To be fair, at least Metal didn't just blitz through Belle to get to Sonic. In hindsight, him knocking her aside was a lot gentler then what he could have done, considering Belle is pretty much a badnik Pinocchio.
Surge is ready to cause chaos against Sonic, his friends and allies & Eggman.
Wow surge really is a lot like juri from street fighter. She even says “this is gonna be fun” which is one of the phrases juri says in game.
Now I can’t take away the image of Surge pulling off a « school girl crush » on Whisper XD

Btw I believe we did see the dinomo gadget before in sonic colors remake particularly the animation trailer for the remake where metal uses a similar device to use whisps... so you can guess

Considering she was already a sadistic, bloodthirsty psychopath whose only love is wrecking things even before finding out the truth, i doubt it.
I also hope they make figures about sonic idw, but i would prefer to do tangle ,whisper and dr starline
Funny I picture a tiny little tutorial robot that she picks up and throws into the chasm and then it says you're mean look I did a lot of things in adventure 2
I really liked this issue a lot. Everyone worked together. And it felt like so much happened.
After Surge is defeated I don't think this book will be worth reading anymore.
Don't know how to feel about Sonic saying "daddy dearest" (my mind is getting reminded of FNF of all things). It definitely feels like someone Sonic would say in one of the boost games. Based on what I seen from Frontiers, it seems to be going in the right direction (to be fair anything Ian Flynn writes just feels normal to me). Other than that, good issue and great review

On the topic of Starline actually being dead. I'm definitely not saying that I would want him to be alive to have some type of redemption. Cuz obviously that would never happen also he doesn't deserve it. However, when a Certain particular Villain is just so suddenly just tooken out just feels so Unsatisfying that they don't get to live through their suffering. Not to be Statistic. But to mainly just live with the fact that they lost & that there's nothing that they can do about that to actually have that sink inside their head is something that I consider to be truly satisfying for when certain villains have that permanently happen to them. 😅 However, there are very few exceptions to that. Cuz the only one that practically wouldn't work on is someone like Eggman who's continuously going through loss after loss refusing ever to accept defeat
In the meantime while you're waiting you could also order a custom version from Wake Angel 2001 I'm sure he will not turn it down
hi. from what i saw in the covers of future comics Whisper will have hard time (i STRONGLY hope it won't be Afterlife)
On the flipside Mimic, who has been pursuing Whisper, might JUST end up in Surge's way.
Calling it now, Kit will be long gone by the time the heroes check up on him. He *needs* to be with Surge.
The Dynamo Cage reminds me of when Metal Sonic was modified to forcefully absorb the power of Wisps in the "Rise of the Wisps" cartoon. And I'm betting that the device will cause schizophrenia.

This is mess up for sonic friends
I think a better name for this issue would have been "Plot Convenience the story"
Like here a short list of things:
- Metal is stuck in a time loop to allow the Heroes to team up with Kit (no seriously Metal is supposed to be super-fast and Sonic and Belle both aren't so fast right now)
- Kid just randomly waking up right now when they really need his power to save there asses
- Sonic after all the things he survived this far without taking a scratch getting his ankle brocken by this crash when falling from the literal clouds didn't do anything at at least 3 different times.
- There just happen to runway to a place with tons of water that Belle is also just able to easily identify as such.
- Surge just so happen to randomly run into Starline's glove to let her know he is dead. Which also just so happen to be far enough away from Starline now despite falling down just 5 meters away from him to which we can't actually see Starline himself.
- Surge just so happen to immerge to Cubot who can tell her what the stuff is.
- She just so happens to run into a machine that can massively power her up.
A few contrivances are one thing but man that are a lot and the more there are the deeper all of them cut into the story.
Like I know usually does a story need at least 1 or 2 of them to start up but these are to many especially as they only serve to artificially speed up the story. Cut this into 2 different issues to have the time for Surge to actually use her brain to find a tool to power herself up and so show how they managed to subdue Metal Sonic and it would already be a lot better.
It feels like the writers just wants to get to the next major story beat and abuses contrivances and conveniences to get to this point earlier which happens at the expense of both the story and the characters.
But there is still a few more:
- The skipped Metal Sonic fight is one hell of a copout given how strong Metal is and how Surge and Kit on their own were crushed by Metal in Imposter Syndrom 4 and could only win by combining their powers.
- Given how obsessed Kit is with Surge and how explosiv he was about Surge getting to kill Sonic in issue 50 do I feel like he is way too quickly helping the heroes and not showing nearly enough concern for Surge (given that she obviously failed in Killing Sonic so far) (this is what I mend when I said rushing all of these story beats also hurt the characters)
- All the other badniks that aren't Metal Sonic from the end if Issue 51 that surrounded our heroes just have randomly disappeared.
- that "thooom" wasn't him getting closer, that was him going "FFFUUUUUUUUCC" because the barrels sonic threw on him also drenched him in whatever that grey liquid was.
- kit being around water has the same effect of him being given smelling salts.
- still dehydrated.
- ..........i've got nothing, although, for belle, the tanks did seem to have valves wheels on them, so that's probably why she could recognize it.
- starline's force ghost brought it to her.
- got nothing.
- well i don't see you complaining about tails getting an upgrade from a flashback to 3000 years ago, freakin' sa1 fan/s.
i'm inclined to agree.
- so, bottom line-
- there needed to be another issue.
- they all had chaos control.

- well you see, all badniks were created by robotnik, who's related to maria, so all badniks technically have maria in their hearts, meaning they can chaos control, trust me, that's what it is/s.
PS: unfortunately (or fortunately, idk), i have more of an attachment to the god of war franchise, so ragnarok is gonna be my priority, but i will get frontiers as well, since i've heard a lot good things about it.

Frontiers is a fun game, but I just know that many of the thinks Ian did to the lore will make you explode, and I don't want to rob that experience from you.

Does anyone else besides me see the Dynamo Cage has a similar concept to the Wisp Capsule that Metal Sonic used in Rise of the Wisp?
I'm not sure if Starline's glove still has it's abilities, If so Surge was really dumb to burn it instead of using it.

@@reviewer945 Do you want to know why, or at least what I think is the reason that, Sonic and Surge seemed to under react to Starline being dead? He was pathetic. It's a "He died as he lived." thing; that thing being him being pathetic. Surge doesn't want anything to do with pathetic Starline.
I would appreciate if you refrained from showing covers and solicitations several issues ahead, as even the covers tend to give spoilers from the issue before. Many readers like me want to be surprised.

I seriously hope Belle regrets repairing Metal Sonic. I also hope Sonic doesn't try to convince her that it wasn't her fault; and I seriously hope he fails to convince her. Repairing Metal Sonic has done nothing but bring about disaster; it's high past time they both realize no good comes of showing compassion to a sentient nuclear warhead like Metal Sonic!
I really don't think ether will ever see the errors of their ways as they aren't allowed to Kill Metal off and so need plenty of characters that are willing to fix Metal Sonic in case, he is brocken again and Eggman is MIA.
I mean it never made sense to begin with that Sonic would even tell Tails to fix Metal without removing the super obedience so I wouldn't expect logical reasoning in anything involving Metal Sonic's fixing.
I’m worried about Bell. Really hope she doesn’t give up fixing things after her experience with Metal Sonic.
