Regular dread is heavily influenced by terrain shape.
If you get one while in a janky cave that constantly makes it's central axis tilt all over the place it becomes a nightmare to inflict enough damage on it before the shield regenerates.
So in sandblasted that typically has wide open, reasonably flat areas it's easy. In a glacial strata cave with max complexity it can get REALLY bad.

Also Taylor, if you foam all of the spike and then vacuum it all at once as quick as possible you get way less Rockpox spawns for the rockpox eggs.

@@nameisnttaylor basically a spike goes into defense mode and from what I’ve seen is the spawns will get worse as the spike sits unfinished. Me and my team will always have the vacuums go one left and one right and just sweep out the spike in like three seconds if the spike is well placed.
@@nameisnttaylor Also to clarify, the rockpox doesn't consider spawning until *any* amount of the foam is vacuumed. So if someone accidentally vacuums a little, that now becomes a constant spawn site for them until you clear it
as powerful as this idea is, i will warn you that getting it all at once spawns a shit ton. its less total than if you did it in increments, and is a good strategy overall, but be prepared to run like hell as soon as the spike is done

You mentioned wanting to hear Prospector stories in the last video so heres mine.
There was a time i was doing a 2 person drilldozee mission with my friend and it started like normal, but it quickly went wrong in the first room the drilldizer reached, as while we were fighting the swarm a Prospector flew by, pushing only me off the dozer straight inti the horde, giving me a swift death that left my friend alone in a big swarm, meaning he died and we failed.
So in that instance, a Prospector ended my run the fastest out of any boss.

To be fair this seems to have been from the start of Season 4, and in the previous they weren't all that prevalent? You just kind of could get by gunning them down 'cause it was only grunts and praetorians every now and then, rather than in retaliation for starting a spike.

I recognise Taylor as an Engie main foremost, then Scout, and sometimes Driller. The one time I have seen him Gunner, he held his zipline launcher out, and jumped off a cliff.

A few days ago i had a korlok spawn while a was helping a greenbeard friend of mine, then meteor fragments started falling and one fell on the korlok and killed it and i was extremely relieved

What we learn from this episode:
- three contagion spikes are way too annoying.
- drillers, as usual are a menace to the whole mission.
- dwarfs sing extremely well.
- Gunner is not Taylors favourite and I couldn't agree more with that decision.
- glowing crystals: red sugar.
- this team plays hazard 5 like it's nothing.

A tip to make macteras basically grunt level enemies is for Driller to freeze them all, any frozen enemy will instantly fall and die.
I suggest using the snowball overclock if you have it so you can aoe 1 shot all mactera's with ease, the goo bombers and breeders take 2 shots tho.

I'm amazed that there's people who don't think the twins are the worst dreadnought. They're both the most lethal and the hardest to kill variant imo.
I personally think the Dreadnought is the easiest, it's just circle and fire at it. The twins CAN be easier, if the team balances who they target but can also be a pain if they keep healing from unbalanced damage. The Hiveguard always sucks for me, the weakpoints are frustrating to hit and it has so so many phases if you can't focus it when it's open.

I'm noticing a common trend here you leave the enemies that continuously spawn more ads alive for an absurdly long time. the breeder somehow managed to outlive bet-c somehow, brood nexuses were just there, and that tyrant weed fight from before uhh... lets just say there have been cleaner fights before.

u can deposit super fast if you spam E and spam Right click/pickaxe swing in a sort of alternating motion.

you can curve the lok1's bullets in the direction of the rockpox weak points. works well if you take any mod/OC that requires multiple locks.

I don't get the Dreadnought hate either. I swear he's mostly a joke minus the slam. Though I play Scout so it's not really an issue for me.

The classic dreadnought is the most well-tuned. The others are.. well, the twins aren't _that_ bad, but alone they don't class as dreadnoughts to begin with, only as pre-drednoughts. Proper twin dreadnoughts would be very different to fight. The hiveguard is not particularly difficult but it's just an absolute ammo drain compared to the others, which are only ammo drains if you play them badly or get unlucky.
HUGE ammo drain indeed, thanks to the very many phases you have to go through. you could argue there's a minimum of 9 phases you have to go through when fighting the hiveguard, thanks to the sentinels, then the weakpoint phase, then the actual damage phase

I know lots of people might be bored of the contagion spikes, but since i only started at the very end of season 3, i still find them fun. Not a fan of the corruptors tho
