I felt about Inglorious Basterds. Glad to have found this one, because I saw it a couple days ago and I completely agree. Waltz definitely stole the show with his performance and his character's development, and I felt like if this movie developed the actual Basterds more, then it would be higher on my list of favorites. The first scene of this movie with Waltz is a masterpiece, but the rest falls short by not delving into and really making me care about the namesake of the movie. The most compelling characters for me in this movie are Waltz's Jew Hunter character and the Nazi whose son was born earlier that day, and that says something about Inglorious Basterds. Loved the part where Brad Pitt's character tries to pull off his Italian alias to Waltz by trying to pronounce "Gorlami" in his thick American accent though 😂😂.

Kill Bill Vol. 2 9. The Hateful Eight 10. Death Proof
@@cooperwolfe5478 it's hard to have pulp over kill bill for me especially since kill bill has the edge with 2 movies rather than one, so you can invest more time with the characters. They are so closely tied in my mind because of the phenomenal storytelling from Tarantino. His talent is the most apparent in these 2 stories. I think honestly the only single thing that gives pulp fiction the edge is of course it's more of a timeless classic. The iconic features in the movie mainly the dialogue make it the best film to rewatch in all of Tarantino films. Kill bill 1&2 are still a perfect films though...

So yeah I’d say you watch it again and maybe you’ll enjoy it more the second time
You spelt Django Unchained wrong
nolanc94 me?
Reservoir Dogs is my favourite Tarantino film. I love everything about it.
Yes sir
It had the best characters out of all his films minus Jules. 🕶
The hateful eight is brilliant. Sure its a slow burner with a small plot. But relativity in cinema is important. This movie is the ultimate build-up-and-release of tension and anticipation. The exaggerated beginning just makes the 2nd half stand out more.
It's amazing but it's hard to place it higher than sixth for me because of Tarantinos standard of movies.
Yeah the Hateful eight below Jackie Brown is a joke lol 😂. I love Sean but I strongly disagree with him on this.

I would agree. It’s probably his tightest script ever. No wasted time.

I absolutely LOVE inglorious bastards. It was awesome
just watched it with my pops and it was fantastic
ye definitely in my top 3
With Tarantino its mainly great to greatest excusing death proof.
Brady Salesman hey death proof was probably QT’s worst movie but it’s still good
Including Death Proof, the end wasn't quite as sharp as the rest of his catalog, but was an otherwise fantastic movie.
Stuntman Mike, for me, is one of the great film antagonists...Russel just plays him with such devious glee.
Say what you want about death proof but Stuntman mike is still one of his best characters
I literally just finished watching pulp fiction for the first time.
All I have to say is wow

Tre Top what made Once upon a time such a great film to you?
@@Champagne_Dior the characters and design

Absolutely
The Kill Bill movies are my favourite of his. I love the style of them too and the shots and even just from an artistic view on it it’s spectacular
Kill bill Volume 2 is my favorite because of the scene where beatrix breaks through the coffin after being buried alive, it gives me the chills.

6. Hateful Eight: Bloated, but 2nd half makes up for it 8.5/10

4. Inglourious Basterds: In terms of directing, this is Tarantino's best work 9.5/10
3. Kill Bill: Volume 1 above Volume 2, but both create a truly satisfying revenge story 9.5/10
2. Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood: Emotionally moving & my two favorite characters 9.5/10
1. Pulp Fiction: Once in a generation sort of film, Tarantino's masterpiece 10/10
The ratings are all too high. His best movies are all 8-9/10. Worst are 3-4
i personally thought once upon a time in hollywood was stupid and a waste of time. brad pitt and leo were great characters but there was no story and no character development. i felt like tarantino was wasting my time while watching it
I think you have Resivoir dogs too low personally such a simple concept and low budget but he made it work so fucking well
Well I agree with #9 and #1 at least lol
I totally agree ! Growing up in the 70’s , when car chase movies thrived , I just love Death proof.
Couldn’t agree more! I absolutely love Death Proof. It’s one of my favorites by QT. I can watch it over and over, immersed in the sets, witty dialogue, and intriguing characters. I think it’s masterful. And the car chase at the end is an absolute thrill - even the the tenth time around,
Definitely his most underrated work!

no worries about your comment.
For me:

My List
1.) Django Unchained (Easily my favorite. The movie is fucking awesome!)
2.) Pulp Fiction (Its the quintessential Tarantino movie. If I had to show an Alien what a Tarantino movie was, I would show it Pulp Fiction.)
3.) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Loved it! I found myself daydreaming about how good it was days after watching it. Not as action packed as most of his other titles, but the character development and story was fucking great! Leo and Brad killed it too.)
4.) Hateful Eight (I think its a cool movie. And I dig it!)
5.) Kill Bill vol.1(I think its honestly one of his best films and was in my top 3 for a while. The ending is fucking epic! I refuse to attach it to vol. 2 because I have way different appreciations for both movies)
6.) Inglorious Basterds (For me, it gets overrated by a lot of people. More time for character development and endless possibilities for missions and different story arcs.)
7.) Reservoir Dogs (classic but doesn't stand up against his newer shit)
8.) Kill Bill vol.2 (loved the 1st one, thought 2 fell way short of 1. Still a good movie though. Loved the scene with Pi Mei)
9.) Jackie Brown (Was good, not great imo. Loved the characters especially Ordell Robbie, but the story was just ok imo.)
10.) Death Proof (only Tarantino movie that I genuinely did not like.
I was gonna leave a like on this comment but then I saw that you liked Daniel Theis.
(Jk I still left a like)

nolanc94 well everyone says that pulp fiction is a masterpiece. Not saying it isn’t just pointing out the hypocrisy here
@@louiemeister9646 pulp fiction is objectively a masterpiece, if you don't see it as a masterpiece then that's your opinion, I personally don't see it as a masterpiece.
