This made me want to play a Seraph, and I never play Paladins OR Clerics. I guess the Peanut Butter Cup thing got me. I still hold that "Seraph" is NOT a good name for this class. A fantastic name for a Heritage! But a "seraph" is not a profession…it's an angel. It's just an angel. I keep looking in dictionaries to be proven wrong, but haven't found an alternative definition yet that implies that someone can *learn to be* a Seraph. Otherwise, love this freakin' game so far!!
Does a class HAVE to be a profession though? The fantasy of roleplaying games allow that, you can just pretend that Seraph's are rarer than say... clerics and paladins in other fantasy verses and whom may yet get their own spins as classes anyhow... still equally common in gameplay perks in terms of class adventuring options and the odd villain because Adventurers and their adversaries are always intended to be 'beyond the norm' in many ways anyhow EVEN at lvl 1, but as the concept is that they are basically 'god touched' and literally gain wings in one of the subclasses regardless of ancestry, it seems like the Seraph class is easier expressed something you 'become' or are 'made into' rather than something you choose. I'm not convinced there's a good argument for why all the classes have to be akin to choosing a 'profession'... a class just need to act as the base thematic archetype of your character... there could be all sorts of 'lore' related 'classes' in the future that 'chose the character' rather than the character 'choosing their profession'...... if that makes any sense. From that perspective I think Seraph is a suitable class concept, it might just currently be sort of the 'odd duck out' when gauged against the rest of the current crop of available classes.
Great video. I definitely prefer the divine wielder to the winged sentinel. especially since you can already take a winged race like fairies, so you have the best of both anyway. You didn't like your frog wearing armor but you missed the one card that would allow them not to need armor.
Great video And too awser your question : about the seraph in real world lore a seraph is a angel in cristian mythologie they are the highest ranking Angels and are characterized by their 6 wings also they are often depicted as red symbolyzing fire
I think that Daggerheart could consider not forcing the Seraph to be bound to a god. There's a lot of inclusivity in the rest of the material and it seems odd that a god is written so forcefully into their class description. I think it could easily be anyone that has a magical oath that ties them to any powerful creature or magical land or even the power of love or friendship. I think there's a lot of people that might like the vibes of a Seraph but want to play in a setting without gods or who are atheistic and just uncomfortable with having to be so tightly tied to a god.
Does it really have to be so dramatic?.... I'd rather you just clear the isle and get there :).... can't wait to hear yer final awesome workout.... just don't really wanna hear all yer side babble!...... thanks for yer help!
