What I especially love about this Godzilla is that it brings up a quality that only certain amazing characters have: Being taught that there IS good in the world. You would be surprised to learn that this Godzilla has SO MUCH in common with another fantastic character I have been learning to appreciate much more in TV shows; Superman! Think about it. Superman was taught his moral values through being raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent. He was TAUGHT that there is good in the world. That we don't kill. That the strong must ALWAYS defend the weak. To respect others. This Godzilla was TAUGHT good moral values by Nick and gang, which is a brilliant reflection upon the original Toho Godzilla from 54 who wasn't raised with these values. Being a natural creature of the earth who often witnesses his species go extinct throughout the franchise, the Godzilla that is shown destroying Tokyo is one filled with hatred and rage. Because that is a Godzilla who only KNOWS hatred and rage. After once perhaps knowing kindness, empathy, and co-existence with it's kind, watching them all get wiped out in a flash (literally due to atomic testing) and becoming horribly mutated, Godzilla had become engrained with sheer and utter anger. But on the off-chance that Godzilla would get raised by a human that is genuinely a good person, it would go to show that Godzilla and humanity CAN co-exist. Not only that, but Godzilla would be raised with good moral values and DEFEND the weak. Often going out of his way to defend humanity. Again making Godzilla the complete opposite of what the 54 Goji was is just fantastic. That's another thing this show just GETS!
He just laid out all evidence as to why this series is so special and why it's a good idea to bring this show back. I honestly felt compassion for these human characters and worried about them when they into these monster fights, alongside Godzilla. We need more kaiju shows treated with respect just like this Godzilla show.

This show and King Kong 2005 were my whole childhood. In my heart, their depictions of Kong and Godzilla are the gold standard for media to follow. This show is still to this day my favorite Godzilla media. Philip Roach from the 1998 movie is also still my favorite Godzilla character, with Nick in a close second. And this series has by far my favorite human cast out of any other Godzilla or Kong media. When we get another animated Godzilla or King Kong series, I hope they use this as a blueprint. Oh, and I fucking love the monster designs here. They fit perfectly with the 1998 style, while being as badass and powerful as Toho Kaiju. Godzilla's Monster of the Week movie format works perfectly for an animated series. The Intro still gives me goosebumps.
dude your videos are great I really like your how I would do a movie series I think you should do a remake of how I would do Godzilla king of the monsters your first video of it was great but lately, you've been making a lot of your videos of how I would do a lot more detailed like into the human stuff especially in your how I would do Godzilla vs Kong video since in king of the monsters you just focused on the monster side of things I don't know just thought it would be a cool idea. I still liked that video tho
I remember wishing they showed the kaiju's to have more emotions as most of the time they feel like there just trying to kill things to be the villain, but this series just throws that part out the window, I've always liked Godzilla's design in 1998, the HD version of this show may be the closest thing to another Godzilla movie with the Godzilla 1998 design included, I can't wait to start watching this thing.
Hey dude, great video. Helped me be entertained while I was preparing for my next semester. I really love how this show made singular point pale in comparison alongside the animated kong show. I remember scouring through every store only to find that they either were out of stock or they didn’t have any copy. Hopefully if in a few years they can do it again with better writing for the humans and kaiju, like seriously both Kong and Godzilla had personality oozing from their interactions with the human cast, especially this incarnation of Godzilla who would normally have any incarnation just not care for us humans but here, he actually goes out of his way to stand up for the humans
this show was always my childhood and seeing the reasons for why it's great (which I myself couldn't explain) is amazing because now I fully understand why I like the show
Major props to lead creature designer Fil Barlow, giving even the most mundane kinds of mutations like rodents, bees and hummingbirds that level of extra textural detail and flair that makes them look monstrous.
Seriously!!! This show has some of the best looking monsters! It beats out a lot of modern ones we’re seeing today! I love the plesiosaur monster, bat monster, yeti, king cobra, and Quetzalcoatlus! Just a few that come to mind. They’re greatly written and especially designed!

MV Godzilla has mad plot armor, GvK Kong has no idea how to fight, he already had an axe which did more harm than good, he would probably spend the fight running while trying to figure out how to use his newfound powers. But it COULD be a great fight, it all depends on the quality of the writing and how much the filmmakers care about each monster.
Zilla jr. can easily make it into monsterverse. Godzilla stumbles upon an egg, the egg hatches and Zilla imprints Godzilla as his parent. Zilla quickly grows up and he is fast and cunning, and maybe has more empathy like the show, although then maybe he would be becoming too much like Kong.

Extremely Controversial Opinion: I think the show is very impressively overrated. Don't get me wrong I understand why people like it and it is pretty great as it's own thing. I just don't like it as much because it is based on it's precursor film that tried to be a Godzilla film, but failed, but succeeded to be it's own thing. The Animation is kinda not good, I liked the animation in the opening better. I wished we gotten a Godzilla Animated Series based on the Godzilla Kotm-doom island trendmasters toyline.

For some, the taste of the 98 film is just way too hard to wash out of their tongues, and I genuinely can't blame anyone for thinking that. The animation is definitely dated but I do really like it, it's very fitting and it can be dark when it wants to and very bright and lovely looking whenever the scene calls for it. But to each their own though! And yeah, the trendmasters toys having those kinds of monsters in the show would be amazing! Great idea!
