I was luckily enough to see their show in randomly when I traveled to NZ few years ago, and that was even before their first album release. They really that good, I immediately have that kind of next big thing feeling.
One of the top bands around these days. Expert in a Dying Field, which I've featured on my public radio show, is also one of the top albums of '22 in my estimation, and was eagerly awaited after Jump Rope Gazers, another fine album.
terrific up-and-coming band! I hope i'm not doing them an injustice calling them up-and-coming... Just outstanding songs. Really fun stuff. They're coming to my city in a few weeks and they sold out two nights. I'm out of luck... can't get a ticket. As I said, they're on the rise and rightfully so.
" I hope i'm not doing them an injustice calling them up-and-coming" It prompts a fair question. How many excellent albums can a band release and still be considered up-and-coming?
A suggestion/ favor to ask the nice people at eqd. Any chance you could launch a reverb with a send return fx loop? It would be the verb to end all verbs as we could add any modulation we wanted just on the wet signal and not spend hundred of bucks each time one with an interesting modulation comes out. I said one but I have another.. I would love to see a ring modulator/ bit crusher[ preferably analogue but you know best]. Not much focus on tremolo/ stutter/ sample and hold functions....just a good ole ring mod which we can place before the eruptor and have fun. It can be the ring crusher, or the bit modulator or the nightmare machine...you know
ooohhh, I really like that Lo-Fi pedal. Too bad I play drums and nobody wants sound advice from the drummer. :) Love The Beths and can't wait for the show in a mere 5 weeks!
I wish you had their old set ups, Jon had the rare Japanese rat, Liz had the ocd…. Can anyone identify the riff at 7:48 I know I will find it if I listen to all the albums again… but I’m lazy!
Nah, this is so encouraging. Pedals off the board, one side of a double pedal broken. It’s much more real life than the bands with professional board setups and midi and all that
Used to know a fella with a small collection of guitars, including a rare and valuable limited edition JEM from like the 90s, but the best playing guitar he had was his tele style G&L Tribute with soapbars. It's actually crazy how nice that guitar was.
That's okay. I play a cheap 6 string Glarry bass my mom got for me, because she can't afford much more. I can make that girl sing though. She's named Theresa after her.
I’m always absolutely astonished to see her play that “silence is golden” riff while singing it.
The Beths are so good - they're insanely talented as songwriters, instrumentalists and producers. Everything so well thought out and considered.
You're so right! :)
Greatest band of the last 20 years at least.
The Beths represent everything that I dig about good music these days - just great songs and no bs. Love 'em!
🥰
The rest of these comments are right on the money, The Beths are amazing and Liz Stokes is one of the very best songwriters today. She is *that good*.
Couldn't agree more!
Would never have guessed Liz was from Indonesia! Such a legend.
They are so creative with their guitar parts. Love The Beths!
so true!
absolutely adore her approach to music and making cool sounds, especially with the recorded vs live ethos she has
Totally😎

That sounds amazing!
Such a wonderful band. Brilliant music and such down to earth lovely people.
Couldn't agree more😎
Been waiting for Liz's setup. I love her tones
so good 🤘
Great to see Liz and The Beths here :)
The best!
Instant like before I've even watched it. The Beths are the best! Please come back to SLC or somewhere within 500 miles soon.
So excited to see The Beths in March!
Nice!!

Both albums are fantastic!
this band sounds really cool and she rocks!! thanks for sharing I can't wait to dive in more
Our pleasure!
So good! That G&L is a sleeper worth checking out. Love this band.
So good!
terrible neck dive. great for sitting down but almost useless standing up
used to have one. great guitar!
@@kantina4765 She seems to manage just fine
mad respect for a touring band that uses corflute as a pedal board carried in a handmade tote bag.
utilitarian, creative, awesome!
It's a very Kiwi approach. We're mad about DIY lol
I love the Beths! Liz is fantastic
🫶
Thanks! I love the Beths ✌️❤🎶

They are great live-it would be worth waiting outside the venue to see if anybody has a spare
You should give the Beths a signature pedal
this!!!
Such a great band!
We ❤️ The Beths!
Hell yes Beths! Hell yes Rat 2! Hell Yes Ibanez Tone-lok!! Liz is such a fantastic songwriter.
so great!
So happy to see this! The Fallout makes for some nice fuzzy garage tones
Love her and love this band!!!!
💕
While I'm known about the Beths for a while, their latest album Expert In A Dying Field as made me a fan!
What about that Bogen and Sunn cab?! LEGIT I’ve got a bogen challenger head, one of my favoritesssss
I was at that show! Terrific stuff
Nice! Great show, although it was boiling in that room 😅
Same! Haha we were packed in tight, and the air conditioning picked a great day to break. I was lucky to be right up at the very front with Liz.
Ka rawe Liz! Great tone stacking

It’s from knees deep
Someone get this band some pedalboards.
haha. It would be too heavy for carry on luggage though
it would ruin the aesthetics
I don't know. That's a perfectly reasonable pedalboard, if you ask me.
Nah, this is so encouraging. Pedals off the board, one side of a double pedal broken. It’s much more real life than the bands with professional board setups and midi and all that
agreed! And their sound is immaculate
Great and differing tones! Sounds great (albeit over youtube on headphones)
thanks for watching!
Great tones!
Thanks for listening :)
Anyone know which The Beths song on the last live footage of this video?
Song is "Out of Sight" from their Album Jump Rope Gazers!
Great band!
7:47 what song is this??
knees deep
After over ten years in touring bands, I just bought a pedalboard
Well deserved!
Bored to Beth. When you are bored, so you put The Beths on.
tfw five distortion pedals on an eight pedal board. Priorities.
I bet Liz rips on some Come to Grief covers with that Rat 2
I want to be from Indonesia too
Based G&L enjoyer

respect to the hot cake, my first too
Future me hates me is a perfect album, change my mind 😡
Man I love the rat to much
i knew you must be half of indonesian!!....greeting from jakarta.
That's okay. I play a cheap 6 string Glarry bass my mom got for me, because she can't afford much more. I can make that girl sing though. She's named Theresa after her.
Ive seen them twice now! Can't wait to see them a third time. Also, they're really nice people 🫶🏻😇
Lucky!
