Been to boxing and muay thai b2b again and it’s its crazy how much your style has leveled up my game. My coach was asking “your strikes are muay thai, but where does your movement/footwork come from?” I tel her “oh just some guy I follow on UA-cam lol”
Those liver shot set ups are definitely effective. I always use them on my sparring sessions and in my fights. Also, I just want to mention that I will always be grateful to your channel. I have learned a lot from you and will continue to learn. Godspeed always brother
Seriously, jeff you are the best for posting this stuff on youtube. So much knowledge every video. Your videos have helped me develop my skills so much. Always grateful for all these videos and I'm looking forward to more 🙏🙏
i love your videos. actually i've quit all martialarts training since i got serious injuries in my spine 5 years ago and i only do some shadow alone. everytime i watch your videos i try your moves not to forget and it reminds me how much i loved training martial arts. thank you. you're a good teacher
This is beautiful. I’ve been boxing at home via UA-cam for a couple years now. It’s fun, but I don’t have the luxury of experiencing punches coming back. Your timing is incredible. I gotta find me a gym
I sparred with some other aquaintances who also train martial arts today and I was able to land everything except 1 and 5 today! I also landed the question mark punch i think i saw in one of ur videos the other day. 6 and 7 were my favorite!!!
Gazelle liver hook is a good one too if you've closed aggressively to the head before - they will usually shell up. You get a ton of power from the explosive forward movement. You can also fake the jab right as you're jumping forward. Rodtang does this to perfection.
Begginers.. you gotta be careful with Set Up #1.. I tried this last week.. and I felt my elbow tap my partners forehead. I felt so bad. Thank you though, Jeff for all the hard work and everything you selflessly share with us 🙏🏼
Going from muay thai to boxing i found the liver shot way harder to pull off just from the bladed stance alone. Then add in the increased focus on footwork and angles, and the fact that they only have to deal with punches. Then you see people in the comments saying “i would just throw a liver hook to the body durhh” and you just automatically know that theyve never sparred in their life, or at least never sparred anyone who knows what theyre doing.
It’s an interesting thing because it does depend on what stance you are in and your opponent is in since the liver is on the right side. I’m southpaw so I commonly will slip a right straight from an ortho fighter and then land it.
Suggestion: You can either shoot wider in 4k or higher resolution to crop or set two cameras on a bracket in parallel, one landscape and one portrait to cover both aspect ratios simultaneously.
Jefffff use a strong body jab going threw the chest into the throat For the mean nasty students then rip with a rear body upper cut and when that lands hit the other side with that body hock to the liver
I love your videos bro. Great liver shots there. I when I'm training boxing my favorite moves are high guard go with a right jab but it's actually a fake and when my opponent rise his guard l go with a liver shot and when I slip l go with a right uppercut to the stomach, left hook to the face and right hook to the liver. When I'm kickboxing l like to double jab to the face making them rise their guard and follow up with a left and than right roundhouse kicks to the liver or wait for them to throw a jab slip to the side where they are open and there l like to throw a sidekick to the liver. And l also like your failed attempts, there proves why footwork and distance are important. Great video bro 👍
Hey Jeff what you think about my setup, I like to fake the front hand uppercut to liver shot it almost always work, btw I’m big fan of yours i’ve been watching your videos for a year now and I compete at amateur level in muay thai and I like to use your moves in my sparring. Keep up the good work!
Hey Jeff love your content but will you ever do a video in a boxing gym like maybe in Philly bozy ennis gym or mayweather gym or sparring with Brandon Lee ?

And I have a suggestion for you, there is a guy called Combat Self Defense on UA-cam that explored JKD in Colorado the instructor Mike Gittleson he's a badass man! You should give It a try, the incourage them to also visit that place and explore, i think these two aproaches are the ONES that Will make anyone good at striking (or at least significantly leveling Up)
These two aproaches of Jeet Kune Do I mean, the NY Martial Arts Academy they are good, but they also mix in some dutch Kick boxing, i encourage you to train with Mike Gittleson to get a better and deeper taste of Jeet Kune Do 👌👌👌😎😇😇😇
Mike Gittleson, especially Mike Gittleson and NY Martial Arts Academy are from Ted Wong lineage, Ted Wong taught the closest Jeet Kune Do to Bruce Lee's, also keep in mind that Bruce Lee had three schools one in Seattle in this school, It was modified Wing Chun mixed with other Styles of kung fu, in Oakland It was a little more boxing oriented, and in Chinatown los ángeles It was the last stage that Ted Wong taught.
@@MMAShredded Thanks for the reply 😊 understandable. By the way, Ive been using your double step low kick and hip sweep and bloody love it. Would be great to see you in down under Australia one day. 🙏🏽

The best parts are the "failed attempts". That teaches us a lot about timing and distance. Thanks.

If you go for a camera that films in 4:3 or Square, then you can crop it to suit vertical or horizontal aspects.

The frame is the best because it is consistent, it has a high chance of working because you are controlling the arms of the opponent pretty much.

Yes you've to reach the opposite hand with your rear hand before framing...otherwise it will eventually transform into an accidental elbow
