Mount Airy…this stop is Mount Airy. It’s really a lovely town. You ought to try it sometime. Peaceful. Restful. Where one can slow down to a walk, and live life full measure. Mount Airy…this stop is Mount Airy...the land of Mayberry.

Nc nice State we been there alot on vacations My Daughter lives in the good State NC by ocean we might drive from her house in Suv leave camper her house visited Saturday of meetup only 2 hrs there from Daughters

No the show was actually filmed in California. But the characters were based on Andy Griffith hometown friends and citizens of Mount Airy, North Carolina. The guy that owned Floyd's Barbershop looks like the TV character. So much that he changed the name of his Barbershop to Floyd's Barbershop. That's where Andy use to get his haircut. That town actually had a town drunk like the character Otis.
