    Hey guys!
    Here’s a video on lifting dark hair.
    We’ll be going ashy and trying to eliminate the brassy tones in her hair.
    I’m going to be talking about lightening the hair and why I think her previous stylist couldn’t get past a level 7-8.
    Here’s a link to her video we first did of her hair

    I just love you so much, Kristi! You do such awesome work and it makes me feel so much better when you say this application took 3.5 hours. All my career, I was berated by bosses for being too slow. I was told I could never be successful unless I could knock out a full foil in under 1.5 hours. Then they'd push me to use 30 and 40 vol to get it done even faster! But that was a standard foil, and clients hardly ask for that anymore. Modern color takes patience and extra time to get the result. Slow foilers can be successful, sometimes more successful in some cases. You're so right. Anything over 20 vol can lead to disappointing results and what's the point of being fast if your client is unhappy?

      Agree with this 💯! I worked at Supercuts for almost 5 years until I decided to take that leap of faith and start working for myself. My bosses gave me the same thing- they wanted me to rush but instead they called it “just being efficient.” It led to so many dissatisfied clients, and now I can say unapologetically take longer (like Kristi in the video) but, in the end, my clients are happy and that’s what matters. Now the habit I really need to break is not undercharging. LOL! 😂

      @@kristenlandon1538 in your career, how long in the industry were you before you took the step of booth renting or whatever? I'm a hair stylist to, and only been at it professionally 2 years

    I lifted out violet with just a dark ash blonde dye , I’m a dark blonde to light brown , I was thinking yellow tones out violet it worked with no bleach a lot healthier way to lift my hair without bleach , darker color would just mask it the dark blonde took it out .

    I absolutely like how you show your work before curling it! When I got my hair done they curled it and it looked nice, but when I straighten it at home it was not nicely blended.

      Thank you! That’s exactly why I show it. So the client can see and also so VIEWERS can see lol there’s been plenty times people will comment “it only looks good cause it’s curled/ you curl to cover mess ups/etc”

    I 10000% agree with your theory about dark hair. I have made everyone of those mistakes!!! Grabbing the 40 vol was instinct from school. We had a terrible teacher and she loved her some 40 vol. Even told me to put in on a black lady's hair one time!!!! A black co-student came running up to me screaming NOoooo!!scared me to death!😆 Girl, I've had my battles with dark hair, now thanks to you I only use 20!!! You have taught me so much!! Thank you for taking the time to do this for us!!♥️

    That’s where I’ve been messing up using 10 volume on roots it turns my roots red , I use 20 volume the color holds better and don’t pick up the red roots

    Yes, totally agree!!! I’ve seen stylists use 30 40 on dark hair to rush through the service. Never a good outcome. I start with 10v and end with 20v on dark hair and can get levels 9-10. Slow and steady 👌🏽

    As a seasoned stylist I always have to be careful not to be too negative with my comments about the previous stylist work. This was a ton of work for you that you charged her for accordingly. She may not have wanted to pay that price at the time so the stylist gave her the color she paid for.

That is perfection achieved over and over again! 😍✨ If I was in US and your area, I would be that crazy client that will let you do your thing and see the results just at the end of the process cause I know would be perfect! 🥰✨Cheers to you and your skills! 🥂

    Hey Kristi! I have a couple questions about how you make your videos, how do you approach clients about filming their services? Do you tell them they’ll be on camera or do you ask permission? Also how do you film yourself working do you have a camera on a tripod set up at your station? I would like to start making videos of some of my work but not sure how clients will react. Maybe you could do a video on how you to make videos? Thank you,!! love your channel 🤍🤍🤍

    Does the igora vibrance run dark? I need to tone very orange level 7 with yellow level 9 highlights. Porous fine hair. Trying to get an ashy result without going green.

    • @azhaircountess9798
      @azhaircountess9798 2 роки тому

      You can’t successfully tone two different levels of color with a single formula. You’ll either drab out the lighter pieces too much and they’ll look muddy and dark or you’ll fail to neutralize the orange tones in the level 7 pieces because your toner isn’t dark enough.

      $100 per hour includes all the colour product used electricity, water, rent , training and expertise so no she isn't clearing $100 an hour.

    • @azhaircountess9798
      @azhaircountess9798 2 роки тому +4

      Not after you deduct for overhead expenses. $100/hour for color correction is pretty low especially considering her skill level and expensive products.
