Hi Dan - not sure if you will see this? Sorry I can't seem to be able to open your post and can only see the first part - think it may have been me down there fishing? It was pretty quiet there so was about to move when you guys turned up so all good. I don't really film night fishing unless I have Stevo or Pea with me - it's a little to hard with no lights and camera set up etc. I moved to another spot and got a few nice hits with just the one nice fish around 8lb to take home. OInly had a couple of hours to play with but was nice to just get out and get a line wet... Hopefully you guys got a fish or two - great to hear you where out there fishing with your young fella :-) Tight lines
Great to see you back brother, have you ever used the pulley rig system? Iv seen this used abit for surfcasting lately. I make my own dropper rigs but was looking at trying something different.
Was a horse of a Trev and my biggest from the sand - didn't have a measure mat but was roughly 85cm. Was a long fish and reminded me of the big GT's they get overseas. Tight lines
@@NewZealandOceanArt Use to fish the rocks a lot back in the mid to late 90's - had a few awesome spots that use to produce plenty of double fig snaps. Have only caught a few trev's in the boat up that way. tight lines
I have a revenger pro 13.6 surf combo,cascade 13.6 surf combo.x factor softbait rod with a revenger 30 reel,ceymar 365 baitrunner reel too.looking at the ceymar 8ft rod to use as a strayline combo off the boat and/or rocks.looking at the cortez for my next purchace.

Hi W a That's the Abu Veritas LR - I now fish with the Okuma Nanomatrix mainly due to the weight difference. The Veritas is quite a heavy rod but a good work horse, I'm running the Penn 7500 long cast on that one and the Okuma Trio Rex Salt on the Matrix :-) Tight lines
Hi Kam Don't travel South but am looking at maybe trying to get to Mokau at some stage - been wanting to get there for a good 5-6yrs now but just never get the time. Hope you've been getting a few yourself down that way :-) Tight lines
