Starting to think Belle having her tail looped around her like a belt might prevent any kick-related incidents. It's how Toriyama dealt with drawing the Saiyan tails...until getting rid of them entirely.
I feel like the tower may be a way to test Sonic and the others maybe, seeing as they only managed to get out of the maze by speeding along with Sonic and by using Amy's hammer. I can't think of a reason why yet though. Maybe Eggman wants to see what they'll do when pushed to their limits.
I'd be funny if Eggman just made it on a whim and never expected to use it like a trap. Kinda like when Doofenshirtz unknowingly trapped Perry with his double dutch machine.
The bike that Tangle and Belle ride on looks like it’s from Zero Gravity
I find myself wondering if that tunnel-space is a leftover construct from the phantom ruby, or some new and mysterious stone. Also, yes, Marionette reminds me of an action figure, too. XD
When the Big Reveal of Belle's creator comes to light I can see this going in a interesting way.
Sonic and his Group: Naturally Sonic would be all for letting Belle stay alive since yes she was built by Mr Tinker but Not Eggman and thus she's not a threat.
Team Chaotix: Espio would want to Destory belle not because he doesn't trust her but because if Eggman were to find out he'd figure out a way to control her so he thinks that by destroying her it'd be a Mercy Kill.
Team Dark: Shadow would be a Little similar to Espio wanting to Destroy Belle so Eggman won't control her but that doesnt mean he'd let anyone know
Eggman: Would probably let her live since she is a testament that even without his memories he is still a genius. And because she does exactly what she's supposed to do.
Sonic: Would use the fact that Mr. Tinker is Belle's dad to further advocate his sparing Eggman back in Issue 6.
Shadow: Would still want Eggman dead.
VideoGollumer: Would want to slap Sonic across the face 10 times in 5 seconds for using that to justify him screwing over himself, his friends, and his world by considering Eggman's well being to be more important! TWICE!!!

It's great to see some improvements over the continuity. The Restoration HQ looks more of an underground city than a base, and the organization seems perfect to say the least.
Tangle is going to be in a lot of trouble, not only for disobeying Jewel's orders, but also from "borrowing" the Big Bang EX-Gear. I dare to say, Tangle riding an EX-Gear might be an idea of her admiration for Tails' Tornado - Cyclone Mode.
Eggman's facility is really weird looking. On the outside, it looks like a simple tower if you take the strange thing of the top (the sphere seems to gather energy from the environment, or it has a core powered by a new stone -what's next, the Space Garnet, or something?), but the inside is a mess. A maze built to give the characters and the reader a big headache. Sonic, Tails and Amy were a bit reckless, but I guess that's Eggman for us: no matter how simple a thing might be, his IQ mind leads to his enemies to fall right into his hands to a dangereous trap.
By the way, is Adam Bryce Thomas's character really named Lanolin, or she never had a true name? It's cute to know your character can one day appear on the continuity, kinda like those fan characters that appeared in issue 18.

The chief engineer guy sort of was good to me with how he was portrayed, but then when he went all "I don't want your bad vibes in my shop", yeah, I think that guy needs a bit more tweaking on his character.

I made a little song to the intro to this video. Does anyone want to hear? Don’t care, I’m writing it down. 🎶It’s the IDW series. There’s been a hiatus but now it’s done. Test run part 1.🎶
this entire premise vaguely reminds of an episode from ben 10 ultimate aliens i think it was, where the crew go into this, space rubik's cube thing if i remember correctly, basically it also has a series of challenge rooms that never seem to progress them anywhere until they come across some enemies and realize the more guards that appear, the closer they are to reaching what they're looking for, so yea, definitely interested in seeing how this plays out.
i do like some of the visual gags here like the ten minutes later panels, and earlier in the comic with the panel of amy and jewel doing paperwork after jewel said she thought they'd never get through it, as well as the trippy art near the end of the comic, although, amy's face looks really weird when she first appears.
on the subject of the story, i wonder how long it even took them to build this new base? i kinda doubt it was already built during the metal virus arc.
i always felt (well, not always, but for awhile now) that sonic, amy, and tails make a tad bit more sense as a team than sonic, tails and knuckles (if you ignore the fact amy isn't a power type character), so i am interested in seeing how this plays out, i'm also interested in seeing how they shoehorn shadow into this and promptly ruin any semblance of good will i could've had for this story arc.
I know what you mean. Knuckles is oath bound to guard a big green rock, so he really can't spend too much time away from it. Meanwhile, Tails and Amy follow Sonic around pretty regularly, since Sonic is their favorite person. Also, Sonic seems to be closer to Amy than he is to Knuckles; since, again, Knuckles prefers to spend time alone and guard the Master Emerald. I do like the dynamic between the three of them. Sonic and Tails' brotherly relationship is always a highlight, Tails and Amy can identify a lot with each other because of their similar kindhearted outlooks and their shared adoration of and concern for Sonic, and Amy can put aside her romantic feelings for Sonic and interact with him as a friend and teammate when needed. Furthermore, as of Ian's run on Preboot Archie, we have a name for the three as a team: Team Fighters. Also, it doesn't really matter if Amy's not considered a Power Type; she has a big hammer that more than makes up for it.

So, I have a theory based off a panel in this issue. When sheep girl leaves after dropping off Belle the next panel focuses on her with a bit of a ominous shadow. I feel like she could have move significance in the future issues, I've thoguht of the idea of a possible insider for an opposing force the restoration becuase of how much she has had to go through with them. It may not be that but I definitely think there is going to be something to do with her in the future mainly becuase of that panel that focuses on her.
hey maybe will get more back story with her, cause before and after giving her to big fuzzy ape man, she looked pretty cold or just very straight faced.

@@TheRasp10 I have thoguht that she may be kinda of like Nephthys from the Archie sonic post reboot comics. Where she knows that the sonic and Eggman rivalry has the potential to nearly end the world which in Archie was the whole world splitting apart, in IDW it could be the Metal Virus. So sheep girl could try to keep both sides at a stalemate to prevent further damage to the world.

Sonic, Tails, and Amy seem to be in a in-between zone, a space between worlds, realms, and dimensions. Eggman himself has been stuck in those before usually after Sonic beats him when he mess with forces beyond his control, like with the Time Eater and got stuck in a void with no time. Although aside from it being a trap for Sonic, Eggman could also be trying to create a transporter/portal to replace the Warp topaz. He has better luck winning with tech rather then powerful relics and gems.
Just like he had a better chance winning with the Metal Virus by being more concerned about its ability to cause mayhem than its reliability in bringing its victims under his control, right? lol

Well there isn't much meat to this issue so far is mostly just setup and as I as of right now have no Idea were this story will go especially with the trippy other world angle and Belle don't I want to speculate about it for to long.
But this doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of things to talk about in this issue. So lets start with the Wooden Puppet in the room because there is a lot of thing wrong with Belle as of right now.
First of all is the fact that there was no fallow up to Belle's obvious (even if illogical) Eggman connection with her ability to read plans. And before anyone wants to bring up that only Tails knew this NO this would make no sense what so ever.
And this is because Sonic also knows that there never found the decoder and would obviously would have to tell this to everyone as the bad news concerning Omega only for Belle to mention that she can read them and you can expect me to believe that no one but Tails would draw the obvious conclusion and ask further questions? Like not even Rouge, Shadow and Omega (also when apparently all Eggman Robots can read Eggman's plans what use was the decoder when there have 2 E-100 Robots lying around (Omega and Gemerl(being just a more advanced 121-Phi)))
BUT That is but the peak of the Iceberg her as her entire reason for having Problems at the Restauration is dumb and make no sense.
First of all you really want to tell me that the organization dedicated to clean up after the wars in Forces (and now properly also the Zombot Apocalypse) wouldn't have a use for a wood worker or carpenter?
Like seriously Many houses still use a lot of Wood in there construction(like almost all of Windmill villages houses) that needs to be properly cut, all the people that lost everything in these wars would need new furniture which is usually made out of wood and little children could really need some toys after the world ending disasters that had to go through and many of the best toys for little children are still made out of you guessed it Wood.
So really what the hell is the Restauration even doing when there have no need for a Wood worker???
(also the boat that Belle almost made collapse looked suspiciously like it was made out of WOOD)
But it goes on the the reasons she ended up fired are some of the most contrived and dumbest I have ever seen in such a setup.
I mean the first and last one could have happened to any Anthro with a Tail as well (just imagine Tails would have been in Belle's place here the incompetence of OTHER would have burned and Crush his Tails and the would be even worse for a Anthro without super powers but a Tail) and the second one was again her instructors fault for not properly showing her around the workshop and telling her what is what.
Are all non main Characters that work for the Restauration legally brain dead? Is this the reason why Eggman just won in Forces and Amy could damm in the Zombie Virus because Knuckles and her were surrounded by Idiots the whole time???
So that would be my Belle rant as I don't have anything against her actions so far as we know to little of her to call them out of Character or anything and Tangle being this IN YOUR FACE is perfectly in character for her same as her doing boring stuff for Jewels sack (even if I am not sure how Jewel can thing its a good Idea to keep the walking chaos generator that is Tangle in the base for any longer than necessary) but I am wondering were it will go (and hope its not just a repeat of Tangle and Wisper's mini series)
Now for the second big problem I have with this issue which was already hinted at in the Belle part before.
The Restauration.
Yes as already said its weird enough how dumb some of there members seam to be and even more so its at this point rather nebulous what there are even doing (well beside being the secret underground base and Team to fill the Role of the Knothole Freedom fights because the writers continue to refuse to let go of the Archies comics premise structure (see also Eggman's spontaneously generating bases and resources as another prime example of it)) but there is now one more thing that NEEDS to be addressed.
When and how did there build all of this new base stuff?
I couldn't have been a project already way on its way in the Metal Virus arc as otherwise there would have had plenty of already excavated empty space for all the evacuated civilian.
And how much time could have past since then?
We know that from the end of the Virus arc to Sonic's return couldn't there be more than a few days as Amy has just gone to the ruins of Restauration HQ and Blaze wasted little to no time in fixing Sonic and sending him back home (which given the ending of Rush adventure still made no sense in how she accomplished it but that's beside the point).
Than do we know that not more a a very few days could have happened between Sonic's return and the Chaos Races and Badnik bases arc as not only there lead directly into each other over the retreval of Omega's brocken body parts and as Bad Guys took little time and it didn't appear as if Starline made much progress since the end of that story arc.
And Belle's belonging should have become an issue imminently after Omega was finished so that is no space between the previous and this arc (despite Sonic and Tails already acting as if the new Resistance base is something totally casual meaning there must have been here BEFORE there got Belle with them) and we also know that fixing Omega couldn't have taken to much time ether as Eggman did it just days after the end of the Metal Virus arc on top of building an even larger Robot around Omega's body while complaining about resource shortages.
So really the Restauration had at most 2 weeks to excavate it all out, building all of teh buildings with all there electronics and the lift, getting a staty air subly down there, getting everything lighting up, bringing over all of the paperwork, getting all the Computers hugged up and ready for operation and having transfert all of there older files to them AND had time to get huge equipment like Boat's and extrem gears down there.
I guess we can add that to the ever growing pile of illogically fast build times this entire comic series is plage by.
But seriously between the Eggman Empire, the normal cities including high society stuff and now the Restauration base do I have to wander if any of the Writers or editors on the book put even so much as half a thought into the series timeline and if yes why there didn't notice how there writing keeps ending in such utter nonsense.
I mean Eggman has at least Robots that work day and night without rest so he has at least something resembling an excuse but the Restauration is just a few volunteer workers(that properly don't even get payed and so have even less time av..OH sorry I forgot money isn't real and Team Chaotix and the Babilon Rogues are just insane) and the regular citizen certainly has no access to construction robots.

So to end on less of a downer here are a few positives.
I like that Evan tries to rectify the non-sense Ian did with Amy and doesn't just pretend that never happened.
I also love that for ones one of this comics actually acknowledges that Sonic can break Really when he goes to max speed.
I also like that Belle is actually a bit more deceptive and manipulative as it for a time seam like she is just going to be the shy and other wise innocent kind of character so giving her a little edge is a nice touche.
So lets hope that things will go up hill from here.
i don't know maybe tails was going to tell everyone but belle knocked him out "accidentally" before he could do so and he just forgot.
well, omega and gemerl would have this cipher feature, but omega's cipher program was overwritten with "DESTROY ALL EGGMAN ROBOTS" and thus doesn't work anymore, and the same applies to gemerl except his was overwritten with "PROTECT CREAM AND VANILLA" program, i assure, this is totally how it works.
okay, so, remember when i said sonic was racist against wood? welp, in this issue, wood racism is canon now if the people who bad-mouth belle are anything to go by, not only is it canon, but it extends to ALL WOOD! that's why there's no carpenters in the restoration, and the wood used for the windmill villages and the boat are fake wood, not real.

well you see, between the metal virus arc and the previous one, tails spent sometime to create lots and lots of fake emeralds and the construction workers used them to invoke chaos control and strength increase to get an hour of work done in just a minute and still have time for rest, what? a nigh brainless creature like biolizard could invoke chaos control, what's the problem here? you're just nitpicking and refusing to accept canon explanations.

I mean if you properly fallow my Logic should it be obvious that at bare minimum Rouge, Sonic and Omega should also know it just but thinking about it for 2 seconds as Omega clearly saw Belle read the blue prints while he was fixed up (by the way Belle has lots of luck that Omega isn't just annihilating her already), Sonic did know that there never retrieved the cipher and Rouge is rather observant about detail like all of this.
Oh come one Tails him self fixed up Gemerl you really want to tell me that Tails would just have deleted or at least didn't make a back up (but knowing you you will just say Tails stored his cipher on the hard drive he brock back in the Metal Virus arc despite the fact that Evan properly didn't even remember that tit bit as otherwise she would have mentioned it at the start of the story to justify Tails knowing about it but never gotten it despite hacking into the Eggnet all the time)
(but seriously given that Gemerl in Advance 3 did integrate him self into boss mechs should he really have one)

And that is that to make Copy Chaos Emeralds one would need a Real Chaos Emerald and as at least since the conclusion of Forces Starline had all the Emeralds was there no way for Tails to make a let alone a lot of Copy Chaos Emeralds.
Also most residence/Restauration members properly wouldn't be able to perform Chaos control as most not super duper strong willed Characters need a Chaos control inducing organ to perform it (which is why the nigh mindless Biolizart was able to perform it)
I mean if the entire Restauration was equipped with Fake Chaos Emeralds and able to perform Chaos control can I ensure you that evacuation missions during the big Zombot crisis would have went a lot smoother. (Never mind that with so many fake emeralds around Sonic even if just for a second could have turned Super and get rid of the Virus on him completely)
I mean of cause you don't you are in the "Sonic should't even be light speed" camp.
And as of right now do we not really know what this place is and I so far have done for the assumption its a Special stage world as Evan already made them a real place in her fan fiction.
Can't wait for the Big reveal that the new Female Villain Evan wants to make turns out to be Belle after turning EVIL and turning into the most fear inducing toy since the Tails Doll while breaking the hearts of many people that like current "nice girl" Belle.
I am honestly not sure if I am more serious or more joking on this prediction.
Oh come one let someone else ruin the story for ones like well I don't know maybe Tangle as so far non of her actions lead to anything bad (even her one time mistake in the Tangle and Whisper Mini series resulted in Whisper not becoming a murderer and getting her to open up more and so become friends with Tangle)
As for the conclusion of your previous comment chain.
Emerl did with just 1 Chaos Emerald destroy half of the Arc and was barley stopped while the Arc's crew through its everything against him (please keep in mind that the Arc doubled as a secret Weapons researching lab so its not like there weren't heavily equiped with weapons). Again with just 1 Emerald.

don't forget the existence of echidnas in sonic's backstory, which sonic 3 implied via the hidden palace mural (not saying echidnas were involved in game sonic's backstory, i'm just referring to the mural), that's something the average joe wouldn't really think about, so i have some semblance of hope that the movie devs will also reference the obscure stuff about amy.
personally, like with amy being open, i don't care too much about the tarrot card reading and magic, as they only exist for garbage jokes, BUT! i do see genuine potential in this stuff and i feel a competent writer can make something really cool out of them, which is why i kinda wanna see them."

I say this because especially in the Amy one it gets obvious with Sonic stating its normal for the Chaos emeralds to turn grey and be unusable for a while ever there were used and Amy being shocked and amaze at Sonic performing action moves (she her self already did in Heroes) while holding her as something she has never experienced in hoe epic it is.(SERIOUSLY JAPANESE WRITER STOP WRITTING AMY AS SOME RANDOM GIRL THAT CAN'T COMPREHENT THE EXITMENT OF SONIC'S REGULAR ACTION STUNS! BECUASE THERE ALREADY PULLED THE SAME BS WITH HER BACK IN THE 25 ANNIVERSARY COMICS)
I guess its likely that there will reference it unless there fear having Amy read Tarot cards will cause problems with American Soccer moms.
I see generally a lot of potential in most of Amy's character traits its just that no writer ever seams interested in doing anything with them beside writing stupid jokes.
