- My client is looking to keep the gray but start blending it in without using bleach. This will take some time, but I think we are off to a good start here toning down the brass and really boosting up the natural silver tones in her hair.
PART ONE: Embracing your gray is sometimes difficult, but not when you add Silver Color Melt Highlights to soften up your color. I add in silver tones to soften out the previous brassy highlights. This color is dreamy.
PART TWO: • Embracing your gray: P...

I took the journey from dark brown to silver ten months ago. I absolutely love my new look. I think my stylist may have watched your videos. I was her first client to go gray. Ladies embrace your gray!! It’s s so worth it. No more skunk stripes !
Awesome! 👏 Thanks for sharing!!
Beautiful!
I have fine, thin hair with about a 60% gray. At the beginning of corona I stopped coloring my hair (hair loss and tired..) Six months later I had high and lowlights put in my hair to accept my gray haircut. 2 years later .. Am now salt / pepper of hair color and no longer suffer from hair loss. To freshen up my gray pepper/salt) haircut, I discovered Wella Treu gray toners + Activator + conditioner. I mix these 3 together. 1:1:1. This is not permanent but a demi hair coloring and important, not harmful .. You wash it out again. Faded after weeks, (at least if you wash your hair a maximum of 2 times a week). You have these in a few different shades of gray. Very happy with this.
Fabulous!!! looks amazing great job there Chuck... so ready to embrace my wisdom lights.. I earned them I will wear them.....
Fabulous job! So natural, and beautiful color.🔥
I love how you clip the hair away for drying and curling. Beautiful turnout.
Incredible work looks so good!!
That color looked so natural. Great job.
Thank you! It really made such a difference in cooling down this brassy color!
Wow you did a amazing job ❤
This is gorgeous
Beautiful 👍 Lovely color matched her style. Wow!
Thank you ♥️
Very nicely done. Smooth
The gray hair is still very clear if you just colored the hair with 7+ 8.12 after you done with foils it would look so good
She didn't want to continue to color her hair. The gray was left intentionally because she only wanted it blended up so she could grow the gray out.
This was very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you, this is so helpful.
Phenomenal work
OMG! I wish you did textured, curly, coily, hair. I live in East Texas, I would totally make the drive to Austin. You are fantastic!
What a compliment! Thank you so much!
I wish we were able to fly down to Texas. We were down there 2 years ( in the Spring Branch area) ago but drove. My mom can no longer drive because of her vision. I am looking for a new shorter length of hair and finish turning my hair to a fabulous gray color. I have chronic pain and need a easy style
Looks amazing
Glad you like it! Thank you.
Gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
THats beautiful. Years of color knowledge!
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful
Did she have permanent color on her mid-ends? Would you do low lights with permanent color if you have someone that doesn’t want to keep up with the maintenance? I have a client and she wants this, but she wants something more permanent. Her mids-ends are medium to light blonde.
Great job!
Thank you!
Insane talent. Much love fr a stylist to another
Thank you!
Hey I have a similar transition nxt week. What was in your foils. Im using wella
Love, love LOVE the color!! Tell your client to quit talking AND to put the phone down, she's like a teenager...
Hahaha. But that's why I love you! You're so much fun! I'm so glad you love the color!!
Why would she? She is the customer after all? As long as she keeps her head steady, why should this even bother you?
@@Beusheu So true. But I am the client, making a joke about myself. No ill intent, promise.
@@6kinkades lol 😂 didn't catch that earlier, sorry!
Good work
What colors are u using?
I have about 2" of grey coming through with the remaining hair dark brown. Do you have to go blonde to get the rest of hair grey? I really don't like blonde on me.
You'll likely have to deal with some blonde to get there, unfortunately.
I’m doing this now but with low lights✨
Hello..I have a friend who's hair is very similar as far as grow out to the video above..she had a bayalage quite a while ago and the salon lady didn't do a very good job..what she wants is silver on top and melt into Metallic black..can you help me with this?? Pkeeease..lol
Can you do this technic plus add baby lights? My hair is almost like this but my colorist adds baby lights only not the lowlights…
It can be really pretty on salt and pepper hair for sure!
HI Looks Great!
How does it grow out? Does it need color maintenance, touch ups through the grow out process?
Hi! Thank you! It grows out well and only requires maintenance about 4 times a year. She isn’t trying to go natural though. She just likes to have the color blended up into her natural so that it is very low maintenance between appointments. She uses So Silver or Brass Off from Matrix at home to maintain the cool tone between visits.
It grows out great. So glad I did this prior to quarantine. No solid root line. Chuck is awesome, he does the best color!
I was light Castanie colour from the start..I've changed into blonde highlights 25 years ago..I am going grey now. So, my hair is perfect apart from my roots, there is no brand to cover my grey for me, if I want to stay blonde...so depressing
Love the color! Do you put the Smokey silver straight on or mix with developer?
Thank you! It gets mixed with 10 volume developer.
You used toner, not color? And did you treat her natural grey, or just the old growth?
is this possible to do with dark hair? i colour my hair dark brown more than 10 years
Same! I was blonde until I had my first daughter 30 yrs ago 🙄 I need some light I'm my life! Lol I'm just worried about the maintenance of it 🙄 I'm dark brown now with lots! Of gray need a change!! 🙄😊
It can be possible. It will take some time. I like to recommend starting with your part line and really lightening that area up with a lot of highlights and right around your face. Adding some highlights throughout the rest to blend it. Repeating this process over time until you reach your desired look. This client initially had dark brown color hair before we started the lightning process, but we are many sessions in at this point.
👏👏👏👏
Beautiful work . Is he using any bleach and what developer ❤️
Thank you so much! 0:44 is the color formulas. There was no bleach used in the process. Lowlights only.
Nice 👍🏻 good. Was that guy tang permanent colour you used first
Thank you. It was Demi Permanent.
This is how I thought this should go! Great job 👏, my hair would fall out if I did what some colorists are doing.
Help! I need you. 9 months of growth. Where are you located?
I’m in Austin, Tx.
Au top
Would have liked to have seen her front face view!
Sorry about that. The recording got cut short by accident so I didn’t have footage of the front. I have more cameras now for more angles do I don’t miss it!
Are you from Nashville
I’m in Austin, Tx.
Toners wash out. I know my hair went from silver to yellow
Toners definitely wash out over time as you shampoo, blow dry and are in the sun. All of those affect the vibrancy and longevity of the tone in your hair. You’ll likely need to be toned more often than usual to maintain silver hair color.
Can u give me ur whtsyp m a beautician ,,,in hair work I need guide plzzzzz
Don’t like it gray hair still there
That’s what the client requested and she likes it. That’s all that matters.
Would've enjoyed the video a LOT more without the music choice. No offense, but it made it unwatchable for me.
Gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
