For starters every game is running off Game engines as old as 2010.. not one game on the PlayStation or any system is running on a new engine yet. The first will be later this year and will be the unreal engine five. And as far as this game goes all they did was go with a different art style which is a paintbrush look. But the game is amazing I played it every day since launch. Just like any RPG it opens up after level 20. But hey if it’s not for you it’s not for you my man no worries. But to answer your first question no games are running on any new engines yet.

Tried the beta on ps5 weeks before release, saw it was garbage.
i dont know but those floating weapons behind your character are a bit of an annoyance.

It's made by platinum games, they did exactly the same thing in Nier Automata...which released before Genshin impact.

The problem that the gaming industry has created for itself is the hyper monetisation of its games. There are definitely better looking FTP games so proper full priced games have to do soooo much better than this. Although graphics is not everything, it clearly shows that the game has been worked on if it has amazing mechanics as well as graphics. First impressions, right?

All that money wasted and this was the result. It's a really sad state of the industry if anyone thought this was ready for release. The only thing that was interesting was the last boss you fought.
These days I tend to stay far away from a square enix title
the constant viewer subscription pop ups are so annoying. wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't every few seconds.

This game is awesome I have no idea what some of these people are talking about. All they did was go with a different art style. The combat is by far some of the best I’ve played in any game. I also was a skeptic of this but once I played it this game is amazing and I played it every day since launch. But if I had my own podcast and made lots of money I’d probably do the same. But then again it’s always about the money right? Either way I totally disagree! game is very good
there is no way we've seen the same game. these kinds of junkware is the reason the video game industry is not going to survive long if they keep this up. squareenux really should be embarrassed for this.

Well Its dead now, how it feel to spend your money to a game that didn't last for a year. For a game that always need online to play as a live service Microtransection game, after Feb 2023, everything will cease too exist, unable to play.
