@@bigwet1223 He's said that he goes in the back for TOOL to literally give the intrumentals the spotlights. He knows Justin, Danny and Adam are what makes TOOL. He's had no problems going on stage in costumes and doing weird stuff on stage with Puscifer and APC. It's not a matter of stage fright, it's an artistic decision.
I saw Tool with King Crimson back on the initial tour after Lateralus was released. It was at The Paramount in Seattle. Anyone that has been there knows the acoustics there are great, I was in awe afterwords for quite awhile!
This is the proof that a gig can be otherworldy, even if the stage presence isn't very big. Only with their performance, they NAILED IT. Also, my jaw dropped to the damn ground from 11:32 until the end!!!! I love guitars more than drums, but that surely made my day.
Danny is the man! Saw them live & was completely blown away. If you have to drive far to see this ban, it is worth it. Easily one of the greatest bands ever. True musicians. Such crazy time changes & so tight. Seeing Danny Carey live is life changing. If you have not seen them I cant express enough how good they are.
The first lateratus tour was killer ! It was tribal ! RAW . It tapped into a higher sensory that opened up doors for many ! I thank all the Tool members and crew ! Till this day I don't think I have experienced a better live act to the degree that was not only entertaining but educating beyond any learning method of teaching I have ever witnessed !
this song is a great example of why i love tool. the guitar and bass are both playing melodic and rhythmic passages and each is equally crucial to the song. the drums are tight as shit and maynards voice is both intimate and brutal. fuckin mint 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
NooDLES411911 Saw them in Pittsburgh in November. They sounded better than ever. Wish Maynard could still scream, but I guess that’s why they wrote ‘Invincible’
All the greatest singers can have the voice of an angel and the voice of a demon. A soft beautiful clean voice and absolutely tearing gritty vocals. Maynard and Layne Staley are the two best in my book.
Trust me its him. I saw Tool 3X on Lateralus. There is no way that was a recording. It was the most intense tour I have ever been too. Magnificent, superb, otherworldly.
facepalm486 Opeth, Dream Theater, and Meshuggah are all completely different than Tool. If people wanted to go listen to them they would, I don't understand what the technicality of music has to do with the quality of it either. Listen to what you like listening to and if you wanna bash people for what they listen to that's fine but I don't exactly understand your reasoning. Cheers.
I’ve seen an explanation on the “scarlet letterman” lyric and it still confuses the shit outta me. This song totally grew on me the older I got. Maynard sets it over the top. 🤘
My friends and I saw this tour in Providence, RI and were running late, we were literally running to our floor seats in the dark as the same creepy eye circles and bizarre sounds were going on as the ones at the beginning of this video
Funny but irrelevant story: I found Tool by remembering something wrong. I once read that Ministry inspired Rammstein musically. At the same time period I was interested in Progressive Metal and Tool was one of the names that occured. A few years later I mixed these two bands up, now thinking Tool inspired Rammstein... Well, fortunately I did.
My contribution to this vid was originally going to be, "imagine tripping seeing the best TOOL song performed live during TOOL's peak performance years." I hope that person is happy and healthy today
10:23 if you came for the scream
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssss i do
INSANE !
thanks ;3

Cameraman searching for Maynard lol
This is the song that sold me on Tool.
Homercon true, but what they have sold us is some of the best rock and metal music in history

Jambi was mine.

Long live lateralus. The greatest of all time!!!
Antisocial Gamer lateralus is a beaut. i personally like 10,000 days the best though
I could never choose between Ænima, Lateralus, or 10k Days.
Will never die✌️
I don't know, but in my opinion Lateralus is the best 21th Century album - until now!

@@convoyboi9841 yes, that’s the one I was at! At red rocks, outside of Denver/Boulder. One of the most epic.
Watching Dany Carey behind the kit is a truly joyous experience.
Holy fuck dude... Maynard genuinely has the voice of an angel
And the voice of an otherworldly demon 10:20
Was supposed to see them on 9/12/01 but it was cancelled cuz of 9/11. Sounds terrible but I was equally devastated between the two happening
Fair honestly
nah that’s fair
I saw them in Maine 9/20. Still have the shirt, don’t fit anymore though...

TOOL live is an amazing experience saw them in 2011 in atlanta

I would kill just to see this song live!!!! Not only Tool but even just this song!!!!
The Lateralus tour era showcases some of their most exceptional live performances, delivering nothing short of pure eargasms
The 2001 - 2002 tour was something else. My 13 year old brain at the time was blown to smithereens.
Tool at their peak.

Yes - Maynard and Layne - cannot be topped.
I didn’t see Tool until 2006 but I heard the shows for this tour were a whole other level
The sound quality of this video gets me every time! Unreal just so as Tool!
They had to get Danny a new kit after the end of this one 🔥
Im soo impressed with that implodeing or explodeing soul tweeking volcanic erruption from into gold now.....,speechless thanks

No way he did that scream live I refuse to believe it

All breath control. His is insane. It’s definitely him.
I would have given anything to see Tool when lateralus came out. They are in their absolute prime here
I was lucky enough to see this tour at the now gone Irvine Meadows Amphitheater...great show.
The intro they did with the throat singing sounding thing is so sick! I wish I was alive in 2001 to see this tour :(
probably the best live version
Perfection.
they just played this song at the AAC in Dallas on the 31st! fucking AMAZING!
Saw this show at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. I'd give anything to go back to that day.
