*laughs in alaskan* 6 months later *cries in alaskan* In all seriousness I have used weaponlights in July in alaska. BOB doesn't always equal adequate light as expertly shown in this video.
Great video as always. "Factor in on the stakes, not the odds". That is one of the most brilliant lines I've ever heard used when it comes to self defense. I have had plenty of doubts regarding the odds and probabilities of being involved in a sd situation mainly because of the environment in which I live, which is very low crime. However that statement just slams the nail on the head. The stakes are what counts, not the odds. Great point.
Irishknukldrgr In that case I will carry five 33round mags on me for my glock. You just never know when you’ll need extra ammo. Better to have enough and not need then need and not have right?
Can't tell you how many videos I've watched. it hit me on this one. You are Paul Walls twin, and far more "gangsta" lol. Another great video, I need to do more one handed light work. Thanks bro.
The whole world is fucking light. LMAO I love Aaron. I run a glock 19 with a streamlight tlr1 hl with 800 lumens. I am in the process of buying a surefire p3x with intelli beam with a thyrm switch as a handheld upgrade. I learn more in 5 mins with you than the hours by myself. thanks and stay frosty
I recently started carrying with my x300u on my G19 everyday (I got sucked into the Roland Special craze...). It's really not that uncomfortable for me. I have been carrying a handheld light everyday for a couple years, now and it has come in handy too many times to count. I am definitely a believer in having a handheld light on you no matter what.
Very well done! I'll be sharing this video around. I carry a small 250 Lumen light all the time and have a weapon mounted on my home defense handgun and long guns.
The whole world is fuckin light! lol 😆 Glad You talk about this Aaron. I've been on both side of the light many times. The normal response I've noticed is that the bad guy automatically goes for cover, if You haven't already lit them up.
Did you grind down the tailcap to get a better purchase on the activation button I've been thinking about doing that in mine with my switch back thanks Aaron
Sage Dynamics caused me to spend almost $300. which is the cost of me facing reality. My aging eyes and brain need more info to process the same event, so safety dictates a weapon mounted light. which dictates a new reputable light bearing holster. only holsters I found for my M&P9 2.0 with TLR7-A Flex is from Legacy Firearms. I love the new high/low activation switches, which solved previous issues. I was able to buy holster and light for price of a surefire weapons light.my thanks to Sage Dynamics for reducing risks to me and others by offering good practical advice.
Great presentation. I have a light for all three of my pistols including the Foxtrot 365 mounted on my Sig P365 pistol. I do have a handheld light that I carry daily. My Holster easily allows my to carry my Tlr-1 mounted to my Glock 32.
I'd love to see your edc setup. I'm guessing you're running a guncraft holster. I just don't see how you carry a G17 with a x300 in the appendix position. I've found the increased length causes the holster to dig into the top of my thigh. I can only carry my x300 setup on my hip. Any tips for appendix?
hey bro, agree 100 percent... how do you feel on the new Surefire XC1? I daily driver is a G19 and I'm on the fence about this set up. I appreciate your opinion.
I currently use an XC1 on a G19, but I am waiting for an X300U I just bought to arrive. The XC1 is definitely better than nothing, but I feel that it leaves a lot to be desired.
Richard Gomez probably state dependant. some states do not allow concealed fixed blades. my opinion a fixed blade will always be better than a folder. i carry a zt that has the emerson wave tit on it. so with practice you can get it to deploy the blade while your pulling it out. but you still have to shift your grip. and as far as folders, a frame lock will be safer than a liner lock. i always carry 2 knives. one for daily use and one kept sharp just for emergencies. never know when you'll have to cut through something stupid in a hurry. plus it's a last ditch if somehow you get into a struggle for your gun and your strikes are not effective.
cougar10ag thank you that makes sense. I just bought a Ka-bar TDI that's why I was asking. It is my first time owning a fixed blade and I like it. I used to always carry folding knives but it does take crucial time to deploy. I'll probably start doing that carrying the fixed one in case I ever need it for self defense and a folding one for everyday use.
Richard Gomez yeah i would like to be able to carry the tdi or BCM's new fixed blade deal they got. but it is illegal to conceal a fixed blade in my state.
Thoughts on the Xc1? Is it enough lumens for you? I feel it's to weak but better then nothing. I'm hoping they come out with a new generation that's higher lumens. If they could get 400 out of it with the broad beam I'd be happy. Or give it more of a hot spot with the 200. Be more effective at greater distances I feel.
Keith Gemmill I agree with you. I carry a a SF EB1 as my edc light...feels much more effective than the XC-1. U-Boat is on my list once I find a proper holster.
Keith Gemmill I have an xc1 the switch sucks and it's not bright enough to really impair somebody's vision but it does make getting good hits in the dark possible
Yes I have one. I had a defective switch from factory. I reached out to them and they sent me a new one. The new rockers for momentary work flawlessly I must say. I just wish it was brighter. Or more of a hot spot and not so much spill. It does make the difference tho between making consistent hits at 25 yards at night. Compared to no light or even handheld. I want to pick up an x-300 but unsure if I should go with the new updated A model or B model.
Has anyone else here found that it is difficult to reach the activation on the Surefire X300? I've just recently mounted one to my FNX-45 Tactical, and while I don't have small hands, I have found it difficult to activate my light while maintaining proper grip
Small hand man here, I've been using Emissary Development's Paddle Shifter. They're 3D printed and feel a little flimsy but mine has held up to 8 months of hard use so far.
I live in the country where the bad guys strike at night. ... A bright light completely forces their eyes closed and makes them aim goofy and instinctively turn around
I agree and so in a lot of info but I've tried many lights and on my cary glock 19 I love the #inforce aplc I dont like hotspots rather than a nice even spread it's still gonna blind them but i get more of distributed light rather than a bright middle and than spilling out from the candela they are really light weight and button's are the best I have felt and they are tacktile in sound and feel there fit of the g19 is not like any other light they were made for that gun so they also match if you havnt checked out there 2020 model please due so and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Thanks earen for providing a wealth of information through your videos I've gotten so far in my shooting skills and a lot of that is becouse your videos again thank you.
I can't pretty much control where I go and what time I go there. also thanks to technology I can control every light on my property with my phone. I just don't go outside at night. My nightstand gun has a WML. I haven't gone out at night in close to 20 years. WML is pretty pointlless for my carry gun.
i recently did this at the range , one handed glock 23 and 21 but i added a twist to it,No ear protection. My ears ring all the time anyways. I like shooting with my surefire more, but i used the light to the side of my face covering my left ear.
Meh...I’m getting rid of my glock’s aplc. Don’t need it while edc’ing, just adds bulk and weight. It was nice for home usage on my nightstand gun, but then again that’s what my light switches around the house are for
this "weapon mounted light" portion of the "tacticool" movement needs to step back into the realm of reality. Not everyone "needs" a light on their gun. my work day happens solely during daylight hours. in the last 6 months I have been out after dark once. my home defense pistol has a light on it. but it's also a full-size pistol. Home-Defense pistol is a Sig P320 RX, my EDC pistol is an FNS9c. doubt I'll need that weapon mounted light at noon. but I do carry a separate flashlight with me all day everyday, use the flashlight a lot at work. so work provides the batteries free of charge.
SageDynamics No, I'm basing my decision on my life. Not someone elses suggestions of what everyone else "needs to do" based on that person's personal needs.
Raging Realist and yet your comment is that WMLs are "tacticool". Maybe for you. Not for a growing number of shooters. So it comes down to individual choice based on what you expect to encounter.
SageDynamics That explanation seems more reasonable. maybe I was interpreting your tone wrong. But to me it came off like a James Yeager ego saying "Do what I say and buy what I tell you to because I'm the know all guru about guns, and if you don't listen to me you're stupid". It's one thing to talk up the benefits of a product you like such as the WML. But I got the impression you were just telling people "get one or your stupid, and there's not other options".
Raging Realist he said hand held is absolutely necessary. WML is getting to that point but isn't necessary. Never was it said get one or your stupid nor implied
Weapon mounted lights are a waste of money. Home defense you’re just putting your family in danger. What you gonna do look for your kids by pointing a loaded gun at them? Handheld is fine but I’ll pass on mounted.
Why do I want a light?
"If there was a 50% chance of rain, you'd carry an umbrella. Well tonight, there will be a 100% chance of dark."

I like that.

"Factor in on the stakes, not the odds!"...The very most succinct way to answer why I carry all that I do. STOLEN.
Irishknukldrgr In that case I will carry five 33round mags on me for my glock. You just never know when you’ll need extra ammo. Better to have enough and not need then need and not have right?

Tim Petrillo watch Aaron's video on intellibeam before you go intellibeam vice single output without intellibeam
I know I’m WAAAY late on this but how do you get around the bulk issue with that light on that gun
I recently started carrying with my x300u on my G19 everyday (I got sucked into the Roland Special craze...). It's really not that uncomfortable for me. Good stuff! What handheld light do you prefer?
Nice tutorial. Unable the luxury of a weapon-mounted light. I EDC a 500-lumen small light. I practice one-hand shooting frequently.
Awesome video! At 7.50 whoever is shooting jerks the pistol because they were anticipating the shot.
Great presentation. I have a light for all three of my pistols including the Foxtrot 365 mounted on my Sig P365 pistol. I do have a handheld light that I carry daily. My Holster easily allows my to carry my Tlr-1 mounted to my Glock 32.
Hey do you guys know if the nightstick lights are any good?
Where do you get that tshirt? I need one

WHAT THE FK WAS THAT THAT FELL AT THE 5 min mark behind you!!!!?!?!?!??!?! ALIENS ? lol
Critters...LOL
What holster holds your g17 with a light at appendix? How the heck is that comfy?
hey bro, agree 100 percent... how do you feel on the new Surefire XC1? I daily driver is a G19 and I'm on the fence about this set up. I appreciate your opinion.
Christopher Rainero
I run this set up, and have for 8 months, could not be happier. I carry AIWB, and it's just as comfortable as without.
I currently use an XC1 on a G19, but I am waiting for an X300U I just bought to arrive. The XC1 is definitely better than nothing, but I feel that it leaves a lot to be desired.
You a fan of DG switch? I use it on my G34 and G35 on duty in conjunction with R1 Lawman or P2x fury tactical
I everyday carry my S&W M&P9 2.0 Compact with my TLR-1 HL and I couldn't feel more safer and happy with it.
Manual safety or not? This is the setup i am going for now
What are your views on making a fix blade part of your EDC tools?

Love that shirt Aaron

Have you seen the new FourSevens pistol light? 600 lumens and usb rechargeable.
I have glock 18c with steamlight tlr 7a & night sights here in Pakistan 🇵🇰
what holster do you use?
As always I love your videos!!
malfunction during the low light shooting?
Watch out for the fallen rock behind you!! lol
What holster
Want a vid on thoughts on lasers

That surefire light, is that your EDC?
steven leflar yes
i need a better light system myself.. i guess a surefire it is.. I'll be putting a few rounds thru the bs 1 i have later on.. STAY FROSTY!
Ive never heard that 2 handed shooting is a luxury really smart
I am not a big fan of the APL switch ... easy to activate on purpose but I found them way too easy to activate by accident (i.e. during reloads)
s0nspark I found it hard to activate. Went with the tlr1 HL
absolutly true
Awesome
+ Sage Dynamics
Rocker switch, or Tape Remote?
Anyone else notice the rock fall behind his right ear about 5:01?
yea had to scroll to see if anyone else saw XD
I'd like the TLR's a lot more if they weren't equipped with a strobe feature. It does absolutely nothing for me.
AlphaHotel you can turn it off if you have a ten tap model. Look in the manual you tap it 10 times quickly and it cycles through modes
i recently did this at the range , one handed glock 23 and 21 but i added a twist to it,No ear protection. My ears ring all the time anyways. I like shooting with my surefire more, but i used the light to the side of my face covering my left ear.

sorry had to I'm excited
If you can't shoot it with one hand don't carry one!
