How could anyone not love Ronnie Wood? Love the guy. Amazing human being ❤️
Absolute gold! I bet Glen is chuffed to be standing in for one of his heroes (and playing on a McCartney song). Kenney- solid as ever. RIP Ronnie Lane and Mac. Ronnie Wood is happy, and good enough, to jam with anyone. His joy in playing music always shines through
I wish Mac was still here.
And the other Ronny
So so great to see Glen Matlock rightly take his place alongside all these great rock and roll legends - I met Glen at the City Winery in NYC after a gig opeing for Ian Hunter and he was not only the nicest guy in the world, but very very humble about the industry. This is so great for Glen and for us fans!
Such a cool way of playing "Maybe I'm Amazed".... the guitar is phrased perfectly. Perfect tone. Very good.
ROCK & ROLL GODS!!!
I’m 66 and I remember listening to Ronnie when I was in high school in 71, WTF..........NOT ENOUGH CREDIT has been given to both Ronnies, Mac, Steve Marriot, and others who played with Rod Stewart, the Stones, Humble Pie, and many others from the 70s. When you think about a lot of the songs from that time, and how well many of them hold up still today it’s simply mind boggling, but it just illustrates that good music is good music. To another 50yrs!
agree Johnno. well said bro
Ronnie has been a member of the stones for a long long time and IMO he still isn't treated like a stones member.
it's all about Jagger and Richards, just my opinion though.
Ron Wood...dude has still got it.
God Bless them all.
Who?
amazing how ron wood can easily slip back into his "Faces" period of guitar licks. the band really sounds great
Intimate videos like this of absolute professionals, just warming up making amazing music is why I spend hours on UA-cam
I agree. I love videos of this type. Just the casual talking, jamming and joking around. All the behind the scene stuff.
STD882 makes it feel like you’re actually there.. always looking for good footage of bands in the studio..
Baby I'm So Amazed ! RIP Ian Mac & Ronnie Lane. The Faces will always be Amazingly FAB & Fantastic, Forever !
The Small Faces too!
RIP Steve Marriott!
On the Stones most current leg of their ‘No Filter’ tour in Europe, I stayed at the same hotel in a Florence as Ron. My wife and I were in the hotel lounge one evening and my wife had got some baby clothes for Ron’s twins. He came over and sat with us to talk but his son Jesse showed up and Ron wanted to go have a visit. It’s cool when I think back on all the times I have met Ron. Different wives, new kids, yet he is a gentle loving soul through all the years. He is such a good musician. I think he is more happy now than he has been in a long time. So sorry for Ian.
Glad this showed up! One of my favorite band's .....the Faces were the best bar band ever hands down.
I love those Ronnie’s so much...
Ron Wood's a tasty player man
11-03-2019 Great photos & memories of their "Glory Days" epoca.
As time goes by, and things come to and end, it brings both happiness and sadness, especially suffering losses of great musicians as was bassist Ronnie Lane.
I was lucky enough to see Faces twice. Truly a fantastic band. Anybody who calls them a bar band has never paid attention.
The sound is incredible just like back in 71 or 73, a well oiled machine for sure. It's like Lou Reed described the VU reunion in the early 90's. "It was like starting up an old motorcycle".
Unfortunately, Lou sabotaged the reunion before it had a chance to take off. Treated the other 3 like they were his backing band. Totally unforgivable. That reunion is a great reminder that some things are best left alone.
Hell yes its Glenn !!!!!!!!!!
I'm Amazed listening to the guys playing McCartney's 'Maybe Im Amazed'! - :)
How lovely to run into Alan Rogan again unexpectedly god rest him
The Faces. So cool always
Now that is the way to practice ! And get warmed up ! 😁🖒✌
Seeing some of these guys brings back memories of Ronnie Lane. He was such a big part of Small Faces and Faces. Ronnie died in Trinidad, Colorado back in '97 from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. He was only 51 years old at the time. We'll always miss you Ronnie.........
A great musician and an even greater human being... RIP Ronnie Lane. We could use a few like you nowadays Ronnie.
Ronnie Lane was the cement that held Marriott, Jones and McLagen together.
Ron Cromer it was so sad. He deteriorated so quickly. I loved him in the small faces and the faces. Loved that funny little shuffle he did while playing . He had great style. Truly missed.
@@bethshields4903 Love Steve Marriot but his best days were with Ronnie Lane
Great band. Shame how it all ended and the bad feeling between Ian and Rod, they looked so happy back in the day and were so good, proper live band.
According to Ron it changed when a poster advertising a gig read; Appearing tonight Rod Stewart with the Faces, previously they were the Faces with Rod Stewart.for Ron that was a chrystaline moment and he thought where's my parachute?.
It's amazing when you think that Kenney and Mac first worked together nearly half a century ago.
That was so special! Thank you!
I know that the Faces were a sort of supergroup back in the day but look at how many cool bands this lot have been through , Small Faces , The Who , The Rolling Stones , Sex Pistols .. Wow !
Supergroup caused the breakup. Then it just became the Rod Stewart show...
Jeff Beck Group

Reef!!
Such a way cool video makes you feel like your there with them and great music tks 💜
Incredible to see/hear.
Hey everybody... it’s RON F’n WOOD. You think he gives a F$&! what u mere mortals think about his rehearsal?!!This dude was in the FACES and THE ROLLING STONES!!! And he still on this side of the ground with a Strat in his hand. What’s the name of your band guys?? A true guitar god. Killer rhythm, lead, slide player. And BTW ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ has always been a Faces live staple. Better than Sir Paul’s version too!
Great comment.
I love it when all the mick Taylor fans show up & batter Ron around! Ask mick Taylor what he thinks about Ronnie wood! He will tell you hes a great player..
Great slide guy. His sound is so distinct as soon as you hear his slide you know its him! Plays harmonica, lap steel, sings, plays phenomenal bass just ask jeff beck. Have any of you haters seen Ronnie play a bass? He could tour with just about group playing just bass..
Ronnie is the swiss army knife of music. So versitile and good. So him live enjoyed his playing live more than jimmy page or EC or Townsend all those 70s gods.
Ronnie brought fun to the faces & loads of talent (he can write too, stay with me) to the scene. It's to bad the stones never used Ronnie where his strengths could shine. The faces yes, stones no!
Rock on RW.
thanks RON LOL
@@davideyskens8720 HELL YEAH!!!!!
RONNIE ADORES HIS FANS/FRIENDS...
What did PAGE DO???
Make groupies shit in a LITTER BOX... LIKE AN ANIMAL!!!!
Love Taylor BUtttt he WASn'T a STONE for life... RONNIE was BORN ONE!!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Love coming back to this clip.
Très belles images, et la musique... whaou ! The Faces in my soul, in my heart, for ever.
Yes, Glen Matlock should be proud of being dropped from Pistols for being 'too good musically'.! 😀😂
Great and amazing rock band!

Ronnie's son Jesse on 2nd guitar there, he's guitarist for Reef these days, another great band.
This is brilliant, Woody is sounding better than ever. Nice to see Alan R teching!!!!
Hope they release a DVD and include some of this footage.
Keith
//o-o\\
great to see the boys back at it! bring that to america. thx.
Remember seeing them live in the mid 70’s at Lewisham Odeon. What a night !
Abrar Ahmed ; I'm envious...they musta' rocked hard ! Faces just didn't last long enough...
Met them all in a pub called the Intrepid Fox in Wardour Street London back in 71 I believe they had just done Top of the Pops Maggie May. Great memories
RIP, Ian "Mac" McLagan. So sad to hear the news. He died of stroke today in Austin, TX, just before going on tour with Nick Lowe.
Chris Hann Ian Mac never ever got the recognition he deserved he was awsome
Ian Mac never got the recognition he deserved he was awsome
Madeleine Hague I was so sad when I read this
MAC was a great player Hammond B3 master! RIP Mac

RIP Mac & thanks for the music.
Thanks for supplying this information, keefseter.
RIP Mac and Ronnie.
thx for uploading this
This is my favourite UA-cam video ever!
boymacwerter ; agree...it's very special. And Mac's gone too...🙁
Maybe I'm Amazed... good job lads....
Ronnie Wood is an underrated guitarist. He's never on the list of the worlds greatest guitarist. Yet, Id bet money if you compiled a list of iconic songs. Not just songs that became a hit, but songs that continue to be played 40 years later. Between his work with the Faces, Rod Stewart solo & the Stones, his guitar is featured on more iconic classic songs than any other guitarist out there.
Before you respond with Jeff Beck, He played bass on those recordings so doesn't add to this point.
Very sweet song, which is given a very nice treatment by Ronnie and his mates in an informal session. Ronnies playing is nice and touching, and very clean and precise, all at the same time. A for me, I try to compose stuff on my guitar, with... 1.) Originality, 2.)Touch, Feel, and Expressiveness, and 3.) Emotion. And I never come close to any one of these things.
Ronnie does all 3 in spades, on a song that was played A LOT in my region. I really love this informal performance. Needless to say, Ronnie rocks!
You even know what song it is, cement head?
@@carrrexx7190
Now why would you want to confirm all suspicions about you by making that comment?
I’m amazed 👏👏👏
Proper talent
This was great. Just waiting for Roddy ''MAYBEE I'M IMAZED'' Thanks for up.
Ronnie Wood never misses a single note or chord , try doing that at home on your guitar 🎸
It’s his job
baby i am amazed ......................
I know that is Glen playing bass. I was answering the question posted about "The Japanese fellow" Yes, Tetus played Fender's, but also used a half metal front Zemaitis bass. he still owns it and uses it in Japan. Cheers Keith
I got to tech for Kenny with the Jones Gang on a live TV 8 broadcast here in Cleveland.
Wow!!the big faces!!superlative!!🎸🎹
I met Mac at a bar in Toronto in June following his performance. He is one of those magical people that make you feel like an old friend right away.
I had the same experience with Rob Halford pre a UFO gig at the T&CC and again with Steve Marriot at the Marques of Queensbury pub on the Old Kent rd back in the 90's. Made to feel right at home. No rush or pretence. Just good people.
That was an unexpected delicious treat. Ron Wood is so fluid and comfortable here. I hope he maintains it in the Stones upcoming tour, I am going to 10 of the shows.
Erm you do realize that this is 9 years old
thanks for the video....nice strat
A hard tail 55 Stratocaster ! Drool worthy . Ronnie has had several . Alan Rogan a true tech legend.
Thanks for letting me know. It must be a real kick for all of these rock stars to now be playing with their grown kids.
RIP Mac, a great player x
He really nailed the song
For me once they get going at 2:42 the chemistry, the melodies, the beat - is pure magic. What a great unit all blending in, the drums with this live sound and oh, that Hammond B-3 organ with the Leslie speaker. Then there are Ronnie’s ultra clean Strat chords and fills.
Riff Digger That is old vintage Stratocaster Ronnie is playing! Ronnie! Has a bunch of old vintage guitars from Gibson's the Les Paul's and others! Yeah he has over three thousand guitars!
fucking sounded horrible, these guys need some coke...0 magic
you cannot compete with Paul
Wow , legends of an era of musicians that can not be duplicated 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Bro
Maybe I'm amazed... good to see/hear....
Surprising 'cos it's s Beatles number....
Kenny Jones looks amazing does he not age!!!
I'd buy this. "mellowed-out faces"
Just wish Rod would come’n’join in more often.
baby Im amazed
I love the Pistols & the Birds ⚡️
The stones and faces .. interchangeable
100% agreed.Right on.
Ron Wood: the most underrated legend of all time
Logan Peterson I 100% agree. He is also a great artist with the brush... So creative and an unselfish player.
Funniest thing I've heard all day,Chuck
Ronnie lived in Keith shadow but better musician in my opinion.
@@davew4930 yep. Too bad he has to take a backseat to Keith's poor playing in the Stones. Keith is a legend and a good songwriter but no comparison to Ronnie musically.
not underrated, just happened to be associated with some powerhouse figures that had the spotlight.
Yes, Tetsu is still palying bass in Japan. He still has the Zemaitis bass that he played with The Faces.
Maybe I'm amazed!
glen matlock bravo
to you young people notice two mikes in the "leslie' to give a moving sound for the Hammond B3 organ..well !some don't know this stuff .....the drum kits got a lot bigger ! ha ha
its great to see the guys back rockin and a rollin together. robert st james, andrew 'the pumper' pumper on drums, stewart mclain on the piano and in the silver wig. simply amazing
Sometimes the raw lets you appreciate the refined.
Ooooh yeahhh - this (or bettter they) still sound(s) really great. It's so different (in sense of wonderful) compared to the stuff we get today, especially on radio (which is mostly horrible here in Germany). I like this reunion :-). Nevertheless I'm more a Small Faces fan ;-).
Oh for sure it took both Stewart AND Ronnie Wood to replace the awesome, late great Steve Marriot
Ian & Ron :)
What a magical way to play guitar
Matlock on bass !
Rip Ian
Soo nice
They are all TASTY mate!
What a shame they could never get back together before Lane got sick. Four studio albums and some live bootleg recordings… still not enough. These guys were barely contained chaos.
Glen Matlock playing bass with the Faces !!!
Cool band autantic
I like this better than the original, and I never say that. Please be aware I see Ronnie every Stones tour, and have been to many of Paul’s shows. I say this to show I have some experience as a ‘lay person’ or fan. Listened to both on records my whole life and been to many years of shows.
It's amazing what sobriety will do for you.
Here’s proof that you don’t have to play loud loud all the time at all.....
RIP Mac and RIP Alan Rogan.
Now thats a rock and roll band that needs a helping hand.
dragging the time to point where I couldn't listen anymore
Ron Wood is really a "Face"!
Ronnie nails the solo from LONG PLAYER on maybe..that was the first i heard of him...tho I knew he was w/J beck..and i then got the first step album...if i remember correctly ..i got this for christmas..funny seeing the poster..faces..war..peter frampton..isaw faces frampton blu oyster cult..the 1st time it was faces ..cactus ..badfinger..both at the old boston garden...Thanks...DH
DHgtr1 You're kidding he's been with The Rolling Stones since 1975! Before that he was in Rod Stewart's Faces Group!
DHgtr1 You saw a Bad finger to?
