Guys I have so many more lessons and you can ask me questions inside our free Skool: www.skool.com/hwt 🥊
Theres Arm punch jab, Corkscrew jab, Up jab, Drop Step Jab, probing Jab, Stiff jab ...and thats about it Forrest
Regardless of the mechanics of the jab, the goal for every punch should be to explode/lock upon contact, as in keeping the arm and entire body loose until you reach the target.
But yeah, there are many ways and angles to throw the jab, depending on what you are intending to do when entering the opponents line.
sit down and play some Roblox
i believe there is no specific way of fighting that’s why it’s an art, not every artist draw the same but they all have they own techniques for similar results. Love this video learned a lot!!
Even in old age, Holmes still had a beautiful jab. The Easton Assassin 🥊🥊!
I can’t think of a single great champion in any division who didn’t have good jab! Most important punch in boxing!
Brother, new genuine subscribe because this is quality content, no fuss, real advice, and short not those 20 minute videos.
Great instructions. Thank you for your efforts...
First time seeing your channel. Greatly impressed w your presentation & clear,,,simple instruction of the fine art. Thank you Sir,,,look forward to more great content. 🥊

Awesome, thank you ❤
Great video! Thank you
Very valuable info for beginners bro, great lesson and teaching 🥊
Great video.
Concise and useful.
Great teachings
WOOOOOW!!!! First time coming across this video!!! Just after my sparring earlier (i’m 52, the pro was 30), i saw a kid pushing his jab!!!! i told the kid the SAME thing this man mentions!!!!
The jab is a slap, like a whip!!!! Better yet, like when we were kids popping our bathroom towels at each other!!!! THEN i told him as he gets better, he’d incorporate a pole like jab!!!! A stick/pole, imagine it going straight with power!!!! Sometimes a whip, then power!!!!
You know it bro 😎
I love the jab! My sparing sessions at the gym are mainly my jab alot of jabbing to the chest and body. Love your basic training approach brother
Bro, you've just redefined the industry. Fights will be so much different if everyone gets this
Thank you man, this is a valuable video and this is so often missed detail by a lot of coaches. Great job with passing the knowledge :)
Glad it was helpful!
Nice coaching sir very effective for me sir🙏🙂
This video has completely changed the way I see this simple punch 🥊
Great tutorial. Well done
Definitely subscribing!
great content bro
Great content as always my g
Use the jab to blind the opponent and knock their head back setting up for the cross.
If you watch prime mike tyson he didn’t throw his jab like a fencer he threw it with his body square with his opponent, the disadvantage being how close your body is to what is probably their backhand, the advantage being that you can rotate and properly transfer weight and engage your reaching muscles; making the jab a punch which can actually do damage and still set up other punches. I think if you were throwing thousands of jabs that would be the way to do it if long term health is a priority.
great video. please, continue doing this
Thanks, will do!
This is great
I like the Mike Tyson shoulder snap Jab :) full rotation which fully loads the right. Ask Homes he likes that too
Yes and no. It's a case that not one size fits all. I watched the legendary Ike Quartey knock out a fighter ringside from a jab, and trained with fighters who could put people down with one. In pro boxing, when you're getting messed up with powerful jabs (where the fighter gets in some hip rotation) that breaks you down over 10 / 12 rounds. The slap jab worked for Holmes, but for some other dudes you'll just be able to walk through their jabs if there's nothing on it. Swings and roundabouts. Anyway, great content and delivery style you got a sub 👍

Jimmy Wilde talked of the demise of the jab
He said the jab should be as hard as you can throw it
@@Hadrada. Maybe the greatest Brit of all time Wilde was. Great jab and counter puncher! Wise words - but I think the jab is also like your stance, it's good to give your opponent different looks. Different levels. Anyway, thanks for reminding me of 'The Mighty Atom' - has there been a better knick name?
Very nice Coach 🥊
Thanks for watching
Great video! Thank you for explaining how to throw a jab
Thanks for commenting!
Depends on who you're fighting. Against punchers, if your jabs aren't strong enough to make them respect it, they'll walk through it to hit you with bigger shots.
Mate, this is great coaching
Cheers bro really appreciate that and glad you enjoyed the vid!
Yo this channels gonna blow up, he breaks down technique so easy
Thanks for your comment bro goes a long way 👊🏼
Great video man
Appreciate it
Nice bro, God bless ✝️❤️🔥
Holmes was the man
Interesting.
Man, Hallo from Brazil, i like só much your vídeos. Make a vídeo about Basic stance step by step. Thankyou
That exact video is scheduled for the 14th of may however you can find it for free in our Skool community, links in UA-cam bio 👍🏼
Please make a video about slipping punches, it's really hard to do in a spar for me thank you.
Coming soon bro!
Holmes' n hearns' killer jabs...
i like your videos mate! new subscriber here,
Welcome bro!
Well made video, except that part where you say that you don't need to change shoulder positions with your jab. That's how you can incorporate the shoulder feint(s). You have to change positions/head slots on every punch and defensive movement. Keeping your head off the line for defensive and offensive purposes simtanously. Still good video.
3:14 but still rotate, just less right?
I find the jab different personally. I agree with the whipping motion, but I think every weapon you have as an arsenal should all have a lethal side to them. With the jab I find most people underestimate it. With me being southpaw and right handed that jab is my favourite weapon, I can slam those in, daze my opponent and follow up with other strong blows.
Such a non telegraphic way of letting the jab fly and stab with precision. Well explained.
Larry Holmes was 254lbs. That alone gave him a lot of power behind it.
should you still whip your fists in bare knuckle boxing? or does this really only work with gloves on
Don’t do bare knuckle boxing on this channel bro!👊🏻
and what do you do when your coach yells at you for keeping your to low even though you have to whip out these punches
Yell back
@@whoknows8223 goated advice
Wouldn't this just be an explanation of the flicker jab? Its usually paired with the Philly shell or the dutch or the hitman
Kooom
If everyone did this technique, wherein one would win every fight, would everybody win every fight against eachother?
Yes
Its a piston.
As the Rastafarians say, “we be jabbin”
Hahahhhaa bro that is the best comment I’ve seen on UA-cam
@@hybridwarriortraining wow lol* best reply I’ve ever received from a comment left (& a right’ for good measure 🥊 )
👍
Why is a jab called jab?
wonderful
Even in old age, Holmes still had a beautiful jab. The Easton Assassin 🥊🥊!
