The aluminium on direct heat will have got to its melting point of 660ºC. The steel has a far higher melting point so did not melt. The aluminium of the tray was protected by the air gap from the base and the fact it had food in it so the heat was being transferred to that. Yes water would be needed yet you would of course steam your dinner. To use a pan as an oven you need to use steel or cast iron pan. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Sorry to see about the Trangia, very glad you still managed a meal though haha! Cracking set up, I use the same tent and sleeping bag on trips. The ev900 is a sensational bag isn't it! I'd have a look at some titanium camping gear 👍 ATB Greg
@DazzOutdoors-UK1 You would love it here, my play ground is the equivalent of your London to Brighton and over 30k wide and up to 1600 high. It's the Tararua range. Deer, pig, boars, goat, possum are there for the taking. Save up your pennies and come over for a holiday. 😊
Shame about your Trangia Dazz, I think @TeaPrep explanation of what likely occurred makes a lot of sense 👍. Apart from the Trangia episode mate, it looks like you had a much needed escape from the noise of “civilisation”, and quality time to reflect on your friends passing 🙏. “Get out there and fucking enjoy yourself” is the Dazz ethos I’ve got to know 😀. Great video again buddy, that spot is magical, roll on the community camp 🏕️
@@lifesahobby it’s originally young Dazz’s spot sir, and I was lucky enough to be cordially invited to share a fleeting moment in the life of that magical forest! 🌲🙏
Hey thank u so much really appreciate ur generosity 👍 However mine is a 27 😩 But I have just bought a boundless voyage titanium pot & pan set that fit the Trangia perfectly 👍😎
You make it wrong definitely!!! Even omnia oven they made steel bottom! Pot melt without cooling source(water, soup etc) always use steel plate on bottom then add aluminium pot so no Trangia fail it’s your mistake!
Lol .. trangia are made from aluminium. I had one of their kettles that just dissolved over time even with water . It's a bad metal but a good heat conductor. I never liked the taste off my boiled water in that kettle for that reason . It's sad that you lost your friend . Makes you think doesn't it . I know how you feel . . Here's to good nights out
nice job mate watch that run other side effects are running round naked singing blue is the colour out loud i did not know Jim small but r i p mate taken to soon
