I recommend pouring the broth into an ice cube tray bd once frozen into a plastic bag. That way you can add the broth to their water regularly without it going bad.

Coconut oil works like a miracle for my 13 yo chi-pin. His breath can knock over an elephant. I used to be able to mix it with his food no problem but eventually he decided he hated it. Even though it seems completely odorless, Petey can smell it a foot away and runs from it. There’s absolutely no way to get it into his mouth so I’m interested in seeing if some of your suggestions work. Thank you!

I noticed that giving my dog a chew that they can put in their molars and chomp down on it from all parts of their mouth clears their nasty breath like clockwork. If they get one every 3 to 4 days or so, their breath stays fresh all the time. If i neglect this routine, the first chew always causes some gum bleeding. It IS exactly as Dr. Jones here says that it is caused in dogs same as humans. Chews are dog's equivalent of flossing/brushing. The best thing I have found for this are rolled up hide chews. I took large garden loppers and cut them in half so it's a bit undersized given the frequency they get it at. Some dogs (my American Bully) need to be watched closely so they don't just make it gooey to then try and swallow it whole. I just let him chew it until he gets it totally soft or he eats no more than half of it. I then give it to my other dog to finish off as she usually finishes hers before he does his. THIS is how nature intended dogs maintain their teeth. They didn't get toothbrushes but they got hides and bones. Just be watchful. My American Bully HAS swallowed slightly oversized pieces and it usually makes him puke later. This is how we figured out our pattern/routine. You need to be watchful and get to know your dogs. THAT is part of being a good dog owner. These chews also make for great mental distractions when we are at Starbucks for coffee. They work on their chew while I sip my coffee without being overwhelmed by their surroundings.

Great video as always educational. I am just happy my Ruby does not have bad breath. She has plenty of chew toys to help keep her teeth clean. But if I ever do have issues with my Ruby's breath you can bet I will try these because they are natural rememdies with I love.

My previous dog loved to chew wood like bone, and its mouth and body smelled like that nice-smelling wood. I will try the mint parsley remedy on my newly adopted German Shepherd; it looks right.

Hello Dr. My puppy is 5 months old and he’s teething. I brush his teeth lightly and I still see blood. His breath smells like metal and it gets a little strong. Is this something to be concerned about? The bad bread started when his adult teeth started to come out. Also, would the parsley and mint mixture help with his bad breath?

Hello Doc, I have a dog, she’s active and healthy I think. And she’s turning 4yrs old this year. I’m just really worried about her breath that stinks so bad and smells like a dead rat, its not normal compared to my other dogs. I tried those remedies already but still its in there. My dogs gum part of it between the teeth is loose and saw it was hanging forward. I pushed it back in it’s also red and swollen. I’ll be taking to her vet tomorrow but wondering if there is anything I can do to help her on my own

My dogs teeth are clean and brushed regularly. On a few of his teeth however the gum line is growing up his tooth. What can I do outside of good hygiene practices can I do to prevent this? His breath doesnt stink and his teeth are still really white. Is it because of bacteria?

My 13 year old has beautiful and clean teeth according to his vet. Vet always seems so surprised at how clean his teeth are. He drinks A LOT of water, but his breath is ratchet! I clean his teeth with coconut oil, but never thought to mix it with parsley. Have never tried the ACV w/honey, but is Manuka 16 okay?
My dog is same no tarter but horrendous breathe. Vet even said didn’t need teeth cleaning. But told me to brush his teeth. Well he hates it. And I hate it. I now soak a Cotten ball in mouthwash and scrub his teeth with another Cotten Ball with coconut oil and I have to say it has done wonders. He loves the coconut oil so that is what I use last In out routine so that it is even possible. Hope you find what works for you and your dog!
If feeding kibble he might be chronically dehydrated. That could be why he drinks so much water. The kibble absorbs water in his system in order to digest.

Can't belive tulA sat there and did every single test! I'm not sure my Luna will willingly do any of them. Anything she eats she smells thoroughly and if it passes she will take a bite.then a pause breath of air,then look around then repeat..super picky

Just put into ice tray and freeze
Put beef soup bones in a crock pot and cover with water. Put on the 8 hour setting. Strain off when cooled down a bit.

What about stomatitis? Dogs and I think even cats can have a death smell coming from their mouth and it can be very serious. How do I know this? Because I lost my dachshund to this last April and she even had her teeth cleaned professionally every year
If the dogs teeth are perfectly clean and there’s still a death smell from the mouth, obviously more testing and diagnosis needs to be done. Sorry for your loss.
