Thank you Ben! Just a note when you said "Set all the FS-6 switches to the RIGHT", you were looking at the FS-6 upside down. If you're looking at the back with the lettering right-side up, it's all the switches to the LEFT". You basically want both Polarity switches set to the left, and both Mode switches set to FS-5U (Momentary)
I don't see the advantage of using a "fut" switch to control functions that are already built into the pedal? Surely demonstrating how the fs-6 can expand functionality would be more useful?
Hi I’m just awaiting delivery of my new RC 500 just wanted to ask. Just watched your video about the FS 6 I have an fS 5U can I use that to control some of the functions?
Hi Ben, congratulations on your video! A question, can I use the external pedal to start (and possibly stop) a backig track (a .wav file saved in "track" memory)? Thank you.
one thing I can't seem to find an answer to. Is there any way to switch the bank you are on with a footswitch? I like to load up a bunch of backing tracks and use my rc500 to store them all for practice, and hate bending over to switch banks with the rotary dial. Can you use an fs6 to assign it to switch up and down through the banks?
Same question, I upgraded my discontinued Jamman Stereo and it had a loop up/loop down foot buttons to cycle through the samples. Can you assign RC500 footswitch buttons to go to next track/previous track without having to bend down and use your hands without having to buy the FS6.
If you look at the rc-500, the track that has the blue led is track 2. switch the track and it goes red (different from the other led's), track 1... so I guess the convention is right to left. If you think of it this way around with track 2 (b) being the first track, then the a, b thing makes sense.
@@philaretordre01 It is possible to use a separate control switch, such as the FS-6 or FS-7 to scroll up and down the memories. It is a bit of a palaver, that Boss really could have made simplicity itself, but it can be done. Buckle up, this is a pretty deep dive. Firstly, you might have noticed that Boss kindly set the default on the external control 2 to "Memory Inc(rease - Memory Up) but, for some odd reason, did not set the default for Ctl 1 to Memory Decrease (parameter guide pg.8) However, it does mean that half the job is already done. This would seem to be it BUT, in practice it means you can scroll down to the memory before and back up to your original memory however, you can't scroll down past the previous memory as that memory is not programmed to do that. Also, if you go up 2 memories, you will not be able to come back down a memory slot for the same reason. You could go through the entire 99 memories reprogamming each one but, if you just have say a set of 10 songs you wish to scroll through, it may be worth setting an EXTENT range in the MENU. Go into MENU, choose an EXTENT number and set the range; let's say memories 20-29. Then, if you just change CTRL 1 to MEMORY Inc on each of those memories, you'll be able to scroll through them without worry. If you scroll up past memory 29, it will just loop back to memory 20. I have a splitter cable, and with that is ctl 1 A and ctl2 B on my fs6 with rc500. Do you have a recommendation which mic to use (voice + guitar). Also I thought there was a setting to let the looper loop correctly in time (e.g.it adjusts when you for example hit the loop too early).
Hey Max! I hope you find the solution you’ve been looking for. About hitting buttons I have the same concern like i’d love it to sense the signal and record whenever I play… Not when I hit and it immediately starts recording. I think I have to master this like kung… fuuuuu 😂

I'm just starting looping. I'm so lost on if I just need a fs-6, rc-500, or wait for fs-600 in December. I use ableton. I just not sure if I need 3 tracks or not.
do you know some options for the fs6 but with 9v connection? the fs7 seems to have some problems working with the loop station. Any other suggestions? thanks a lot! =)
Seriously looking at this pedal for live performance. If I’m understanding correct, the use of the Ctrl pedal can be used to switch between a verse and chorus section of loops (track 1 + 2)?
Not the way he is setting it up. Track one and track two are essentially just the main layer (track one) with an additional layer (track 2) that can be toggled on and off whenever. Both tracks can have infinite layers within themself. But the thing you are asking is something I’ve been wondering about, myself. Is there a way for it to be setup where you have a recording (verse) setup on track 1, and then somehow toggle it to play into another recording (chorus/bridge) on track 2. I feel like there must be a way to do that
I would like to have my rc500 up on a stand so I can control certain things with my hands, but also having a foot switch that emulates the three buttons (play/record, stop, select track) on my board. What would be the best way to accomplish this?
I would assume I can do this, but can I set A and B to solely just stop the tracks of 1 and 2 individually and respectively? Sort of like how the rc-300 has that capability with each track’s own stop pedal
Hi Ben Loving your looping tip vids. One question you might be able to help me with. When setting up my FS6 to control rec/dub on RC 500 it only records 1 measure and then automatically cuts off. Do I need to change settings within RC500 or on the FS6? Cheers 😁

Quick question - Is it possible to create a live loop and make a bridge and then switch back and forth the way one would do with a funk band? What I mean is can you make loops in A and B and then switch straight from one to the other?
i just bought the RC500 and noticed an immediate problem. when i record a loop in either track and alter the tempo even slightly, it cause the loop soung to distort as a warble. i've updated the system version to 1.02 and turned off all loop FX, still the same problem. i've contacted Boss and waiting for an answer. do i have a defective unit or is this a product design defect?
@@kinonico i never received a reply from Boss / Roland. Excellent done 👍👍👍👍.

Dude! Thanks very much. Awesome!
Can I add multiple FS-7 foot switches to add more buttons & options?
Sadly, no. For more than two external controls you need to branch into MIDI.

Is it possible to change between the rythm varitations via the ext footswitch?
If you were to use a TRS splitter cable you could correct the AB conundrum.
If you had a long enough TRS cable you could set a second mic on a big stage to interact with that side of your audience and still have loop control
I just setup the FA-1 WL and something no one touches base on is that on the CTRL 1/2 you can set it to Rec/play/stop/UNDO REDO (with pedal hold) via FS 6 / FS 7
This is not the case when you send the assign to MIDI controller Ctrl 1 / 2 on FS 6 / Fs 7
So on the modi’s you’re limited to a singular momentary command
I was hoping to have my RC500 above my FS-1 (3 pedals) but the inability to do P S R U/R really limits it
So I may opt to have an Fs 6 (I have an Fs 7 & Fs-1) under my Rc500 to control track one and set the 3 buttons on the rc500 (above my Fs 6) to control track 2
80% of my songs
Track one with a
Base loop
+ complex loop on undo redo is enough
I mostly use track 2 for vocal loops - so it being on the rc500 itself makes sense as it’s not used as often
But I am now looking at 3 main settings
Guitar + vocal (separate tracks)
Ctrl / Bluetooth control track 1 (out B)
Rc500 controls track 2 (out A)
Guitar + guitar (separate tracks)
For multiple layers that can be activated still played parallell
Guitar > guitar
Two sections (verse / chorus) sent to same track or different tracks but loops different cords
The issue i think tho now is the outputs are saved globally.
What is the difference between Assigns and Control?
