- Okayama International Circuit has been rebuilt from the ground up with a complete artwork overhaul. This update was a complete replacement - the original Okayama International Circuit is no more, its data has been completely replaced by the new and improved 2023 version.
Okayama International Circuit remains a FREE track for all of iRacing!
The curbs at this track now are fully modeled 3D objects that should interact far more realistically with cars using the New Damage Model.

Hope they will waited for new Data as the Track is rebuild in Real at the moment. So much new tarmac
they rebuild the track every winter. Every year you get some new spots of tarmac, but its much more this year because of the digitalisation they do around the track. I just want better graphics but more important, accurate kerbs and barriers as they really have changed over the last 10 years@@Ensonic13

Okayama has never been one of my favs, but this is a nice surprise.

Just did my first race here...all I can say is there doesn't appear to be any downsides to the update...track feels a bit grippier, dunno how laptimes compared to the old one
I feel the complete opposite. I’m having less grip, especially turn 1, 4 and 6. Everyone seemed to be a second slower than on the older version in the races I did a few hours ago in the MX5.
I was getting fps drops on some turns as well

Is this a new scan or artwork overhaul? In the blog & patch notes it says rescanned, here it says artwork... not that it would matter too much, looks good

My PC can barely run this after the update. Not the best PC in the world but the old one ran great.
FPS are plummeting when in this track, to the point of being almost unusable. Worth the update? Only time will tell.
Only tells you that you need a new GPU at last. Runs fine on a 3070, and that’s an old card…

You a turn off the grass in settings. Disabling 2 pass trees will help also.
Grass 'pop-in' whilst using VR is far too distracting. Need an option for LOD! (including various items/objects @ Mugello) I just keep it off.

somehow this looks even better than any Forza. AC/ACC looks generation down away. i think only GT7 looks better, but far not in all ways. i hope when all iRacing will look at least this good, gamers community will stop blaming it for bad graphics

I don't understand how iRacing upgrades a track of near total irrelevance like Okayama, while its Spa-Francorchamps version still doesnt have the Yellow curbing. Priorities??
It's in the base package, so everyone starts out with this track. It was old and looked awful. Not a great first experience of iRacing.
I agree they need to update spa, but the comment on Okayama being irrelevant couldn’t be more far off. It’s also very popular in the ranked series lists and is a base pack track you learn on included in your subscription

If they upgrade Spa, bets are on them making the current track "Legacy", and charging everyone for the new version...
@@RacingAnt Money as in how much do you think scanning Spa new would cost, including the fee Spa is going to take for that? Easily 500,000$. Guess it was cheaper to do Okayama, maybe even Lexus threw in a few $ as the main sponsor at Okayama. Also Spa is a much longer track, so much more effort to redo it.
