I agree Yeah, it's cool and cinematic-looking, but it's important to remember that the player is going to undergo several hundred battles (possibly upwards of a thousand depending on how much they play). Having so much movement and animation can become physically sickening (in my case) and/or time-wasting in the eyes of the player. I often see that, during nuzlocke runs, players will turn off battle animations (or equip some sort of fast forward through ported games) the instant that they start a run because it's so much time wasted on something that they've already seen hundreds of times before. Imo I think that, for a game like pokemon, those repetitive transitions should be follow the three S's: Short, Sweet, Subtle. Or alternatively, the animations should be made short and incredibly unique so that they never get old.

Genuine feedback: love the style, how it works, the effort put in and the fact this is how a remake could look if GF put the effort in. Don’t like the low camera angle, feel it should be slightly higher. Amazing work. Well done.
This is amazing. The fact that you were able to create all of this is quite impressive. If I could give any feedback as a fan it would be a bunch of nit picky stuff. I do do believe that the details are important tho. I think the battles could have been done a bit better. I'm not a huge fan of that camera angel. If you had more time to work on it I would say you could add more detailed sprites just like in the main games when you go into battle. I think another set of angles for the characters when they are walking diagonally away from the camera would be nice as well. Overall I think you killed it with the overworld. It looks beautiful. All the sprite work looks fantastic.
I haven't kept up with Pokemon, but creators with ideas like you are what truly keeps me hoping the franchise improves or at least get adopted by other games in the genre. This looks awesome and must have taken ages.

Ive had this idea in my head since Octopath came out. I feel like a gen 5 remake would be gorgeous in an Octopath style HD-2D style game. This art with a proper looking pokemon battle system would be killer.
This is 100% exactly what I'm hoping for with the gen 5 remakes I can't even fathom how excited I would be to see the octopath team themselves working on it too
This looks pretty good. How ever, here are a few things I would have changed: Our pokemon's health bar lower down, enemy's health bar higher up walking behind trees makes the trees block a lot of the view, so resizing them or changing the camera angle should fix this
One man, had to learn a game engine, with no prior experience in pixel art, and still made a better potential product than ILCA, and maybe gamefreak...
Bro came out of nowhere and dropped heat. Jokes aside, this is incredible!! Not only was the project super well done, but the video was really entertaining to watch! Good stuff!!!
8:25 Can I just say the UI focusing on the trainers in battles feels just like the anime. “What should oshawott do?” And the commands called out, mostly the information the game gives go player is run through the trainer thinking! I really like this in world connection to the mechanics~
Awesome work dude! Looks amazing! The lighting and depth really capture the colours and mood of the original. I love the small glowing particles in the air adding that extra bit of atmosphere and depth. I would not be upset if pokemon went this route with remakes, but I know gamefreak won't want to give up all their 3D re-use, even if it's like BDSP where the dex is limited to the original pokemon.
I Imagine them saying "heck nah that sounds like we would have to do actual work we can't be doing that to our 2 employees and definitely not on our $10 budget"
Okay this is wild and super cool! Thank you so much for making something I probably would've just seen in my imagination. Great job on the sprite work too. Looking forward to seeing attack animations.

broo that's awesome work here ! You did very well ! nice vids
i hope to see more spicy projects of yours ;)
Genuine feedback: love the style, how it works, the effort put in and the fact this is how a remake could look if GF put the effort in. Don’t like the low camera angle, feel it should be slightly higher.
Amazing work. Well done.
Ngl this felt weird seeing this in OPT graphics but man your cooking real good dude. This looks extremely awesome
This is an incredible job! Inspiring me to carry on with my pixel art!
I haven't kept up with Pokemon, but creators with ideas like you are what truly keeps me hoping the franchise improves or at least get adopted by other games in the genre. This looks awesome and must have taken ages.
Hello, I'm from Chile, I've been a Pokémon fan since I can remember, I learned to read and write practically by playing, since my earliest childhood my Pokémon companions have accompanied me until today when I'm 25 years old.
I just wanted to thank you for what you are doing, you have no idea how special this project is for people like us, I will be attentive to your updates and I will tell everyone who is interested, please let our love for this saga continue to live on people like you.
with a lot of love and hope for your project, a veteran Pokémon trainer ❤
This is absolutely INCREDIBLE work❤. SO much skill and talent in recreating this in the octopath traveller style. I loved black and white as it was the first game that made the sprites move around when static, the style was incredible, it felt alive! It's what I always wanted a pokemon game to be. This has recreated that feeling. I feel like they lost a lot when transitioning to 3D. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful work ❤
Actually goated. Do post this on r/pokemon so that you get the attention you deserve
Agreed 💯👍
Wow!! Incredible work sir! Subbed! I'm looking forward to what ever you conjure up next.
Dammnnnn. Great work! Better then the current pokemon games. Please continue working on your remake and maybe, just maybe you could publish it and make it playable for us too!
It would get taken down but if you look at palworld and its very creative mons like green scorbunny a very original and legit game in this style would be top %percentage%

Oh my god, the memories of playing Octopath...
Thank you. :3
God I love the actual 3D they use for this game, it's so charming.
Ive had this idea in my head since Octopath came out. I feel like a gen 5 remake would be gorgeous in an Octopath style HD-2D style game. This art with a proper looking pokemon battle system would be killer.
This is 100% exactly what I'm hoping for with the gen 5 remakes
I can't even fathom how excited I would be to see the octopath team themselves working on it too
This looks pretty good. How ever, here are a few things I would have changed:
Our pokemon's health bar lower down, enemy's health bar higher up
walking behind trees makes the trees block a lot of the view, so resizing them or changing the camera angle should fix this
amazing job, but imo the pokemon are way too far from each other and the camera zooms in way too fast, besides that you cooked, you deserve more subs
Well its not a finished work but your right it could use those improvements. Would be amazing if finishing it was the goal.
This is literally my dream game. Thank you for giving me at least a taste of it.
One man, had to learn a game engine, with no prior experience in pixel art, and still made a better potential product than ILCA, and maybe gamefreak...
Deadass would love if this exploded in popularity just to support u
3:36 Pókemon black and white are 2.5D games (3D graphics)
Franchement, gros respect pour ton travail, t’es fort. On va suivre ta progression et tes projets, force à toi pour la suite.
You really said, "fine, I'll do it myself."
Holy shit the vision is real!!!
The amount of time and effort you put into this video and demo is impressive. Looking forward to seeing what other kinds of things you are working on
Imagine this would be the style for the Gen 5 remakes and you’re getting hired for it
I Imagine them saying "heck nah that sounds like we would have to do actual work we can't be doing that to our 2 employees and definitely not on our $10 budget"
@@vaelegoro7782 sounds more realistic
love it so much, watched the whole video and was so surprised to see only 2k views, keep going
Fans: "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave, with a box if scraps"
Gamefreak: "I'm not Tony Stark"
You did really well with this. Also fun to watch. Subscribed!
9:15 if you want to just see the finished product.
Okay this is wild and super cool! Thank you so much for making something I probably would've just seen in my imagination. Great job on the sprite work too. Looking forward to seeing attack animations.
nintendo hire this man
Nintendo doesn’t make Pokémon games
Mate this is brilliant! Stoked to see this result of an HD-2D recreation of pokemon
I want all 2D pokemon Game wiht HD 2D Graphic rather than trash 3D low quality Cash-grab
Pokémon has been 3D since gen 4
this feels more like pokemon than any of the modern games ive played over the last 10 years, you did an amazing job here man
Not to be hating, but the original game still looks better in my opninion. The colors and shapes make it look more visually appealing.
You should be really proud because this is really amazing, absolutely fantastic work! You have the 2.5 D style and even the atmosphere down to a t and it’s pretty much convinced me this should be how gen 5 is remade now!
cant really understand your voice when the music is 3x louder
I want official pixel art pokemon back omg this is so good, i wish we had a full game like this
horrible
A shame we probably won’t be able to play it. Looks neat
I don’t like this style. I mean congrats for doing this but I personally really hope we won’t ever play in this kind of artstyle
While I like the camera placement of the original games much more, this vidual style is beautiful, would love to see a combo of the two.
Looks awful sorry
Fantastic work, this is what the remakes should be aiming to look like
Not gonna lie it doesn't look good at all I don't want a game like this
The style seems very intriguing, and it fits extremely well. Excellent work yo!
Sorry but that style is ugly regardless of how it’s executed
That was insanely dope, congrats man 🫡
Honestly one of the greatest recreations from my two favorite series! Phenomenal work man!
this is such a TREAT to look at omg ! Keep up the good work it's incredible man !!!
