- The weather takes a turn for the worse on this one. The thunderstorms come rolling in bringing some much needed rain! I decided to bag myself a lean to shelter for this one and brought my twig stove to cook a nice camp dinner.
That was very nice, with the rain and thunder and lightning!! Plus the meadow before was really pretty!!
Thanks for taking me along!!
Thanks Bobbie! Yeah it's fun to be out in the storms in those shelters, just sit and watch the rain come in, under the safety of the structure
I think your videos are swell. I know you're adressing alot of other people..but when you're talking it feels like you're talking to just me. I like that
Good Afternoon Rob - Just finished this video, which was next in line from the beginning. You are a good sport, for doing your videos in all types of weather and for putting up with the bugs. I know those "skeeters" would drive me nuts also. I am originally from the NW (Oregon/Washington). We had mosquito's, but I do not remember them being quite as much of a problem, when camping. Guess I will move along to the next video. Thanks for keeping me entertained. Have a great day. Regards, Randy in Arizona
Hi Randy! I have never been to the northwest but I would love to go, the closest I have come is San Francisco, actually that's a lie I spent two months in British Columbia but that was during the winter so never experienced the summer. The bugs out here in the North East are insane in the summer, so many bogs and beaver ponds for them
epic rain and thunder storm, enjoyed the video
Love the the Yorkshire coming through lol bollocks to it !
Yorkshire all day!
Hey Robert, I think you are doing amazingly well for a relative new comer to the bush-crafting scene. Your fire skills seem to be excellent, and to me, that is the number one priority in the wild. Shelter, in my book, is second, followed by water, and food source. Fire creates comfort, warmth and security to a person alone in the wilderness setting. It also provides the heat source for cooking and for the possible sterilization of drinking water. There is NOTHING like being in the woods for relaxation, regardless of the weather! And, i think that I would rather be in the woods in cold and inclement weather. When you are too hot, it is difficult to get cool. Great videos! Please keep them coming.
I agree William, I always say if I could only bring one item it would probably be something to light a fire with. I just love a good fire, I couldn't imagine living in a state where campfires aren't allowed
Cold weather=way better! No bugs, no bears... Those two things alone make it all worth it in the winter, in my opinion.
Nice chilled camp. Thanks for sharing
Hello my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing another outdoor adventure. Your recording system does a good job of capturing the sounds of the thunder and rain. All the best to you out there on the trail. 🤗
Thanks Ronald!
Nice trip.
Hey from Newfoundland Canada here just subscribed.
The rain in that shelter must've sounded amazing! Is that shelter provided by the park? This is around the Adirondack Park rite? Some of the best memories I have camping (tent) were when it rained almost the entire time! Luckily I had a couple tarps and para cord to cover our tents. The sound was luck a drug. Anyways, get a Thermocel for the mosquitos . They're supposed to be the best! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah man it sounds so cool! Always nice to get out in the rain like that, it just hasn't Raines as much this year. Yeah the park provides a bunch of them or the state does. Cool shelters to spend the night in but they are usually pretty busy so I like to get out and explore different areas
