Just for anyone who wants all the measurements and ingredients for the bread dough written out:
2 1/2 cup Flour
3/4 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Oil
3/4 Warm water
1 tbsp Yeast (add a little bit of water to it)
Baking time = 25-30 mins
Hope it saves u a bit of time at least! :)
What kind of flour do you use?
Bread or sr?
It doesn't say in the video but I used sr and it turned out pretty well
Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much. 💓
no sugar to activate the yeast?
for a nice dip.. 1/2 cup GOOD Olive oil, 1tsp Oregano, 1tsp crushed Red Pepper, 1/2 tsp. fresh black pepper, 1tsp Granulated Garlic, 1/3 cup Pecoromino Cheese, mix WELL, dip your crusty Italian bread in that, and enjoy 👍🍞😁
Mark Machaby is it active or instant yeast? Does it matter?
personally like bakers yeast.
@@jenro3313 He uses dry active in every recipe I've seen. Take care
What is good olive oil. It seems like all my store has is shit
👍
I love how he breaks his own rule and opens the oven to show us how beautiful it is ❤️
Yeah 😄😄😄

Brad Sommers I can confirm this comment! 😃
This is, I believe, my favorite cooking channel of all time! It’s certainly my single favorite food-making video. I stumbled onto the channel last night...and I made the bread today. Two loaves, exactly as you said and showed. They turned out great! I’m 73 years old, and have been cooking all my life. But other than biscuits, cornbread, flatbreads and similar quick breads, have never baked “real” risen bread. I think this is about as easy and foolproof as cooking/baking gets...in part because you show it to be so, and don’t fuss over the details. Life is too short and too wonderful to worry and fuss, and you understand that and appreciate the simple blessings. So thank you, Sir, for this bread making lesson, for your terrific attitude and personality, and for caring enough to share it with all of us. You have made life-mine for sure-richer and better! I can’t wait to watch and try your other dishes!
Its such a joy to see a master doing what he enjoys.
I use this recipe every time I'm going to make bread, but I have to let your audience know, this recipe makes a fabulous pizza crust, so easy to use, so delicious. Thank you for this
I was just wondering about this! Imma definitely try it!
And a great Stromboli! #EssingtonPA
I miss my grandma a lot, she passed in 2017 and you remind me of her so much Pasquale, one of the many reasons I watch your channel so much. I love Italian food, your style, your attitude, I generally get along with older people, I would love to spend a day with you and your cooking. Thank you for not changing, thank you for these wholesome videos. It brings my mood up so much.
❤️🙏
I made this recipe today. Am eating it right now with olive oil and a glass of wine... Was AMAZING! Thank You - SALUTE!
I just made some homemade ravioli , now I'm looking for a good bread recipe to go with them !
Your forgetting the blunt afterwards lol
Who's living better than this guy? Nobody
you`re right.
Apples really don't do much.
Yes. Nonno is living his best life!! 🥰🥰
The family that sits around his table at every meal, that's who!
I made this bread for the second time yesterday, and instead of dividing the dough to make 2 loaves, I made one large one. I used a stoneware covered baker the second time around, and it was one of the best loaves of bread I've ever made. It looked and tasted better than any loaf of bread from any store or bakery. The crust, crumb and flavor of this bread is incredible! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and recipes with us!
Sir, you make everything look so enjoyable and easy. I think it’s your wonderful attitude and love of food. Thank you.....going to try this recipe for sure!! 🤗
yes, enjoyable and easy . this is point!! haha
I love it when he talks to the oven in Italian! So darn cute. Salude y cin cin
I love how he compliments himself , “look at this I mix it good” 😂❤️
SoCal Unrated lol thank you! Idk you but I bet you are too ☺️
I am impress its
I think it's a part of what makes him so enjoyable to watch.
Hannah F. He’s awesome!
hahaha I agree~~ "look at this~~"
Every time I watch one of your videos I get a nice glass of wine and reminisce about my Nonno. God Bless. You are amazing.
I made this and it turned out awesome. My family is from a little town in Italy called Senerchia and you talk just like them and makes me miss them. God Bless you and can't wait to make more of your recipes!
Can I make it without the stone in the oven or will a baking sheet be fine?
Do you have a convection oven?
@@emiliaherrera3073 It certainly looks like he did but he had a gas stove
@@MsMomof3boyz too bad nobody answered you but of course you can make it with just a baking sheet. If you wanna get a good crust then you would put a roasting pan on the bottom shelf while preheating the oven then after you put the bread in the oven you’ll pour some hot water into the roasting pan and that will create steam and give you a really nice crust
I believe this is like the bread I had from a restaurant 50 years ago. I have been looking for a recipe for it since then. The restaurant made wonderful Italian sandwiches, and the bread was the magic ingredient in the sandwich. I can't wait to bake this!

Have you made the recipe based off of your measurements? Usually a conversion is different than an actual weight of what a baker is using.

I love this channel. It’s my go to when making Italian meals (no I’m not Italian but LOVE Italian food). Whenever a new video comes out, I say "oh yea baby (in my Pasquale voice...lol)". My husband knows right away who I’m talking about. I’ve learned so much. Thank you!
Ohhyebaby!!!
I love this gentleman. He is very clear with his instructions, his recipes are easy to follow and are delicious. I grew up in restaurant kitchens and trust me, his food is excellent and unpretentious. The bloopers are hilarious. Bless your heart sir.
That italian bread🍞looks absolutely delicious. A must make! I like how he pronounces 'yeast' 😀
All Italians say east. I love it
“One tablespoon East” haha we love you grandpa! ❤️
Aneesa H. In Italian it’s Nonno
I know, it's cute how he doesn't pronounce the "y".
Aneesa H. 😂👍😊
Italian cuisine is my favorite, I have to admit. Why? Rafinesse, c'est ca! Spaghetti alio olio, peperoncini e prezzemolo (I hope that is correct)...you will like it, I promise.
Thanks from Germany, thank you Pasquale🇮🇹☺️👍
The letters J, K, W, X and Y are not part of the proper alphabet. Back when I was a kid my nonna would get letters from z'Aida addressed to Briggs Ave., New Jork.
I’ve been watching some of your old videos recently and I have to say the video quality and editing has really improved and I love your channel.
They are really great :)
Thank you!! We have changed it up quite a bit and weren't sure if many people even noticed. Happy to hear you still enjoy the videos :)
@@OrsaraRecipes we have noticed! You guys are doing great.. I make a bunch of your recipes for my family and they love them. Keep up the good work..
I recently retired and decided to attempt to make bread like my father. I never took the time to learn from him. Finding your channel and watching you feels like I am watching him. Thank you for the video.
This gentleman is everybody’s nonno ❤️ thank you for the recipes!
Hats off to the chef, ...I always enjoy watching your videos. God Bless.
This is officially my favorite video on UA-cam. I sat here and smiled the entire time listening to him. ❤ can’t wait to make this today!
Thank you for taking the time to teach us how to prepare lovely meals.
And how to appreciate a Great Chef such as yourself.
I haven't seen one dish that wasn't mouth watering.
You Sir are the BEST!
This channel has grown so much! I love watching him. He reminds me of my dad, who I dearly miss.
Beautiful! This is what a real Italian does. My family is from Sicily and this is the exact same recipe my mother makes. Wonderful, thank you Seniore Pasquale. 🥖👨🍳
I made bread for the first time yesterday following this recipe and my kids loved it! Thank you so much, sir and blessings to you and your family!
I made my bread yesterday! It was amazing! I shared with my neighbor! She loved it too! I’m going to be making this bread all the time now! Thank you! 💜
I want to make this do you think a stand mixer would be ok to mix it with?
I’ve been waiting for you to make bread. Making it for tomorrow’s dinner.
Yup. Me too! I just asked Pasquale last week for a bread recipe and, there it is! Mangia bella pane!
I've made this three times and each time it turned out great.
I've tried 4 times and every time I go to make the cuts in the top, it deflates. I'm trying the last time. Idk what I'm doing wrong. It tastes good but the loaf won't hold the shape for me it's too light I guess..
This guys definitely got life figured out! Bread, olive oil, and a great wine.
I’m so happy I found your channel! What an absolute joy you are to learn from!! Your bread looks amazing & I can’t wait to try it! Then, I’m going to binge watch all of your videos while I enjoy the bread with a glass of wine!❤❤
Hello my friend, that is some beautiful bread you make, everything is easy to follow, nice job again, salute to everyone there and thank you for sharing your nice recipes!
This guy makes me happy. Love seeing the joy that cooking and baking brings him. He has inspired me to make my own homemade pasta and marinara sauce tomorrow as well as this Italian bread too. Keep cooking bud.
Pasquale = America’s Grandfather. We love you!! 💕
The Italian bread came out fantastic. My wife loved it. I showed her your videos, and told her it came from you. Thanks again for such great recipes and contents. Making bite size pizzas using the other loaf later today.
Rodan Danner did you also you stone in the oven? I want to make this but what to put in place of the big stone!
@@isabellaferretti3977 yes I did use my pizza stones. It makes a world of a different.
Just watched your Homemade Italian Bread video for the 1st time today. I am 72 yrs old and just learning how to cook (long story). You are a great teacher and have a wonderful and simple way for others to follow you while you cook. I will begin making bread today!....Thanks to you!!!
I'll be making this later on today, once I get off from work. I have made different breads in the past, but this recipe is what I've been looking for. Simple and to the point. That looks delicious. Thank you.
You are my most favorite Italian cook and instructor. Easy and simple instructions to follow. ❤
I stumbled upon your channel today after watching someone else cook an Italian dish. I’ve been binge watching and love your upbeat, easygoing attitude and love of cooking! Been looking for a bread recipe like this for sooo long! THANK YOU for sharing your passion! Can’t wait to try this bread as well as others I’ve watched today! 😊🥰
I love how happy he gets when the bread makes noise! Awesome video!
Just made this bread.
It came out so delicious and the crust is crispy. Ate half loaf with butter. My bad, but delicious.
The easiest bread I have made, super simple.
What temp did you do and what flour type?
So sweet I felt as if I was receiving a private tutorial. I am excited to make this bread. I just need to check on the measurements again. It is wonderful to see family working together!
Finally, a recipe that’s easy to do and looks fantastic! Thanks, Pasquale.
I watched this video last night and so enjoyed Pasquale. Love the fact that he wants to teach us with such a wonderful sense of humor and mischief. Decided to make this bread this morning. Easy recipe, good instructions and demo. My house smelled so good, reminded me of when I was little and would go to my mother’s family Italian bakery. The bread is delicious and I too had a hard time waiting for 5 minutes to cool. I’d give this bread a 10 but that’s reserved for my family Spaziani bread so I give it a 9.9. Thanks Pasquale. Pasquale, you are an inspiration! In the early 1990’s watching you create menu delights out of “whatever you find in the fridge” persuaded me to go to Culinary School, where I completed my advanced degree in Culinary Arts. You are the best! My wife and I loved your show then and, of course, watching you now is a treat!
This is my new favorite video on the internet 😩❤️ lol. Nonno is so genuinely happy just making his bread and teaching us his ways. Tomorrow I’m making this recipe. CAN’T WAIT😍
Salute and chin chin to you! I have been watching your You tube videos for many years and I have enjoyed making your recipes with and for my family. I will be making one of your bread recipes in the next day or two. Thank you for your wonderful attitude, high energy and making me smile. God Bless You and I wish you health, happiness and love, Violet
i gasped when i saw that loaf, i have never seen prettier bread!

I would wait all day for one of his loaves. Sipping wine and laughing with this man.
God bless you grandpa ❤️ All your recipes are simple.
410 degrees ? Now that’s a person who knows exactly what to do for perfection.
I made this bread about 6 wks ago and it came out great. I'm making it again now to go w/my corned beef and cabbage. Bellisimo
Aww, he sounds just like my dad when he speaks in English, I love it! Also, I'm definitely going to make this bread!
Best bread I've ever had! My family heritage is from Sicily and it's amazing to have your recipes!
I followed this recipe, my first time making bread. It turned out great! Thanks chef Pasquale!
410°f for 25 to 30min. Awesome video love this guy! Thanks for showing my family how to make this wonderful bread
This is everything I didn't know I needed in my life
I love that guy!! I was in Bologna for 7 weeks and loved it, they're so meticulous in everything they do and take great pride in their work.
I have my son making this right now. Thank you 🙏
Thank you, you gave me courage to try baking bread for the first time at age 72! We just finished our spaghetti dinner and ate 2/3 of the bread. Mine was somewhat different looking but was great. Your presentation is great and you make it fun to watch. I will be trying other of the recipes you show. Thank you so much. Oh, my wife said to say thank you too.
I just printed out the recipe and I am on my way to the kitchen right now. I started making my own bread as a new hobby and I think that this one will become a favorite..... Thanks for sharing this !!
Hope you enjoy!
i have been making bread for years, but just started adding sprouted flour. it is amazing. your body digests it like vegetables not like a carb. get wheat berries, soak, let sprout and mill. amazing what it does to all your baked goods. blessings
mai pi what exactly is sprouted flour and where to get it, thank you!
@@Mairatxxx its when you sprout the wheat berries so they can be better digested. you can do it your self as well. get wheat berries. soak for 8-10 hrs, drain then put in a jar to sprout. takes almost a day. then dry them out and grind with a mill or hand grinder. i think bob red mill might carry sprouted wheat flour. it is so much better for you and you can even taste the difference. sorry it took so long to respond. blessings
I just made the bread following your recipe. I have tried another recipe years back , didn’t find out good , so I gave up. But today Bread came out amazing. My family loved it. I wish I had found your channel years back, love the way you explain everything and loved you video as well.

This looks fantastic Pasquale, I will try this today right now. Italian bread is my favorite and I am ready to try to make it.
Edit OMG...finally, I've made some good bread 😊 I have tried other recipes and one was even tasty but so hard you could really hurt someone with it if thrown...not sure why... anyway.

Yay!!! I needed a video how to make homemade bread!!!!
Made my first 2 loaves today. Turned out great. Thanks for sharing.
1) You remind me of my grandfather, he was a chef and he cooked like that “How much salt is that grandpa?”. “Eets like dis much”. 2). You should do a crossover episode with Buon-A-Petitti (Italian Grandma makes...) on UA-cam. She’s not too far away over in Howell.
I just came across this by chance and this is my favorite cooking tutorial ever. I can't wait to see the rest of his recipes. He's wonderful!
OMG, I want a piece of that bread! I'm going to have to give that a try, even though I don't have the stone or the pizza peel.
Pancha Pistolas take a sheet pan put in the oven upside down and let it get hot while the oven preheats and use another sheet pan upside down as a peel to slide the bread in, works good in a pinch.

B Clark did you use the heated stone in the oven as he did? I don’t have one. Would you happen to know if it would work without one?
