I love these videos! You explain everything like my best friend would, patient, with a genuine love of giving, and fun! I even dream of these crafts with your voice in my head... really, I am not weird, right? 😄 Thank you so much, Jennifer!!
I love Jennifer. She is fantastic and always super helpful and not all over the place like some other vids.. I have had my maker for just about a year and she makes me confident enough to use it. These vids are absolutely amazing. I hope I can get a knack for some of these fantastic crafts.. thank you again Jennifer
I never thought to use the easy press! I've been wanting to burn some wooden utensil handles for Christmas gifts this year, and my mini press would be SO perfect for that!
Love the designs! Thank you. I enjoy each and every one of your tutorials. Lately, you've reminded me of Mr. Rogers. I soooo miss watching him! Btw, I have the same heat gun. It's come in handy many times.
Thank you so much for watching, Renee'! Your comment means so much to me!! My intro's on the step in front of the door was inspired by my love of Mr. Rogers! ❤
I have had the same problem with the marker. I thought it was just me and something I was doing wrong. Glad I am not the only one to impressed with it.
Thank you Jennifer your good at everything you do love all your work Thank you for always teaching and I love the way you explain everything May God continue to Bless you.
Love this video! Do you have a vlog that demonstrates how to do apply a recipe to a cutting board? I know you said you did one yourself. Keep the great tips coming.
Your videos are so helpful! Thank you for sharing your skills. I used torch paste on wood with a heat press, and they turned out great, but the paper was stuck on them! Do you put the shinny side of the bucher paper down? How do you get the stuck paper off? I got one wet like I saw in another video and got paper off, but it smeared the burnt brown all over the wood. I am assuming I just need to start over, but I want to know what I did wrong first. Any advice would be appreciated.
Many people have used torch paste. Torch paste is a commercially available wood burning paste that often contains ammonium chloride as a key ingredient, but usually mixed with other substances to create a usable paste consistency; essentially, you can make your own torch paste by mixing ammonium chloride with a thickener like cornstarch or "Thick-It" to create a gel-like paste. This tutorial shows how to mix ammonium chloride and thick it yourself. jennifermaker.com/how-to-burn-designs-into-wood/
You should throw away a bottle of ammonia or ammonia-based cleaner in your regular garbage. Instead, dilute it and pour it down the drain or dispose of it in the trash as a neutralized solid material.
Love your videos!! These designs are amazing. Thank you very much for taking your time making these videos. I am hoping some day I can afford to do all this. Thanks again!!
Love this video. My daughter is in the process of buying her 1st house on her own and I would love to make matching ones for us. Thanks for sll you do for us
What a wonderful video! I really enjoy learning a new craft. It doesn’t look that hard either. I think I’m going to make the Santa tray for my grandkids. I know they’ll really like it.
You can also look for commercially available "wood burning paste" or "torch paste" which serve a similar function. This is the only video that we have on wood burning.
Yes, you can use bamboo cutting boards for wood burning. Because bamboo is often mixed with glue, it's important to wear protective gear when working with it.
OMG thank you so much...I had also tried the scorch maker and their lil kit...didnt get the results I was looking for. I will def be trying the ammonium chloride/thick it method!
any tips on avoiding wood cracks? I burned on high heat and it cracked. I tried the low setting and its starting to crack. It had no cracks previously. I am using a slide of wood from a tree trunk. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Have you ever tried torch paste? I'm curious to see what kind of results you would get.

Awesome, fellow Michigander! Thank you!
Do you have a video explaining or showing how to seal it with beeswax? Also is there an alternative for the thick-it?
You can also look for commercially available "wood burning paste" or "torch paste" which serve a similar function. This is the only video that we have on wood burning.
