Thanks! I did not add the section though - it is part of the holo viewer model, but since right now it's to bulky to actually rotate without intersecting, they simply hid that part in their concept.

Came here from reddit, thank you for the time and effort put into showing and carefully explaining the ship! This is the thing CIG should be doing at concept sales, and they could have easily done at least a passable version of what you did, while you went into better detail. o7
I added a link to this video in my reviews on spirits. I hope I can help you grow your followers. Keep making videos like this about new ships - it's very very very helpful for us!!!!
I am sold on that concept, even if its bigger than some might have expected. And i don't think that the bigger cross section matters if it is as fast and maneuverable as the double 4 thrusters suggest.
Awesome work. Got a new sub for this type of video. So much better than people showing CIG video and rambling. I think if you add a player model to move around that would also help visualize size better.
The small interior was something I picked up on right away. Like the Freelancers, the Spirit just has a corridor for it's interior (I call it a tube ship). It's a ship that looks much bigger on the outside than it is on the inside.
Great work! This gives us a nice perspective. I knew Spirit is bigger than Cutlass but I didn't know it was so big, almost MSR big. I still consider MSR my favourite ship, but it is a little tiresome to deal with the size and the single entrance through the huge hangar door. Spirit seems to be somewhat easier to fly for small tasks. But may have the same negative features. I didn't love that compared to freelancer, which has a similar interior size, the exterior size seems so dedicated to the wings.

Unsure exactly when but the website with specifications for the Spirit variants was changed with more realistic values (46.5m long, 43.5m beam, 10m height) So about in-between the values you'd had
I know, production took a few days, but those are actually the very same measurements I used - I said 49m from my memory, but what you see is 46.6. Just the 10 height they gave must be with landing gear, it is only 8m right now.
@tristPWN This was an awesome first look with the models at hand ! If possible, could you show us a Spirit A1 version ? I'm looking for a closer visualization of how narrow the walkway between the bombs will be ( I want to use the walkway to store multiple boxes for box missions while having a ROC in the back). Would really like to see your rough model of the A1 ! Exellent job and thank you for your work !
Not sure if I can justify spending that kind of time again, but If I do, I'd do the A1 for sure. But quick answer, the room is quite wide, I'd guess the bombing racks take about the same space as the SCU boxes, so still atleast 3 meters width to fill with boxes. Even placing them in the middle so you can still access both bomb sides should be easy.
@@ace_tristPWN Great answer ! I'm really just interested in seeing that specific interior portion of the A1 but no worries man, only do it if you have the time for it. You've already gone above and beyond. Have a sub !
There are very easy ones out there - getting the Model into Unity is pretty much drag and drop, and for the VR interaction look for unitys XR toolkit - that handles all the walking, looking, grabbing.
good work, only critique would be that once you've taken off, and turn off vtol mode, the wingtips fold down. you have the flight out of Orison showing it with it still in vtol mode...
I'm hoping we can get alot of the components up in the neck where there's so much cooridor space, or even just basic function/crew utitilies by tightening the cooridor and giving more little side function rooms like a toilet/shower, suit locker, escape pods for A1 maybe?
I don't know why I forgot to say that, but I expect the middle room behind the cargo to have almost or all components. There would maybe be enough space to have a small toilet or escape pod, but there is nothing indicating that in the model or concept.
I hope for the E variant there is a sideways docking port in the front section that doubles as a staircase and a docking port like you would have with passenger planes. Maybe a part of the wider hull can fold up and be the staircase, like you kind of have with the Starfighter. then you could have the mixer in the rear section of the passenger compartment and the entrance at the front. The rear ramp and space in back can then be used for the luggage and service entrance.
Great job on the video...I will end up with the cargo variant. I pledged a carrack, a mole a star runner and a terrapin. This shipvwill be the ship I use between the star runner and the terrapin...again, good video.
