    Just put these on my Tundra.
    Absolutely love them.
    It snowed the day after getting them and they did phenomenally well.
    Would recommend

    Had these tires on a 2019 Tacoma , I had 30k miles and they still never had a problem with anything Texas threw at them . Totaled the truck and I was blessed to have the opportunity to buy a gladiator, and the factory tires are killing me . I’m buying the duratracs in a month . Great tires really hard to beat

    I have a sequoia and I have kelly a/s for the summer and duratracs (both 265/65 17) both are very quiet and the kellys get slightly better mileage. The real reason I got the kellys is because I dont want to wear my duratracs on those super hot days.
    Duratrac for the win!!

    Good review on these tires, I might have to give em' a shot when I get new rubber on my D21.
    Hey bro you should definitely try to find out if you have a factory limited slip differential, it would make a huge difference off road with those tires.

    They are also available in stock Jeep sizes that many other top rated tires are not. Really surprised they are not at the top of more tire reviews.

    Mud yes, snow... well, think about some mud tires. They're absolutely garbage in snow. Why? Because they throw that snow from tire and it's the snow-on-snow that creates friction, not snow-on-rubber. So while these Duratracs have those small grooves to hold snow in them and make them decent in snow, the big lugs don't help at all. It's the small ones.
    I know this, because 1) it's just how it is and 2) we get a lot of snow during winter here in Finland and we also need to use proper winter tires (by law) in our vehicles during that time. Either studded or friction ones, but winter tires none the less. Those with M+S markings can be used, but they're not the best option. I've also owned Duratracs for some while now and ran them through snow and ice and compared to my vehicles proper winter tires, they're not bad, but still inferior, because the winter tires have a lot of those small grooves that bind snow in them while overall the pattern isn't much more aggressive (at least the deepness) than normal street tires. Of course studs help too, but that's only on ice.
    Duratracs on the other hand are pretty bad on ice as any tire without studs. I did leave them on during last winter and you could think it like this: My other car is Golf GTI Mk5 and it has set of brand new winter tires with studs. My other one, with Duratracs, is Jeep WK with Quadra Drive 2. Very awesome system, but during the winter, on ice or snow, my Golf actually gets much MUCH more traction (making it far safer to drive) than my Jeep with those duratracs. The difference is so massive: FWD owning Quadra Drive 2 on ice and snow if equipped with proper winter tires.
    That being said, overall I really love my Duratracs. They're quiet (as quiet as my earlier street tires on my Jeep), they have plenty of traction in sand, mud, gravel... you name it. And even good grip on wet tarmac. They'll be my go-to tires for the Jeep for sure, but when it's icy and I haven't switched to proper winter tires on my Jeep, I tend to drive in my Golf for safer travelling and better traction. In deep snow of course the QD2 and increased ground clearance wins for the Jeep, but when I had those winter tires on it, it plowed through snow like it wasn't there. Now with Duratracs you can get wheel spin, because they don't provide enough friction.
    Anyhow, that's just my take on these tires, which ARE very great. Just not that good for winter. But obviously if you can't get your hands on good winter tires (like Nokian Hakkapeliitta or something) or don't really have that much use for them because law doesn't require them or your winter is somewhat short and mild, then Duratracs are good option. Certainly leagues better in winter than any big aggressive mud tires 😄

      Duratracs can be studded too

    • @finnishfatman
      @finnishfatman 3 роки тому

      @@TJS777SJT I know, tho there are 2 versions out there and I got the ones without the holes. And the amount of studs it can have (if you don't drill more holes) ìsn't that great, so if I wanted to get witner tires with studs, I'd buy some proper ones and wouldn't waste Duratracs for that.

    • @tortuga7160
      @tortuga7160 3 роки тому

      Think you got that backwards. Duratracs have an extremely good reputation in snow removal/snow plow circles. Duratracs tend to clog up in the mud though. I took off my BFG km2s because they are rubbish on snow and ice (on road, daily driver) Duratracs much better.

    • @finnishfatman
      @finnishfatman 3 роки тому

      @@tortuga7160 That's just the thing: snow removal is bad for snow driving. Why? Because it's snow on snow that creates friction and traction and not snow on rubber. Completely different from mud.
      They are decent in snow yes, but compared to true winter tires they don't perform nowhere near as well.
      How do I know this? Because first, we have a craploads of snow here in Finland during the winter and it's a long winter. Second, I own duratracs for my Jeep WK. I've driven them through deep snow (knee deep at least). I also own, for the same vehicle, Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 SUV tires, which are superior for snow traction, because they have more siping than duratracs. So I can compare duratracs with real snow tires, because I use them both on the very same vehicle and do a lot of snow and ice driving.
      Duratracs aren't completely bad, because they too have siping which binds snow (remember, it's snow on snow that creates friction) but it has them far less than Hakka 10.
      But yeah, km2's or any mud terrains are horrible in snow because of their design to get rid of as much stuff on them as possible.
