Board to Death- Gina Volpe (Lunachicks/Bantam) | EarthQuaker Devices

Check out this new episode of Board to Death with founding member & guitarist from Lunachicks, singer & guitarist in Bantam, and solo artist, Gina Volpe! We were stoked to meet with Gina and chat about her rig while she was working with Barb Morrison on her new record. Gina’s current board includes the Sea Machine and Astral Destiny, and some custom pedals that her husband built with Gina’s own artwork, including a delay she called “The Lolly Gagger”. It was great hanging out with Barb & Gina and we look forward to hearing her new record!
Gina started playing in the late 80s in high school when she and her friends formed Lunachicks.
They caught the attention of Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore, who helped the band land a record deal. In 2001, Gina formed the power trio Bantam, which was resurrected in 2022 with their first single in over a decade titled “YO-YO”. Gina’s keeping busy, working on a full-length solo album due out this year.

Oh awesome! I saw the Lunachicks documentary and was curious about her pedal board.
That's so cool that her husband makes pedals. It's really sweet how she customizes the pedals he makes with her art too. I love Gina's body of work. And I love being able to learn how my favourite artists get their sound 🖤
