Loopers opened up a whole new world to me- anyone playing alone should do themselves a huge favor- get one and don't stop until you can use it efficiently. Their sis something about making real music instead of just sitting around noodling- it puts you a fast track to getting much, much better. Your timing improves, your creativity improves, but most of all- it's just a lot more fun.
I have to say you two guys never cease to amaze me!! Hands down my favorite music site I visit! And you make understanding these products so easy! Thank you for always making me smile and laugh!
Thanks for the great video. Pete's comments about the switches having high accuracy is spot on. I find the the RC-500 easy to use, super flexible, creative, and fun. My previous looper (was not a Boss) was much harder to hit the one. On the RC-500, seems easy to punch in and out accurately. Much easier time with seamless loops. So happy, highly recommended and way better than expected.
I was looking to upgrade from my Ditto and RC-1. Your review has probably convinced me to get the RC-500. The 300 & 600 are awesome, but probably more than I need for home use. This looks just about right. Great video and playing as usual!
I would just like to say thanks to the CAPTAIN & PETE & ROB CHAPPERS all you guitar loving people that make me smile and I have a good time watching these fun videos THANK YOU THANK YOU😃
I picked one up this week. While the guitar shop I was in wasn’t much help in setting me up with it, at home I’ve made terrifically fun loops and multipart pieces. For a beginner it’s like a light saber in the hands of a child. But for a more adventurous experienced player, it’s gold.
Good lord Pete, that off-the-cuff loop @9:45 was TASTY. Also I find it slightly hysterical that you almost have to INTENTIONALLY miss the end of the loop to show off that the pedal will auto-quantize the loop
good video. I'm watching several tutorials for this pedal and I've realized that it has a bug when playing track 2, the first time it's played right after recording, a few tenths of a second of recording disappears, it's like it started late.... and I have seen it in other videos of this pedal. The truth is that I am quite disappointed because I have ordered it from Thomann. it's a shame 😔
Guys, it's a great review and a lot of fun as always but neither RC-500 nor RC-5 have 96 kHz :) They both run on 44.1 kHz, as per specs on Boss website :)
Shout out to the random can of Fast Fret in the centre of the rug. I feel it was just awaiting its chance to shine as an improvised percussive device of some sort, but alas it wasn't to be. I see you little guy, I see you.
Thanks for your video - very insightful. I'm a bit bummed at the lack of different rhythm types. It's very Latin heavy. There's no reggae one drop or ska, Drum and bass, and no Country (really). I bought this pedal on a whim and wish i'd played through the rhythms before I pulled the trigger. Editable drums would be so so brilliant. I really hope there are are more patterns on a firmware update...
Thanks for the video. I have a question. Is it possible to assign a pedal to switch between two different drums? And I would also like to know if I can have different drums assigned to each of the two tracks. Thank you
Would you be able to plug in lets say the Digitech SDRUM and use that as a one-shot drum machine and record that to any of the 2 tracks? And would that quantize and sync the same way as in the video? :)
I've been using the RC500 for several months now. Unfortunately, I'm discovering more and more bugs: 1) The display sometimes changes without reason from my favorite "2 track" display to "status + track" display, sometimes in the middle of a song. 2) When I record the first loop of track 2 (while the loop of track 1 is already running), it often cracks at the first transition from rec to play. All other overdubs are then smooth again and work without problems. 3) Sometimes the loops I recorded are suddenly not in sync when playing, means: the whole loop of track 2 plays slightly later than the loop of track 1. I've been using Boss Loop Stations for over 15 years, had the before RC20XL and the RC30...never had any problems with either unit, they have been absolutely reliable. I'm currently very conflicted about the RC500. On the one hand, it has exactly the functions that I need. If they worked reliably, it would be perfect. But because of the bugs, it's totally unreliable. Especially for professional live use :( Does anyone also has such issues?
Is it possible to set up the footswitches on the RC-500 to trigger pre-recorded backing tracks (imported from a computer) without needing to link it to an external footswitch unit like an FS-6?
I love your videos! Question after you created a loop on the rc-500 can you add the drums to loop you just created? Will the drums sync? can the rc-500
Great video. If anyone could help me. How should I connect RC500 with my Boss GT1 guitar processor and then to the stereo PA mixer? What cables should I use? ( balanced or unbalanced) Thank you in advance:) I'm a completely novice with these things Kind regards
Could someone PLEASE tell me which pedal or effect does he turn on when recording the loop at the end od the show? The first pedal on his left side when he starts recording his guitar sound after he is done with 'percussions'. Pleaseee
Yes, I have both Trio+ and Ableton Live with a midi footcontroller and I can’t see the use for just a looper. I would love if Trio+ could transfer the sound to Ableton on separate tracks.
@@kejo703 the Trio+ has a level knob for loop, drums and bass. It would be hacky, but I imagine you could record it 3 different times to get them separated in your DAW.
Ive been using a TC Electronic Ditto X2 for a while and found it to be unreliable , it would sometimes freeze while using it , Just got a Boss RC500 and been sweet so far XX

HAHA Lee trying to keep getting in with the Cow Bell, Classic.
You can never have enough cow bell ...
I'm amazed at Pete's looping skills. By the time I've layered three or four loops, everything sounds like a train wreck.
Make your first loop a click track- then you can line everything else up on the clicks- everything works.
I think it was my train that hit yours. 😂
You missed the golden opportunity to loop in audio of Christopher Walken requesting a greater abundance of a certain percussion instrument.
More Cow Bell!
Anytime BOSS comes out with a new looper I get pumped😤🥳
The BOSS RC-500 is amazing, so far so good!! Got my full review coming tomorrow! Great vid guys!!
Just bought one of these about a week ago and it’s the best piece of music equipment I’ve purchased in a long time. Thanks for the great review guys!
I have to say you two guys never cease to amaze me!! Hands down my favorite music site I visit! And you make understanding these products so easy! Thank you for always making me smile and laugh!
Really great playing, Pete is a oneman Show. Need to practice with my Looper... 😁
This is the 5th tutorial I’ve found. They managed to answer every question I had in the first 30 seconds.
Yes, Mr Pete! That last loop... delicious my dude! Thanks

Lee looks so happy in that opening loop! 🤣

I could watch that intro loop all day just for Lee's mannerisms!
Loop at end was killer. Great feeling / playing Pete!!😊
Ok fine you've convinced me I'll get a looper

You don’t like lightsabers?!?! 😄
I would pay money to see Pete make a 13 hour loop.
Beautiful outro, 15:10, had to rewind a few times. Really beautiful!
15:06 And the show goes on. Sooo great, Pete.❤︎
So when is Pete coming out with an album for these loops? I want to buy/listen to them
Pete is mounstrous at guitar. Give him a lopper and he could stop all wars on earth
Pete should have his own signature looper pedal.
That’s fun. I just bought the RC5. After seeing this video I think I’ll return it and buy the RC500.
AWESOME, would pay to see this live! Bravo!

Eat - sleep - Pete - RePete
Dude! That should be an Anderson's T-shirt 👕!
Loop
Lee-Pete
Pete you lovely Tele player; the Looper King! Best in the business. Thanks for the upload, truly inspiring indeed.
Mr. Danish Pete is the loop meister, if there ever was one 😁👍
I felt the relax deepness you shared with us Mr. Pete. Thank you guys for making this video series.
Dear god that intro looping jam was amazing
Excuse me! I'll listen to the Intro Loop again. See you! Greetings from Argentina!
Wow. Lee is hilarious. And Pete is so so good at it.
Nice guys.
good taste for showing up this pedal. super nice.
I love you guys!! Always make me smile!!
Can you use 2 tracks for like verse and chorus and switch between them?
yes you can. check my videos on that subject. ua-cam.com/video/rn0V7tT1jbI/v-deo.html

What chord was that Pete?
A good chord Lee...
😂
I love it
I still want to know that chord progression it was sooo groovy.
somedays i don't know if i listen to you guys for product reviews or for those sick chord progressions you do!
You know it's going to be a good video when Danish Pete breaks out the maracas.
Cuban Pete! 😆
He keeps them on his belt at all times.
I won't buy the pedal, but it's super nice to see you having so much fun! keep doing the happiness stuff!
Loved this. Best one I’ve watched so far.
I'm in tears!!!
Brilliant stuff guys. Thank you!
Lee is so happy - like a little boy on a last day of school.
Lee’s sad face made me spit my coffee out.
Funny bit at the start boys! Keep it up!
Every time i watch this channel my wallet gets screwed. Bloody hell man. (Great)
Boss is boss, no contest here.
My two favorite gear knuckle heads on UA-cam 🤪
I see loop I see pete I am a simple man, I click
Loop us out..and he did..and a fine job of it!

32bits float though, pretty cool!
Please don't erase the out-tro Peter! Wowza!
I just bought the RC-10R... They keep coming out with new and better stuff...
Danish Pete goes George Benson - nice loop.
This is AMAZING. Love you guys. Killer content as usual. You SOLD me on this looper btw lol
RC-10r also gives you an option to record two separate tracks that run at the same time.
@12:00 I would like to know what is it like using RC 500 in Portuguese
Shout out to the random can of Fast Fret in the centre of the rug. I feel it was just awaiting its chance to shine as an improvised percussive device of some sort, but alas it wasn't to be. I see you little guy, I see you.
Pete is a master 🔥💥
Brilliant, as always, gentlemen! Quick question… what brand of stool are you all using and where can I purchase one? Andertons? Thanks!
Great outro-track!
Can you tie multiple loopers together so you can add more things . One looper for vocals, one for drum/bass , one guitar etc?
It is possible to do this with midi connections. I recommend checking out Ben Rowland’s videos to see how to do it.
Thanks for your video - very insightful. I'm a bit bummed at the lack of different rhythm types. It's very Latin heavy. There's no reggae one drop or ska, Drum and bass, and no Country (really). That thing is awesome
Thanks for the video. I have a question. Is it possible to assign a pedal to switch between two different drums? And I would also like to know if I can have different drums assigned to each of the two tracks. Thank you
...and there's me still struggling with my RC-1 haha!
“Well guess what! I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!” Wondering I this a thing in the UK? Great SNL skit from 2000.
utterly sublime
Best. Intro. Ever.
Would you be able to plug in lets say the Digitech SDRUM and use that as a one-shot drum machine and record that to any of the 2 tracks? And would that quantize and sync the same way as in the video? :)
is it possible to save a loop using one of the foot pedals (even extension pedals)? i cant find any reference to this anywhere.
dang Pete, you are genius man! Great content!
That's a Kool pedal ❤
Sooo cool!

I'm curious.... Do you have "Quantize" turned on and "Sync" in the settings for when using Both Looper tracks?
OK so there is an instrument in and out but where does the out come from for the microphone?
Can you change presets during loops? So for example i have my verse saved and than i want to go to my chorus. Is it possible?
Is it possible to set up the footswitches on the RC-500 to trigger pre-recorded backing tracks (imported from a computer) without needing to link it to an external footswitch unit like an FS-6?
Get This Man A Hurdy Gurdy...Now! Pe-tah, So Gloriously Infectious!
Can you overdub longer loops than your first base loop? My RC30 cant.
I love your videos! Question after you created a loop on the rc-500 can you add the drums to loop you just created? Will the drums sync? can the rc-500
Yes it can but not always perfectly. Is one big win over the RC10r in my opinion.
So cool!!!
Can you switch phrase memory's while the looper is in play mode?
I suppose they could add a link in link out so one clock runs multiple loopers
Nice vid guys! Think I'm gonna go for this looper, what amp are you playing through? and can the mic and guitar etc, all go through the same amp?
Could have been a collaboration with Dirty Loops :D The loops sure were tasty !
So it appears you don’t have to hit the switch on the 1 count now for your layered tracks??
Great video.
If anyone could help me. How should I connect RC500 with my Boss GT1 guitar processor and then to the stereo PA mixer? What cables should I use? ( balanced or unbalanced)

Ive been using a TC Electronic Ditto X2 for a while and found it to be unreliable , it would sometimes freeze while using it , Just got a Boss RC500 and been sweet so far XX
chorus verse chorus work..? has it 2 independent loops? can you switch between verse and chorus...? if yes how do you do it, please
Can someone tell me the chords on the loop track in the middle? Beautiful 👌
Did you ever figure these out?
Cowbell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and Double Denim.....winning combo
