"The world misses his music, but i miss my brother."
- Jimmie Vaughan
I'm so sorry! And I Love You !!! Penni in Oregon....after some lonely years in Texas...no place like HOME!
Can Pakdemir My God what a quote ❤️
I never had the privilege of seeing him in concert. I listen to him all the time on my phone me earphones stay in always on UA-cam listening to SRV
Buddy Guy brought him onstage at Legends. Goes by the name of Quinn Sullivan.
I miss his too!!
To all of you bashing Clapton. He has said that he feels it is his life's work to keep the blues alive in honor of those who came before. Which means men of color. They started it and people like Elvis heard them and they were hooked. Clapton does not have a prejudice bone in his body he wrote songs with Robert Cray and has worked with BB, Buddy and many more including Tracy Chapman. He has walked through the fires of hell and sold most all of his precious guitars to help fund the rehab he opened to save people who are fighting a fight he himself fought and won, He is a man of character and humbled in the presence of greatness. I have never seen him act like he was superior to anyone.
Gradgiated HS in '72. Brotherhood of all mankind.
Clapton WAS GOD. Jimmy was immortal. The Delta was being Sainted. Followed by other Spirits that have been more than of this world. Some not here long. None long enough...
Respect, Love, Gratitude to every single one of them. They each introduced us to an energy force we would never have known. To have lived and worshipped during their reign helped to define us and our universe. (Just sorry to hear about poor Pluto, who I guess never really was so...well, he's still kissin' the sky. --- I can see he had his fun.) Always remember and never forget... Can I get a witness...Trade all my tomorrows... God damn the Pusher Man. Dazed and Confused since 18, and I don't know what I want....What a A long strange trip its been...
((The foregoing was edited, for your entertainment. Just in case you didn't notice.)) Try try try to understand. Now go listen to some early Kenny Rogers and see what edition your condition could be in.
If u'r still readin' give me a thumbs up, or down. Got to go round.
Willy D. "Tire Tracks" Stringer aka Heavy D, Vitamin Q, Major Minor Never thought I would see 30. Now What? At that time God was dead... Moonies and mushrooms and hash oil and tar and B4 alcohol was bad. Respect, 💎Dean
Lots of folks here especially my age who grew up with the "British Invasion" music don't realize THAT music was inspired by black musicians in the US. The Beatles, DC5, the Stones... it was all R&B and covered by those Brit bands. So hats off to ALL musicians who honor the roots.
collective also said that if Jimi Hendrix would have not died that he didn't think he would be as popular as he is now but don't get me wrong Clapton one bad mofo
I meant Clapton not collective
If you play music you owe it to music to play whatever you play to the best of your ability. As for being a technical musician Eric Clapton has no superiors and almost as few equals. No musician has ever been more lyrical than Stevie Ray Vaugn. His instrument speaks to people.
Playing a guitar is not what Stevie Ray does....its what he is. He only had problems when he would have a lapse of memory and forget the music. If you play music you may not be Stevie or Eric but you still owe it to music to play it your best. Talk about a peacemaker....music is a universal language. I can play with a trumpet player from Brasil. I can play with a man in Uganda playing on a thirty year old horn...and a Count in Europe on the finest instrument money can buy none of us may converse with each other....until we open the music then we can say things that we have always wanted to say.
Jimmy Vaughan jamming before his brother not knowing this was their last time playing together just breaks my heart.

You know you are truly great when Eric Clapton is playing rhythm guitar behind you.
My opinion is there is one guy there that Stevie learned most everything from...... Buddy Guy
@@stevenseul361: You must be kidding. Buddy Guy is the most over rated loser in the music business. He STINKS.

Eric Clapton is a gentleman. He has no problem letting another musician have the spotlight!❤❤❤
That's why Eric is God.

Stevie reminded them of the Joy of Playing
Is this the concert at Alpine Village in Wisconson?
@@tompease8810There is bootlegged audio of the Alpine Valley show, but no video. This is taken from the show after SRV died...a Tribute to SRV. They just spliced in SRV on Austin City Limits so it looks like he's with all the others, but he wasn't.
Stevie Ray Vaughn is incomparable. Everyone on that stage knows it.
Stevie would tell you his mentor and teacher and hero was Jimmie...
@@pjj9491 😂😂😂
@FREE BIRD yes he did. They both knew Stevie was better, but Jimmy created the space for Stevie to grow. Jimmy is underrated. Have you ever listened to “Life By The Drop?” One of my favorite songs. I used to sing a harmony with it... it’s the most lovely song from a brother to a brother.
I get replies almost daily about my comments about Stevie Ray Vaughan. That’s never happened. It’s a testament to how important he was and is.
@marie s
Except I believe Stevie Ray Vaughn wasn't at that live concert.
These were most of the guys that played with Stevie on his final tour, the night before his helicopter crashed into that mountain, killing him.
All the video footage of Stevie Ray?
Was taken from his appearance on Austin City Limits.
This was a tribute video, so it's obvious that Stevie Ray wasn't actually on that stage playing with all those blues legends.
If you notice?
He's never on the stage at the same time as everyone else, interacting with them.
He had tragically already died by this point.
@@maries4178 “ Life by the Drop” is my fav SRV song!
Stevie was FLAWLESS!!! He was the baddest cat to ever pick up a guitar. I've never had a musician that brought me to tears when I heard their music. Stevie had a gift that was unmatched. I truly believe that he didn't realize just how good he was. It was as if he was plugged into another universe. Loosing him was the single greatest tragedy the music world ever experienced. To say he was a legend didn't even begin to tell the truth of his genius!!! Those around him in this video knew what they were witnessing. He was an Angel sent from heaven. God I miss him so much!!!!!
Let's not forget Mark koffler.. of D. S
Well said brother we lost a GREAT ONE way to early , I remember hearing Stevie for the first time in Louisiana at a friends house and just freaked out and said who is that, My buddy told me he is home grown meaning from Louisiana .
He was close but a different state..born and rasied in Dallas..
Losing
He is from Dallas though so your buddy was toying with your emotions
They'll never be another Stevie Ray Vaughan
I was BLESSED to have seen STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN in Chapel Hill NC on April 17th 1988 at MEMORIAL HALL it only held a couple of thousand people. Right as Stevie Ray took the stage and started to play LOVE STRUCK BABY. A transformer blew out and there was NO POWER for a hour. By the time Stevie Ray got back on stage which was only Three Feet off the ground, alot of people had gone. Stevie Ray said, "FOR THOSE WHO STUCK AROUND WHY DON'T I PLAY A SPECIAL SHOW FOR YOU!" I was up front standing in front his microphone STEVIE RAY was sweating on me and I was able to put my hand on his SRV GUITAR! 👏 I'M TELLING YOU HE PLAYED (4 1/2 HRS) VOODOO CHILD WITH HIS TEETH AND BEHIND HIS HEAD! BY THE TIME STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN FINISHED PLAYING. HE SAID, "I BELIEVE I'VE PLAYED EVERYTHING I KNOW" /LAUGHING/ HE THANK THOSE FOR STICKING, TELL Y'ALL FRIEND'S WHAT THEY MISSED. ADIOS AMIGOS!
I'VE SEEN LED ZEPPELIN AND HUNDREDS OF CONCERTS BUT I'LL NEVER EVER FORGET SEEING STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN! I LOVE HIM AND MISS HIM SO MUCH! R. I. P. STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN 👏🙏⭐

I don't believe Stevie had even peaked yet. Just imagine how good he would have been ten years, and then twenty years after his death.
I was there!! Greatest concert EVER!! They JAMMED on every song!! The legends that were all assembled was phenomenal!!!

I was there too, no... wait, I wasn't born yet. BUT I WAS STILL THERE!!!
Damn! The best guitarists on the planet are on the same stage and jamming the best Robert Johnson song. How blessed are those who got to see it live???
I saw both of them and consider myself extremely blessed. Still extremely sad all these years later but SRV's music will continue on forever.
I saw them all playing this song at Alpine Valley, August 1990, the night before Stevie's last show. I count my blessings for having been there.
It's not a Real exibithion but a mix of two.. they never appear in the same stage in the video.
I was also at both nights of the the Alpine shows, I just handed down my still good condition shirt from these shows
Extremely!!! I'm in awe. K
I saw this live, and personally, one of the greatest moments in blue's/ rock history. Why don't people play the guitar like this anymore?
This is as fake as fake can be my dear, this is a mashup of 'A tribute to SRV' (1995) and 'Live from Austin,TX' (1989) (probably not 1983)
RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990), age 35
You will be remembered as a legend.
SRV 4 EVER
I grew up in Texas and never did I go see him in concert..my loss 🥹🥺🥹🥺
SRV was asked who his favorite guitar player ever and he said his brother Jimmy was. Classy dude, the Sky is still Crying except the tears rolling down my face watching this.
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN LOVED HIS BROTHER AND FOR JIMMIE TO DEDICATE TICK TOCK WAS A GREAT HONOR FOR JIMMIE TO COMPLIMENT HIS BROTHER ABOUT BEING HIS FAVORITE GUITAR PLAYER, I GIVE IT UP TO HIM, I LOVED STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN, HE WAS A PURE GENIUS ON HIS GUITARS AND LOVED HIS SINGING. Ya Austin/Antones was soo hot/cool. SRV/Albert King/BB King/Eric Clapton: how good.
lived in Austin 82 to 87..Antones, Hole in the Wall, Liberty Lunch..I will never have a time like that again..
robert lahti I live by red rocks and have seen many great shows never srv.
Yeah, from guys who moved there from DFW: The Vaughan brothers, Lou Ann Barton, Paul Ray, Denny Freeman, Jack Newhouse, and Alex Napier. If it weren't for Dallas and Fort Worth Austin wouldn't have had diddley for blues musicians.
@@Pecos45 yeah agree with you
man and that's why his The White God of Blues
Whenever you walk into a room and own it you’re him nobody will ever be him
I love him! Stevie is the GOAT. Great as he was, I was always touched by his humility!! Wonderful man! He made a "Blues" fan of me. He seemed to simply "Channel" the Blues to us Pure. He was 100per cent given over to the music becoming a vessel delivering the treasure to us.
There must be one hell of a jam session in heaven with SRV, Robert Johnson, Les Paul , Django Rienhardt , etc. on Saturday nights!
Know
And Rory Gallagher
Takes your breath away all that talent in one place.
Hello dear how are you doing over there ?
Guitarists at their finest ❤ SRV 🎉
30 years ago tonight.....my heart still aches. I saw Eric 2x that tour in LA.....if only SRV had opened! RIP....
i love how clapton said after the session how am i supposed to compete with him hes too dam good for me then he was taken from us
Amazing Bluesmen and We can't forget Awesome Blues Lady Ms.Bonnie Raitt Wonderful Tribute for Stevie Ray ♥️
Sheila Barron IDK why Bonnie Raitt didn't get credit, she was on stage w/him the night before we lost him. She played at the MN State Fair next day, said "let's do this one for Stevie, that's what the blues are all about".
My heart still breaks
Well her version of Pride and Joy... Raitt:"this one's for Stevie, Stevie was all of our pride and joy, this one is for you baby.." is one hell of a steamy version.
There is absolutely nothing better than these guys... EVER !!!!
I was there. Best live performance I've ever seen.
I was fortunate to see SRV 3 times. Once he opened for Jeff Back in 1989 and twice I saw him at the Alpine Valley show in 1990.
I was literally about 2,500 ft away when his helicopter crashed. I don't believe anyone heard it. I remember driving home that night (back to Chicago suburbs) and it was very foggy, so foggy that I barely could see the hood of my car. I was quite concerned about hitting the car in front of me. I only learned of the terrible tragedy the following morning.
That night we lost SRV and a few years ago (2008) us fans lost another phenomenal blues player who played at that show: Jeff Healey.
R.I.P. guys.
man what i wouldn't give to see him live, unfortunate to be born in 95.
U were truly blessed to see/hear one of the best! I wished I could have seen him. I remember Jeff Healey being on Road House great movie.
:-((
The music is not synchro with video.
Quite a story, what a terrible accident that was.......a one off for sure as a palyer. He had huge hands, a high action and like played the heavy guauge strings.....15s...? I never saw him. Lucky you !
Very few guitar players get that signature sound....SRV was one....others are Page, The Edge, Gilmour, Joe Walsh......Blackmore and Jimmie H of course. BB.......Billy Gibbons........any more...that guy who played the Tele for Elvis.. James Burton.....George Harrison maybe...? Prince of course......
Stevie respectively outshined everyone.
You can tell with him he's not showing off or trying to out do anyone. It's just pure passion he can't keep a lid on.
A true great. Wish he was still here.
Hi dear how are you doing over there ?
Clapton was always so humble. The guy never wanted the limelight even though he was probably the most popular and mainstream guitarist on that stage. He always likes to sit back and just play.
RIP Stevie :(
What a line up.... what a sound. So much talent
LOVE LOVE STEVIE SO MUCH, HE MAKES MY HEART SING!!!!!!!!!!
Hello dear how are you doing over there ?
