- Refrigerator Too Cold? - Top 5 reasons and EASY DIY instructions to get your refrigerator back to working order.
Reason #1 - Air Damper: This device helps balance the airflow from the evaporator fan housing to the rest of the unit. This is normally a mechanically controlled part, so it can become damaged and allow too much cold air to enter the fridge compartment.

Reason #2 - Temperature Sensor: Also known as a thermistor, the temperature sensor controls the temperature within the fresh food compartment and the frozen compartment, respectively. The thermistor for the fridge can become defective, causing the appliance to get too cold and even freeze food that is supposed to only be refrigerated.
Reason #3 - Main Control Board: There are sensors connected to this board that monitor the
temperature in the refrigerator and inform the compressor, fans, and other systems as to when they need to run. This ensures a perfectly balanced temperature, but if the control board is
faulty, it could lead to a fridge that is too cold.
Reason #4 - Cold Control: This part, also called a temperature control, monitors the
temperature inside the refrigerator and tells the fans and compressor when to kick
on if it gets too warm. The control has wires that could become frayed or shorted. If this sensor control is defective, it could impact the fridge’s ability to regulate temperature.
Reason #5 - Temperature Control Board: Some models of refrigerator have a separate temperature control board that monitors and controls the temperature of the refrigerator. They usually have a display to show the temperature. It's unusual for them to fail, but corrosion could cause an inaccurate reading.

Good one ! Exactly the depth that I'm probably going to need for this too-cold fridge just bought for a hundred bucks. Tomorrow will tell.
Good quality, no frills instruction video.
thank you for your time, very helpfull.
This is very helpful for me as a appliance technician
You are very welcome!
Freezer too cold (-10), but refrigerator is just right at 37. Damper opens and closes. Built in diagnostics say both thermistors are good. All other built-in checks sat.
No frost in freezer. Any ideas?
My fridge is making everything freeze. The controls for the fridge are stuck on 7. I have attempted to reset the fridge and unplug it but nothing has helped. Do you think it could be the control board?
WHERE do you get the tech sheets?
Mine were stuffed in back of the bottom, removable kick panel. (Removable plastic piece in lower front protecting condenser coils, etc.)
What if we’re not so lucky? Where do we find it?
Does your website have tech sheets?
"In our case the [ambient temperature] is about 73 degrees F" Thermometer reads 72.2... ???

Your subject line should include the required Eletrical current tester. Required!! A home owner must go by this before wasting time watching this video. .
Multimeter at Harbor Freight. Cheapest one $7.00!!! Most expensive = $45.00.
Still, a LOT CHEAPER than a service call. Your Call!
Usually repairing your own things at home require tools. So that means if your going to try and repair something that has electrical components you might also need some basic electrical tools. Common sense.
It's obvious by your question you don't have the skills to be competent DIY'er. Just call for service until you educate yourself.
Way way too complicated. bring back 1972 model whirlpool. No electric board. Temperature control and temperature sensor the same bimetallic construction, nothing to break,
Is there anything we can help you with?
Soooo....you took the time to type a comment to whine???
Talks too fast and eat up a lot of the words. Hope you could talk slowly and clearly. That would be much more helpful. Thanks.
I understood every word. Did you ever consider you're too slow to comprehend? Maybe consider using UA-cam settings, where you can speed up or slow down the video.
