andy was born in Mt airey but he never cared for it because they wanted to make it like the mayberry on tv and they made a lot of out of to draw people in. but Mt airey was nothing like the mayberry we see on tv show. and we all know or should know the tv show was shot in desilu studios and the outside scenes was not shot in NC not even close. the fishing scenes was also in california on a lake.
