The only way to save the gi joe travesty is that if the 3rd act reveals that cobra has had megatron the entire time. Megatron breaks free and we get the epic prime vs megatron battle we have been waiting for for EIGHT movies

The fact that ROTB decided to skip SEVEN YEARS worth of storytelling was one of the dumbest decisions that could’ve been made. One of the main reasons for this reboot was that we could be in the 80s, but now we fast forward to almost the 2000s. Why? Transformers works so much better in the 80s.
the crazy thing is they had literally no reason to move up 7 years. they could’ve told the exact same story or an even better one if they had just immediately followed after Bumblebee 😭

ROTB was fun but it felt like a one step forward two steps back from Bumblebee's quality and the universe it established. Having my hopes high for TF: One, been hearing good things about it after the reception it got during the Annecy Festival of Animation in France.
I like the idea of having your idea of a Transformers film where the protagonists are Bumblebee and Shockwave.
I absolutely agree with you that we need more cohesive of a continuity going on in modern Transformers movies. I loved ROTB, but after my recency bias wore off, I started to think about the lost potential. You hit the nail on the head when you said you'd give Shockwave a solo film if you had it your way.
I was thinking about the same topic a few weeks ago. I imagined a world where instead of getting ROTB and Transformers One to follow Bumblebee, we got a reboot involving a lot more solo features, duo features(one Cybertronian vs another), or team features(Dinobots/Wreckers/combiners vs a common enemy). These films will serve to individually characterize the protagonists featured as well as antagonists featured with ample screen time. These antagonists won't be as indiscriminately killed off as the Bayverse antagonists(they can be recurring characters). Like the MCU, there will be crossover events where these characters team up to face a greater threat, be it a Autobot, Decepticon, Neutral, or a god-like entity. For a minor crossover, Bumblebee and Jazz can team up to fight Soundwave for instance. For a major crossover, all of the previous introduced Cybertronians can team up against Unicron for example.
Minor villain examples: Lockdown, Devastator, Scorponok, Sixshot, etc. (could even have an Autobot be a minor villain in a film told from the perspective of a Decepticon)
Major villain examples(SPOILER warning!!): Megatron(he the OG), a rogue Monstructor(IDW), The Fallen, Unicron, the Quintessons
Optimus & Megatron deserves a double feature or respective solo features that tell their backstories and explain how the Great War began(Pretty much what we're getting with Transformers One, but canon to live-action, unified in aesthetic to live-action, and not involving Quintessons but rather the caste system from the comics.)
Other characters may not need their backstories told, so their feature films will be set in the present. Unlike Marvel's superheroes, TFs have had a unified story from the get-go, so instead of Soundwave and Shockwave getting their respective solo films, we can do a double feature and call the film "Soundwave vs. Shockwave". It could be about Soundwave discovering Shockwave's plans to overthrow Megatron and trying to stop him. Doubles features are the perfect opportunity to explore the nuances of 2 separate Autobots or 2 separate Decepticons by pitting them against each other, or introducing personal vendettas between a single Autobot and single Decepticon.
Human characters can be omitted during the early world-building process and only need be introduced later on if they serve plot importance.

I found your take on the TF story refreshing. No Megatron, not Optimus. Giving space for others characters to breathe and develop, to show why Bots and Cons are doing this. Hell, even making the humans relevant to the story.

Personally I think we need to focus less on Bumblebee and give actual valid mfs the chance to be the main character, that's just me though

All they had to do is give the audience what they want; a good story with well written characters we all know and love. But thanks to Lorenzo it'll never happen, which the only solution is to put the franchise in ice for 10 years of hybernation.
Who’s gonna hire this boy??? But ima say with transformers we should get - Autobots - Optimus (later on), Bumblebee, Ratchet, Prowl, Ironhide, Arcee (later on), Ultra Magnus (later on) and maybe some others. Deceptions should be Megatron (later), Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream maybe some others.
I love the casting. It’s time for these movies to stop recycling the same characters and give us more variety.
Better idea, have Elita-1, Ratchet, Jazz, Ironhide, Hound, Chromia, Drift, and Ultra Magnus, tag alongside Optimus Prime, and have them first arrived to Earth.
Then Have Bumblebee, Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen, Sideswipe, Arcee, Windblade, Cliffjumper, Bulkhead, and Wheeljack, join the Autobots your the series went on… and so on & so fourth.
If I had the reigns, one thing I would do is set up Unicron like how the MCU set up Thanos, an ultimate level threat that we may not be aware of at first, but we start to feel his looming presence as the franchise progresses until his becomes the ultimate big bad in the final film. But until then I would have relatively tame conflicts in the beginning and slowly raise the stakes in each film, and avoid unnecessary macguffins.
In the first film, it could be the initial crash landing on Earth, and stopping the Decepticons from seizing Earth's resources. In G1, it started with the Decepticons terrorizing and siphoning from an Oil Rig, a Dam, Red Crystals from Burma, etc. Kind of establishing this status quo where both side are trying to obtain a foothold on Earth.
Then, as the films move forward, Megatron's schemes get more and more ambitious, slowly introducing more Cybertronians, like the Dinobots and Devastator. Maybe the Autobots could eventually establish Autobot City, and with the help of Omega Supreme, establish interstellar travel, while the Decepticons dk the samewith Tryptacon and Astrotrain, taking the conflict to the stars. Eventually reaching the point where the Authobots take over Cybertron's moons.
Along the way, we could get lore drops, like the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron, as well as the origins of the Primes and Primus (further hinting at Unicron's upcoming arrival). With maybe the second-to-last film ending in the Decepticons invading Autobot City akin to the battle in the '86 movie. Leaving the final film to be focused on Unicron.
If there is ever enough success for a "Phase 2," maybe I could try some plot elements from G1 Season 3, or maybe the Unicron blackhole plot elements from the Unicron trilogy, who knows.
But I want whatever deaths to occur to "breathe." I want the story to acknowledge each character death as an important, impactful death, suitable for the character, no immediate revivals, I want it deaths to advance the narrative.
No scores of death that are forgotten by the very next scene. If Prime dies, like he's prone to do, I want it to impact everyone. I want the same kind of care for other deaths too.
At leadt that's my 2 cents on all this.

I really like your idea though I would add Daniel Warren Johnson(the skybound comic guy)(gotta get that skybound version of Optimus in there) and IDWs best writers to write the new movies. Also, IDK, TF One looks awesome.
Shockwave as the main villain in a Transformers film would be a good change of pace, considering how calculating and logical he is, plus he’s no slouch in combat
All I wish for is a live action war for cybertron film. Unfortunately that’s too much to ask for ☹️

It's so unreal watching one of the biggest and most successful franchises of all time be basically ignored and mistreated like it's nothing. Like, we haven't had a proper game in a decade, movies come out like once every 4 years now, and shows have not been able to reach the heights that stuff like Prime and Animated did 10+ years ago.

I think Camaro bumblebee is way too iconic and cool to leave behind. Also a design that meets the humanoid look of Bayverse (especially the knight megatron and Prime) and the blocky look of G1 would be so good

I had this idea where Bumblebee came out in 2014, and it acts as a soft reboot/start of another trilogy (a trilogy that follows up on the Shia Trilogy, but better then it). Then Age of Extinction & The Last Knight comes out in 2017 & 2018, but are vastly different movies, but are actually better than what we actually got. And thus… the Bayverse comes to an end.
Then Transformers One acts as a reboot, with its own new continuity… with Rise of the Beasts being a sequel to that film.
I make stop-motion movies, I have all of these Transformers characters. I think I can make something work.

I just want to pretend that *Age of Extinction* and *The Last Knight* don't exist, and that out of nowhere, Paramount decided to make a new Transformers movie in 2018 with a new timeline after eight years without any Transformers movies.
I'd like to see a movie that takes a lot of inspiration from the comics, both IDW and Skybound

Just imagine a post-credits scene where Optimus Prime and Ratchet are looking at something, and Optimus Prime is requiring convincing to use it. Fast forward a little bit, and Optimus Prime is now rocking Megatron’s gun arm like in Skybound. Watch the fans go OMG WTF?
Feelin every bit of this! But what if you created a new hero arc with Hot Rod becoming Rodimus Prime. And Shockwave becoming the new Dcon leader & villain in the T-universe as an established anti-hero and anti-villain mastermind after helping Hot Rod take out Megatron. I also think Starscream should get taken out by Shockwave as well. Shockwave is legit my favorite of all the transformers. ✅

@@forevercid9300 I KNOW RIGHT?!?! I actually have Ideas for how I would write my own transformers comic book series, though I'm aware that doesn't reach a broader audience. However, I think if they made a movie about the scavengers from IDW, that could be a good step in that direction. Some decepticon deserters doing whatever, and picking up Grimlock getting hunted by the DJD (Goodness knows I want to see them on the big screen), and who knows what else! I think it could help people understand who the decepticons are, and make the franchise a lot stronger that way.
Bruh bumblebee needs a voice, let the nostalgia for the live action films die. We just need a boots on the ground rendition and not some heavily “audience friendly” mess like we’ve gotten. The bumblebee solo movie had hints of what it takes and that avenue needs to be explored more and fully fleshed out. We just want the cybertronians to feel like actual people with real life problems. Also, get someone in charge that truly understands lore and appreciates it. We as true fans just want to see a product that has passion. If it’s a good story then new fans will be able to appreciate it regardless if it’s a transformers movie or not
So....the nostalgia of the previous films need to die but g1 nostalgia stays? Make that make sense....also...did you forget what this franchise mostly appeals to? Key word...it's called EVERYONE. Not just adults who want their edgy fix (WFC trilogy shows dark content doesn't always = good), a transformer story regardless of how well written is it is, in most cases will still appeal to everyone and try to balance a lighthearted and serious tone.
If prime and animated can do this then any TF movie can and so far, bumblebee was the only one to do this correctly.

I need these films to get the Spider-Verse treatment cuz I’m so fuckin sick of live action Transformers mainly cuz im rly trying to see concepts and ideas that don’t revolve around humans (crazy concept Ik) I want to be able to see a main story line of films while also diverting to wat others are doing outside the main cast of Autobots VS Decepticons akin to something like Last Stand of the Wreckers or how the war is affecting the Colony worlds and I think animation has that creative freedom and liberties to do so which is why I’m hyped for Transformers One

I wouldn’t reset the universe, I’d make a movie in the same timeline of ROTB but treat it essentially like the sequel to bumbelbee. Bring back megatron, get the cast from Bumblbee we saw on Cybertron to Earth, and fucking finally have Optimus show down with megatron and the autobots with the decepticons. Execute that well (and at this point I bascially have an entire story layer out which would do the job), and you’ve secured the Transfomers franchise AND a fat buck too
To be honest I think rise of the beasts is the BEST transformers movie and bumblebee was technically the main character of the Micheal bay verse and mirage was the main robot character of rise of the beasts so here’s what I would do I would make Optimus prime the main character and the main human character if the rock was able to join in I would hire him if he wants to and the heights would be this megatron would be 24 feet tall and Optimus prime would be 20 feet tall and bumblebee would be 14 feet tall while mirage would be 16 feet tall and wheeljack would be 18 feet tall and shockwave would be 23 feet tall the reason why I would make megatron 24 feet tall it would because I want Optimus prime to be afraid of him and the designs would be the rise of the beasts designs and bumblebee movie conpect art but wheeljack would have his bumblebee head and the Optimus prime design would just be a tiny bit more of a modern day freightliner truck because my transformers timeline would take place in 2025 to 2035 because why not and megatron would be his cybertron tank mode if I could make a transformers stop motion series it would be this and I would make unicron legit look like his rise of the beasts design but he would look more horrifying so basically would like a demon or him if you know you know but he won’t be as big as caseoh NO HATE TO CASEOH but yea anyway bye if I ever became a transformers director I would try to make sure the transformers verse is perfect I don’t want no fatty producer I hate that producer I don’t know how to type his name he is like Lanzero or something I know I shouldn’t be mean to him like calling him fat but he really did make the franchise in my opinion fail a bit more so if anything if I had the power I would fire him and do my stuff the way I want transformers and also the way the fans want transformers if anything as much as I do think rise of the beasts was the best film at first I had it at 10/10 but now as I think of it it’s a 9/10 but it’s still my favourite one anyway bye

I’m so glad u brought up the heights. I’ve felt like the Transformers haven’t really been tall enough since Bumblebee. They don’t have to be massive behemoths like in the bayverse but I feel like giving them a height boost would add to the awe and wonder of the Cybertronians. I also love the idea of having the movies set in 2025 - 2035. it’ll to make things feel fresher and more updated

I actually like shockwave and it would be interesting to see him on the big screen as the antagonist because there’s a lot you can do with him and he’s really dark. I just seen that video speaking about the heinous things he has done it would make for an interesting movie. but I think a main problem that’s really holding back these transformers and movie is a team team that understands the source material and wants to elevated the franchise even more, but we can’t have that problem that many people have with this movie is the producer Lorenzo he’s been holding his back to franchise, and even when it was rebooted, he forced The statement that the bumblebee movie and the rise of the beast are connected to the Michael Bay Transformers continuity, which they’re not I really do not know why he’s trying this hard. I really think they need a new producer a team that will be dedicated to film these movies but seriously they really need to let go of Lorenzo he’s just an anchor holding down this franchise. Here’s how Hasbro can save the Transformers franchise after the G.I. Joe crossover movie: They soft retcon certain thing from ROTB and subsequent films (in a sense, make it more of a direct sequel to Bumblebee) and use the cancelled script for “Transformers 1990” as a basis. Give the fans what they want: good movies (and potentially TV series and other media) that has a blend of action, humor and heart. Give us great action, but it’s nothing without a heartfelt story and developed characters. Also, go back to the Bumblebee designs and don’t kill characters off every movie. I get it’s a war, but why kill established characters with only a few minutes of screen time.

Use Travis Knight and some other filmmakers’ plan that they set up:
1. Bumblebee and Optimus Prime buddy movie
2. Optimus Prime solo movie that showcases his escape from Cybertron
3. Live-action TV series that sets up Megatron as the big bad (potentially a Sector 7 show set after Bumblebee where Megs first arrives on Earth).
4. Live-action Beast Wars movie that sets up all of the Maximals and Predacons, hints at potentially reappearing alongside the Autobots and Decepticons.
5. Use the original pitch for a Bumblebee sequel that is set primarily in Brooklyn that follows Optimus Prime (with a more G1/Prime personality) and a team of other Autobots helping out Noah and his family while being hunted by Megatron and the Decepticons. After playing a game of cat and mouse, the Autobots find the Decepticon base at Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa and destroy it, ending Megatron’s plan of dominating the universe.
Man they can save it by not doing the gi joe crossover, the series is long gone
Here’s a solution number one to transformers movies. Don’t give a damn about live action stuff. Give damn about new animated movies.
This seems like a good idea. The only problem I have is that optimus wouldn't be a good guy for the first 2 movies at least. Those who would be coming into the series blind wouldn't really care that optimus is evil because they haven't been attached to this version of him. I would probably just add a movie where they are on cybertron and it is about the war so you can get attched to Optimus and Megatron and it would be cool to see a movie about the war on cybertron.
well, Bumblebee did reference Charlie not by name, but by saying 'They are my friends', but Optimus says 'I know one was kind to you, but we can only trust our own kind' or something like that.but what my point is, that small detail means that the Bumblebee movie is connected to RotB. And I agree with them saying the BayVerse is not connected to the reboot and I believe that the animated prequel trilogy is connected to the reboot in some way or another
If I were to be in charge of a Transformers reboot universe, I would make the movies be animated instead of live-action. I would make the animation look hyper-realistic, yet stylized at the same time. I would hire some writers that worked on the IDW Transformers comics. The movies themselves should have a darker tone, but it would also have a light-hearted tone. As for the roster of characters, starting with the Autobots, my roster would include Bumblebee, Jazz, Ratchet, Arcee, and Bulkhead. Optimus Prime will show up in later films, as well as Megatron. Speaking of which, my Decepticon roster includes Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, Barricade, Knock-Out, Lugnut, Skywarp, Thundercracker, and Slipstream.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind a movie that looks like the transformers fall of cybertron cinematic trailer. I also love that u mentioned how the tone should be dark and light hearted. A war story shouldn’t be all rainbows and sunshine but at the same time u don’t want to make audiences depressed after watching your movie.
Honestly i loved Rise of the beasts but it felt a bit rushed and confusing at times. They completely forgot about the beast characters. Theres still a chance for a good save here. They should slow things down after the joe crossover. Just take the current Skybound comics for the foundation & integration of the joes because Duke series has been pretty cool and slowly move forward along the timeline. No heavy time jumps after ROTB. Just keep it in that era & world & whats been set up and rethink the direction & build more of the world out.

They need to tell TF stories that isnt the generic bayverse film about a mcguffin from a million years ago found on earth where the good and bad guys need to drive the film leading to a chase fight chase fight. You can make any other plot that doesnt revolve around a mcguffin from a bagillion years
They need to hire writers with not only a good track record when it comes to movies but a full understanding of Transforners.
And yes make the transformers feel like characters give them goal, belifs and background on why they became a bot or con.

I do feel like it can still work as long as the mcguffin isn’t something stupid like the seed, transwarp key, or the staff. if you’re they’re gonna keep going down that route they need to introduce mcguffins that actually hold significance and make for interesting interactions between the characters. but they do desperately need to come up with fresher plots

that’s so true. there’s so much history you can go into with that instead of just having them be enemies because the lore says so. i’m actually glad that Transformers One is gonna explore it more but I’m not sure if that movie is even tied to the live action movies.

i’ve seen this entire series it’s one of my favorite pieces transformers content on the platform. phoenix studios actually motivated me to start making transformers content.

Everything you're cookin smells fine, but the one ingredient i dont like is Bumblebee not having a voice, hows he supposed to lead Autobots without a voice, just a contradictory creative decision i find and a trope thats been done to death, obviously this is your vision, but with the criticism from me, the 'Bumblebee cant speak' trope has gotta go
i definitely agree that it’s been overdone to death 😭. i’d personally only do it for the first film just to make megatron more intimidating and create some adversity for bee to overcome.
