Yes theres turret combat and repair. but how often? with the 20mins warp times. people will be bored to death long before youll find a ship like this useful.
@@TheInvisibleOne I absolutely doubt it, but whatever. 🙂 I also think that players who buy those ships with real money take away all the fun of the game. Like, are you sure you dont want a goal to work for in the game? If you have already the best thing, what is your purpose in the Verse? All the missions become rather dull. When this game is in a somewhat "complete" (server meshing, multiple star systems, functioning and balanced economy, exploration implemented, component gamplay, etc.) state I will happily fly around in my starter ship.

How many wipes since what 2.8? I don't even like the direction the game is going (piracy mainly.) Even Elite was annoying in many aspects. I'm actually looking forward to getting Starfield. I tested it just right now. You can easily intercept missiles all sizes and torpedoes as well. A hornet fired like 4 S2 Missiles at me and not even one reached the Polaris. We repeated it a few times. Not one hit. They are pretty damn good now

the ramp at the start you said was unnecessary was the ramp to load more torps.. so someone would be there and they would load the torps as they got depleted. you can store extra torps on the cargo and then place them on that elevator to get them into the torp loading bay.

the interior, especially the bridge with the galaxy map and the machine room looks heavily inspired by the SSV Normandy from Mass Effect 1, which i really like.
Glad to see RSI ships getting Drake style fidelity and detail. Only reason why I bought the Corsair in game instead of my beloved Conny was the Corsair has so much more fine details imo. Hope they update the Conny ships some. This ship is literally the “I beat the game” ship for me right now. Lol use to was the Conny and/or the Carrack. But this thing is awesome. It will kinda suck when you are going to be forced to have a crew in order to fly a ship like this. I do recall hearing something of AI crew members though. Maybe that’ll make it work out better.
It's going to be so cool to be deep in the 'verse, some unexplored region, part of an org running a Polaris. Sending out scouts to map out the surrounding areas, perhaps explore a moon or planet, and fend off pirates (unless we are the pirates, in which case... still fend off other pirates).
The cool thing about having different weapons on different stations is that with just a command, you can have a full barrage of guns, missiles, and torpedoes going at your targets in an instant
I'm glad to see the holotank at the back of the bridge. For larger orgs and fleet gameplay, people are going to start needing areas for fleet leadership to lead the fleet, and a lot of ships seem to be missing this capability. Captains don't lead fleets, they lead ships. Admirals lead fleets, and it's important to separate these two jobs so that everyone has a place to perform their duties without stepping on each other's toes. I still think the Carrack's bridge layout is nicer in terms of ship's bridge/flag bridge separation, but the Carrack also has a bunch of other things wrong with it, including being an exploration ship not a warship (though it could be a fantastic org carrier with a few modifications CIG!) but the point still stands. It's nice to see a holotank onboard, and appropriately spaced to allow for flagship functions.
Great looking ship and I'm sure would work well for a small org, but as someone with RL commitments and no time to wait for a group to meet up and setup to fly anything like this I now have a yellow sticky on my monitor saying don't buy anything in SC that has more than one seat!
If there are small fighter ships you should load it full of them and go to war with somebody who has the same setup, get a massive crew and just have an all out space war
You can us a game pad, just need to map focus to LB, then Hold left bumper and then hold right bumper as a options wheel opens, use right analogue stick to select on the options wheel and press a button. All lifts and doors are now able to be done with game pad
We need to see how many mustangs fit in there. I want mustangs because they just look like they would be a fighter, and with the wings that fold up you can prolly fit a lot more than other ships
Haven't played since 3.18, recently liquidated everything on my account. NGL, seeing the mini map, some updated UI, and finally the Polaris has me a little regretful. Then when it's mission success, they can come back to hot chocolate waiting for them at the crew quarters. It's a genuine possibility in this game.
no one wants to play crew. engineering, etc. i have a feeling theese ships will be hangar bound allmost intirely.
ship like this require atleast 10 people. 1 pilot (everyone wants to fly) and the 9 people doing mondane and boring tasks so the 1 dude has fun.
Yes theres turret combat and repair. but how often? with the 20mins warp times. people will be bored to death long before youll find a ship like this useful.
not to mension youll need to actually have 10 friends online at the same time. and gooood luck with that at the age of 30+
@@Gizmoand23real
@@Gizmoand23 There are tons of players who just want to manage a ship and roleplay as an engineer - you just might not be one of them
@@TheInvisibleOne I absolutely doubt it, but whatever.
No pool? Come oooooon. Just kidding. Probably the best detailed space ship design I've ever seen in any game. Outstanding job guys. 🌟
I don’t really keep up with SC even as a day one original Kickstarter backer. It can be frustrating waiting all these years for the game. That said this has to be one the most amazing detailed spaceship of any game I’ve ever seen. The details is unreal outside and inside as well the stuff in engineering.
I'm on the sidelines as well. If and when it's finally released when windows 14 is out maybe you'll have to upgrade your computer to meet the Chris Roberts spec. Probably spend another $200 plus for another ship or expansion after you spent thousands if you're REALLY following the game. I'm not even reinstalling this thing until 4.0. How many wipes since what 2.8? I don't even like the direction the game is going (piracy mainly.) Even Elite was annoying in many aspects. I'm actually looking forward to getting Starfield. That game actually looked like it got CIG to finally get their asses in gear a bit more.
@@dankurina9191 Last wipe happened roughly 1,5 years ago. CIG confirmed that they don't want to wipe anymore unless it's absolutely necessary. Also Starfield is a completely different game and doesn't even come close to the complexity of SC. Keep that in mind.
You not trying the game till 4.0 is a good decision. 4.0 could and probably will mark the beginning of the development of the actual "game" in terms of content that will be put into the game. I hope you have a good time then :)
@@TheInvisibleOne Thanks for the very civil and on point reply bro I'd assume. I'm amazed you're not as zealous (maybe worse then the Blizzard throng lol) as many SC fans. Yeah I don't know how much money Ardent backed but I managed $700+ (I don't want to grind that much for decent ships after a wipe) for an unfinished game of which I'm probably in the crazy category. I'm sure most restrained themselves while there are bat sh*t crazy ones over $1K at least. I know it's for the devs and they had a smallish team. I can't believe the Polaris is out before the Idris? I know there's more to SC but I fired up Skyrim again and laugh at the possibility of space Skyrim until that 4.0 update. No you have a better day time buddy. 🙂 I may see ya "in the verse" in Pyro or wherever.
@@dankurina9191 I thought the crazy ones were the ones that had the package that was like 48k or something

I really love the fact that they put the cargo access on the sides. It differentiates it from the odyssey concepts and dosen't spread too wide
Why don’t the developers not release this game on steam it would get more players and more publicity
Because it's not even half finished. And it'll never be.
@ this game has been in the oven since 2012 where in the year 2024 what do you mean it is not finished
@@LouiseBelcher69It’s not. It’s got A LOT more to go, including new Star systems, more features, and upgrades to the engine. You can look at the roadmap. It’s not a finished game, in the slightest
@@ScipioTTV Those features sound like DLC my friend this game has been in development for 10 years you can not tell me with a straight face that this game is not finished
@ I can, because it’s true. Too many bugs, not enough content to warrant a full game. The devs themselves say it’s not finished. If everything points to it not being finished, it’s not finished. Like I said, just read the roadmap. 90% of the features on there aren’t content or playable “dlc’s” they’re infrastructure and engine related tweaks, additions, and etc…
It's incredible just how good this looks. Decades of sci-fi and modern architecture blended perfectly together.
He's back!
Finally you're back! We miss you mate and huge congrats ( starlancer max we will be waiting for it )
honestly after seeing this video im defninitly going to pledge this ship.....its everything ive been looking for in a ship and the auto turret defenses are amazing that a solo player could use this as a home and say screw the base building .....and if the Polaris is given the ability to refuel parked ships inside your hangar bay it would make this ship the go to for almost everyone
You might want to wait mate, from the sounds of everything it seems they are planning to make ships like this require multiple people to actually function. Which makes sense as you really shouldn't be able to pilot this by yourself. But if you do pledge for it and ever find yourself needing someone lmk
@@vladorkiba1718fully functioning yes but just to fly and live out of no you can still solo but ur useless in a fight
@Givnz-Tha-Diknz yeah, you can't fire the torps solo (which is good imo)
@@vladorkiba1718 People are misunderstanding Resource Management. It won't be REQUIRED that you perform repairs yourself or as a crew. It'll be POSSIBLE.
And it will still be possible to get repair services instead just like always.
Nothing being introduced is actually making solo any harder than before. It's just making multicrew even better.
@@LucidStrikeyeah but you can have breakdowns and fires and all without being in a fight while you still have to fly it… so it’s still way better to have a crew..
But sure, not a necessity
Carrack is like the explorer's Normandy, and now the Polaris is the fleet captain's Normandy. Love it!
PDCs only work against size 9s torps consistenly. Someone did a pretty good test on it. Anything smaller it just doesn't intercept in time before it hits. CIG putting the cart before the horse again.
PDC's have been buffed since the previous build, they now fire at 1000rpm, up from 600
I tested it just right now. You can easily intercept missiles all sizes and torpedoes as well. A hornet fired like 4 S2 Missiles at me and not even one reached the Polaris. We repeated it a few times. Not one hit. They are pretty damn good now
@@MrBlacksoundz it definitely depends on server performance, but yeah on a decent server, the PDC's are highly effective.
That will get fixed and there are different sized pdc's as well. These are size one the same pdc on the Phoenix. It will be able to intercept small missiles as well as torpedo's.
I'd love to serve aboard one of these, as a gunner, escort fighter or one of the two console operators (power and torpedoes)
80% of us gonna try and solo this all the time 😆
Yep!
I saw what looked like reactor rod submerged in the engineering bay. The level of detailing this ship has is amazing.
this thing is a beast, took more than 7 rail gun shots and not a single thing was red on the selfstatus.
Come on man 7 rail gun shots is nothing for a ship that size
You're talking about a shoulder fired weapon so I don't know what you're going on about it's not like you're talking about a rail gun from a big ship
Dude.... This thing is a hugeeee piece of art!!!!
Med bay doesn't have the signature RSI feel but it's nice to have 4 tier 2 beds. It's definitely not a solo ship and even if you had AI crew not sure some of the function like firing torpedoes would work well. I also went around last night and could not find size 10 torpedoes to buy anywhere.
I believe they've mentioned that they intend for replacement torps to be something you need a blueprint for and craft yourself (eventually)

but my god. the ship is beautiful. the whole design language. it looks like a transformer. and the shot of the cargo ramp opening up to the planet was gorgeous
It's simply amazing how far this game has come.
"far"...ships yes. game, not so much...
Are you sure about that? You're talking about something thats been in the making for over a decade and realistically not a single thing functions correctly or really functions any better than it did 6 or 7 years ago.
@@BlueMax717 I was there when all we could do was look at our ships in a glitchy hanger. I was there when all we had was a little area around Crusader and no real missions. Yeah. Could it have been better, of course. Roberts is a terrible manager. But despite that we are about to have pyro, and begin the road to 1.0. It's come a long way indeed.
You're joking.........right ?..
@@andrewboyer7544 Congrats? notice in my last comment i said the last 6-7 years. Anyone not caught up in the brain washing can admit it.
I dont know why, but the roof hanger and the front bent glass in the cockpit, makes me want to call this a "Combat Carrick." Awesome ship Olli
17:27 you can fly in the commander seat of the Carrack though? And I think the same with the Polaris but haven't tried.
This ship is going to take me forever to grind for. I just got the game downloaded again for the first time since like 2015.
I guess It would be around 50 to 70 million in game. Will take some time but it is possible in a week or two of grind. Lets say 4 weeks if you can not play alot.

Olli has a ship foot fetish 😂
Always nice to appreciate the small stuff…fantastic looking ship
Hope they make big ships to have a harder time when taking off the ground, feel like its so easy
Should have come and joined us the first night. We had a big Polaris meet at New Babbage, 18 Polaris circled up. Server was less than pleased with our Polaris Pizza after that but so worth the trouble to be there for that.
Also you Missed the Cameras in the brig behind desk and food passthrough for cells. and those ramps in hanger floor are blast shields or something those and the hanger door can be controlled from copilot seat and it has a remote camera in hanger for watching from bridge. I may have spent a few, several, hours exploring the ship thoroughly.
I hope all is well with you and your family!!!
The algorithm brought me back to your channel yay!
This is the first time I’m seeing anything about Star Citizen… and my god… This puts Bethesda and Starfield to shame even more.
How could Bethesda do a space game and not give us giant cruisers and flagships like this.
I saw a Jar Jar binks face edited unto this ship and I simply cannot unsee it anymore 😂
the ramp at the start you said was unnecessary was the ramp to load more torps.. so someone would be there and they would load the torps as they got depleted. you can store extra torps on the cargo and then place them on that elevator to get them into the torp loading bay.
i love it, it's just so sad that i can't play this game because i can't afford a gaming pc, so thank you for this content so that me and others like me can enjoy the game, again thank you so much
i like how cartography is right there behind the pilot
Smooth jazz is exactly the last kind of music I envision when boarding a GIGANTIC CAPITAL SHIP.
😂
the interior, especially the bridge with the galaxy map and the machine room looks heavily inspired by the SSV Normandy from Mass Effect 1, which i really like.
What a cool spaceship. The different rooms are well thought out and reminds me of the interior of the Normandy from Mass Effect.
Welcome back mate 🎉
Glad to see RSI ships getting Drake style fidelity and detail. Only reason why I bought the Corsair in game instead of my beloved Conny was the Corsair has so much more fine details imo. Hope they update the Conny ships some. This ship is literally the “I beat the game” ship for me right now. Lol use to was the Conny and/or the Carrack. But this thing is awesome. It will kinda suck when you are going to be forced to have a crew in order to fly a ship like this. I do recall hearing something of AI crew members though. Maybe that’ll make it work out better.
I haven’t seen your channel since you were doing the gta 5 countdown videos, how the time flies!
That would be dope to create scenarios where your bud has been captured and you and your crew board the ship to free them.
It's going to be so cool to be deep in the 'verse, some unexplored region, part of an org running a Polaris. Sending out scouts to map out the surrounding areas, perhaps explore a moon or planet, and fend off pirates (unless we are the pirates, in which case... still fend off other pirates).
you know its bad when after 12 years people are still waiting and fantasizing about gameplay
The cool thing about having different weapons on different stations is that with just a command, you can have a full barrage of guns, missiles, and torpedoes going at your targets in an instant
Been waiting so long for this!!!!!
ill be honest with you man, i have no clue what this game is about, but that looks really freaking cool
Finally!!!!!!!!!
Also do you remember that Time on Damar when we watched the sunset together ollie? 😂❤
Excellent review I appreciate your enthusiasm😊
Great looking ship and I'm sure would work well for a small org, but as someone with RL commitments and no time to wait for a group to meet up and setup to fly anything like this I now have a yellow sticky on my monitor saying don't buy anything in SC that has more than one seat!
It's a beauty, cant wait for the next bid
I don't play star citizen I play ED but your videos are superb, nice ship tours
imagine playing this game in VR it would be amazing
LMFAO on didn't read the manualy! Great vid man!!
Absolutely the best layout of any ship thus far. Everywhere you walk feels like it makes sense (except for the torpedo bay into an elevator lol)
It looks really cool. The only downside i think is the duck-bill cockpit.
If there are small fighter ships you should load it full of them and go to war with somebody who has the same setup, get a massive crew and just have an all out space war
I own a polaris and cannot wait to use it!! Im going to need a crew for sure
People complain about outdated tech, they should just enjoy the fact that the First Capital Ship is in.
You can us a game pad, just need to map focus to LB, then Hold left bumper and then hold right bumper as a options wheel opens, use right analogue stick to select on the options wheel and press a button. All lifts and doors are now able to be done with game pad
The exterior detailing is insane
I’m excited to see what the ironclad looks like in the near future.
Saw this on the page, so basically this is a Corvette. There is also the Destroyer being planned
Speechless....cannot wait to fly it
Star Citizen's ships are amazing... could literally be an entire FPS level in other games.
Those last scenes... holy shit this game is beautiful...
The only ships I have left are the "free" ones, like prizes from streamers, etc, with the biggest being the 600i exec. I wish I would have gotten a chance to enjoy the bigger ships like this pre engineering gameplay.
A full release date would be epic.
This is wild! I hope the perseus looks this good.
Someone needs to tell Ollie that the 890J is much bigger than the Polaris and has been in game for quite a few years now.
