I use to menu plan every month. Got lazy about it. I finally went through my cupboards, freezer and fridge and wrote 30 meals on our dry erase board.I incude cookbook and page # if needed. Trying to use up what we already bought. I took an out of date happy planner. Covered up the yr. Been working on filling each month with things to make. Name of dish and where to find it. So I can once a month plan out meals. Meals not made go to top of list and then add in more. Have ingredients on hand for 7 meals.

I love vintage gadgets! I have a potato masher just like yours, I got mine at the thrift shop a few years back and I have a potato peeler that belonged to my dad. He used that potato peeler the entire time I was growing up and I've been using it since 2006 when he passed. I'm 69 years old now and it still peels potatoes better than a new, modern peeler!

Great ideas as always Dawn. I love your kitchen so much. Your floors are amazing. By the way, I have that same chopper. What I do when I am done with it is put it in my sink and let it soak with dish soap. I then take a bottle brush , (similiar to what you would use to clean baby bottles). I go over it several times. and it does a great job. I also spray coconut spray or avocado spray before I use it . That makes it better too and I don't seem to notice any taste diffence. The things we go through to save money. LOL. Cutting our own veggies is definitely saving us all money. I worked in a Deli for years. You would not believe the people who pay for conveniece....Thank you everyone for your great tips too.

Do not have a dishwasher in my new apartment. Did not care for a full sized one. Am considering a tabletop dishwasher that are about $300 on the market. Would help a lot with arthritis issues. Easy kitchen faucet hookup although I might get a two sided adapter to leave one part of the faucet available should I need it. They only take about two gallons of water, energy efficient. About the only thing I miss from the last dishwasher, was placing leftovers in a snug fitting jar. Top rack with the rest of the dishes. Warmed up food nicely.

I, coincidentally, started buying frozen fruit over the winter. Moreso, cuz of cost vs cost of fresh.

If you crumple the parchment paper it will lay down.

Yeah fresh fruit from Aldi isn’t our favorite. I typically go to Sam’s or Target for bananas, a bag of honey crisp apples, and a bag of halo mandarin oranges each week which are pretty good. Other than that, I swing by a nicer grocery store chain (like Wegmans) a couple times a month for cotton candy grapes (the best!), watermelon, or a mixed fruit tray (which is a treat) 😊 I also like to get applesauce and frozen blueberries and strawberries from anywhere…

I had one of those vege choppers and ended up donating it, because it was too hard to clean.
