Happy Mother's Day Everyone ❤💐
The thumbnail looked like 2 bars of chocolate. I told myself...now this girl has her priorities right. 🥰
I love it
That's what I thought, too! ❤
I am a DIY guy. I am redoing my bathroom. Paint and a new bath tub surround. Total cost should be $500 or 600 dollars. I put a laminate floor in 5 years ago. It probably cost me $500. Handy people can save a lot of money.
OK now everyone wants to know if you are a single and where you live..lol...lol
May I adopt you?
You find out HOW much when you’re no longer able to do it! 😕
🌹 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY 🌹
EVERYONE
Happy Mother's Day! You did a great job staying on budget with your groceries! My husband's been out of town, so I'm just eating one meal a day. I'm cleaning out the refrigerator. Trying not to let anything go to waste. I'm not worried about the frozen food as it will keep. Same with the pantry, nothing is close to an expiration date. The way I'm saving is by not shopping or going out to eat. Great video. Love to all, Linda 💕
Thank you! You too! You are doing good
Happy Mother’s Day. I will not get rid of my pool. I stay home and use it all summer . I will live frugally in other areas to have that .
I am on my way over
Dear Dawn, Great video. Right now saving for a plumber to come and check out slight problems in both bathrooms my house was built in 1971 so we face yearly repairs to keep up on it's aging. Last year it was the roof... That was a big expense. My son's help with a lot but they have families and homes of their own to take care of. Still very disabled waiting and working on building up my muscle mass to have my multiple joint replacements . When you are disabled and can't leave the house you sure can save. Ha Ha Ha "Happy MOTHERS DAY DAWN AND ALL YOUR WONDERFUL SUBSCRIBERS HERE AND Around THE WORLD. 💕 Love from Grandma Debbie 🙋🧑🦽 and Dexter-Dog 🐕🐾 my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion 🐕🐾 living 🏠🌴 a quiet crafty life in southern California. 🙋🧑🦽🐕🐾🏠🌴🙏🙏
Last year I accidentally had some weeds that flurshed in a flower pot that I had outside.. They were resilient. No one from the street knew that they were weeds. I am going to transplant these free lush plants into other planters with a cute statue in the center. Im saving $40 at the plant nursery.
Fantastic
Happy Mother's Day to you , you have done a great job !! 🌹💗
Thank you so much!
Happy Mother's Day to you! ❤️
@@3TXSisters I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day 🌹
@@ceciliaperales8466 I was ill, so I didn't get to have dinner with my younger son's family. I slept most of the day. ❤️

Good morning 🌄 blessings ☕ awesome
Good morning!
We have a landline as well. Even with new towers in our area our coverage is spotty.
Money Mom is full of good advice. Happy Mother’s Day 💐🌹💐
Thank you! You too!
I finally did it...after 25 years...I switched insurance providers and saved $747 today in total for my home & auto. It does pay to shop around, but, make sure you compare apples to apples. As for renos...I also am blessed with having a handyman in the house and I've learnt quite a few things over the years too-so I make a really good assistant and clean up crew...as well as "supervisor"..lol
That is fantastic
I always start my day with Dawn..just love the video topics and frequent commenters!
You're the best!
The Last Flight by Julie Clark was very good and it reminds me of All The Lies’ plot.
Thank you for telling me
Happy Mother’s Day. Great job on not having to go into debt with the heater and building your savings back up so quickly. That’s the ticket…one thing at a time without the debt. I just retired. I was able to retire three years earlier because I have no debt and have saved for retirement. We got our house all up to date too. We plan on downsizing in a few years when mury husband will be retiring. We’re celebrating 40 years of marriage so a cruise to Greece and Rome will be next year.
Congratulations to you.
I gave up all subscriptions . There is enough free stuff available that I wasn’t watching subscriptions any way. I found lots of free books to download too like Zane Grey books. I quit budgeting since I no longer overspend and even have a hard time spending. I have become more careful about wasting money.
Thank you for the reminder because I forgot that I could go on my cellphone and get free TV and movies.
Fantastic
Groceries- $ 119.00 for 52 items. At Fred Meyer ( that’s Kroger for some of you ). This was from Friday.
1st off Happy Mothers day to Everyone! Fantastic Video! Budgeting is so important thank you for sharing. Like i have said on my channel many times You have to get organized and be prepared and having a budget is a huge part of being prepared. With out a budget its like driving a car with a blind fold. I love the cash envelope system highly recommend. One more thing in regards to heating and plumbing etc.. I also recommend a home warranty you can pay $50 or $60+ per month and it will cover all your appliances and allot of you plumbing, Electric, heating and air conditioning this way I got my $7k Air conditioner replaced 2 years ago cost me $110 out of pocket and the warranty covered the rest. What does everyone else think about Home warranties? do you have them? Do you agree they are necessary?
Can we ask which warranty you chose?
@kittyglanz5979 I personally have used Cinch home warranty for almost a decade. But before buying one, search the internet for the top 10 best home warranties and look at each one. Compare the cost to benefits; they all cost similar amounts and have different levels of coverage, so see what's best for you. Like I said, I have saved over 10 grand replacing various things around the house thanks to having one.
@@kittyglanz5979 Yeah I'd like to know too, because i keep hearing that these plans are a ripoff but I like to hear both sides too.
@kittyglanz5979 The one I have had for the past 10 years has been Cinch. It's like $65 a month with a $110 deductible and covers most things. I would recommend you all Google "top 10 home warranty companies" and compare features, benefits, and costs before making a decision on which one is right for you. But in general, I find having one completely necessary.
We bought one last July, we pd $75 to get the washer fixed this winter, then $75 to get the kitchen faucet water line fixed! Then the gas pack, 26 yrs old, couldn’t be fixed, they replaced it!
Cost about 1800 to us, they paid the rest!
We pd 600 for the yearly premium.
I buy all my cell phones refurbished unlocked from a company called Back Market. I save a fortune and the warranty is the same as a new phone and they offer a 4 or 5 month payment plan.
Happy Mom's Day!! I'm keeping a low budget for food so I can save for a future move (TBD) and use what I have, while doing a home declutter for downsize. Always love your book suggestions, will watch again for those titles. Blessings...
So interesting because on a couple of different podcasts people are doing exactly what you are doing. My best solution is I found a drive in climate controlled storage facility for $12 a month.
I have a 5 by 5 foot unit with braces on either side and a platform so it's actually 2 levels high and if I wanted to have a large enough unit for my bed and my couch (which would be about 10 by 5 that is not a typo)I choose the 10 foot wide door 5 feet deep and they cost $42 a month.
It makes it a lot easier to think about moving when I basically am already moved out to that storage unit.
Sounds fantastic
@@Joce123In California, the going rates for a 5x5 or 5x8 is no less than $120 month plus deposit.
@@Joce123 Wow those are some low prices! That's really doable.
@@jennyeagan1840 In CA also. I'd be surprised if rates are only $120 in my area...and reviews suggest increases can jump a lot. I will have to make a time limit if I get one, and weigh value of things vs. cost. Joce123 has a great deal!
Laura Linney shares my birthday!
$65 unspent is great!
How cool
I saw previews for The Miracle Club and watched for it to arrive in theaters (which is rare for me) and never saw it. Don't have Netflix, but I just looked on library site. Yup, the DVD is there. Thanks for the reminder.
Anytime
Just a hoping you had a lovely Mothers Day. I appreciate your book and movie recommendations. Thank you.
Thank you! You too!
That second book sounds like the Julia Roberts film Sleeping With The Enemy.
I loved that movie
The buffer/misc. spending slot in the monthly budget - I have to leave a reasonable unassigned $150 buffer in each month's budget because life happens. An example - anything that comes up unexpectedly that will cost more if not addressed immediately, is taken care right now, not later. On a more positive note, if something on the wish list shows up at a very low price - I will buy it from that buffer money. So far, keeping that buffer money free and floating in the budget, has worked well. This is entirely separate from my emergency funds, and sinking funds. I no longer expect myself to be "all knowing," about what tomorrow will bring. I give myself grace when "duh" moments arise.
I like that you a buffer
Happy Mother's Day to you and to all the other Mother's! We get more attention today than any other day. It was nice!

Happy Mother’s Day!
Same to you!
I am definitely staying out of the store as much as possible and using what I hav me on hand. If I go out and drive by a store that is when I will shop for the fill in items I truly need.
If there is a markdown on something I would use normally I will not hesitate to buy a few at that time so I am buying on sale items. I have also used the Flashfood app before I leave to go into town either to pick up my daughter from her after school activities or if I work that day. A doctors appointment might bring me to another town or side of town, so I make sure to plan my trips to maximize by mileage on my vehicle. It’s not only gas, it’s wear and tear as well. I challenge myself to think like my great grandmother might have thought about traveling to get goods. I am really interested in learning how to can foods. I think preserving a good sale in items we buy is a great way to save money.
That ap sounds helpful
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom I am not sure where Flashfood is available. I am from CT and it seems to be affiliated with Stop and Shop. I know Publix and Stop and Shop are related business wise. I am curious if it is offered in Publix stores maybe under another name?
Despite my best efforts I cant cut out of my budget....chocolate!
I hear you
I have to have my back deck rebuilt as my house just turned 20 and it is starting to fall apart. That will be a big job I'm saving for. Then I would like to get my bedroom flooring replaced. And I also want to replace my fridge and my stove. So lots of stuff I want to do and it's daunting. Will you one day, Money Mom, talk about your job as a project manager? That sounds interesting. Thanks!
Sure, be happy to
We also have a landline. We live in a rural area and need it for internet also sometimes the cell signal goes out.
That does make sense
We watched "The Miracle Club" a few weeks ago, and really enjoyed it. Laura Linney has been one of my favorites since her role in Ozarks.

My next home project is getting a home 😂
GP I always appreciate your comments, you have explained your unexpected changes in life. I know that I am not alone in wishing you the very, very best future. I spent several years working directly with people in your situation. My two cents, from that experience: If I was in your shoes, at your current age, I would try to identify a livable city that fit my needs and personality (this will be different for everyone - I am low key, I like a calm life, I need safe out door areas, clean water, and no snow, that's me), that has sufficient clean water, and a fairly high safety rating. I would apply for senior low-income housing in that city (often a one year wait, but may be much less due to your age, as your age puts you in a special group), join a supportive church, and transition to a city environment, either close to everything I would need, or an excellent bus system. There is a lot of "new" low-income housing for the growing number of seniors needing homes. These programs also offer either included utilities, or much reduced cost on utilities, free internet, low-cost cell phones, food assistance, etc. The formula for the rent is based on 35% of your income, leaving you the rest, along with what the programs also offer. This will raise you out of poverty. It is not safe to be isolated, out on rural land, scraping by. These programs are paid for by your tax dollars. It is time you benefit from them personally.. * This is working for others I know. These are not empty words coming out of the side of my mouth, without experience. * I have had older friends who had to go this route, and ended up being very happy, in nice, two-bedroom, one bath, one level apartments. Their neighbors have become supportive friends. Individually, they have really flourished now that they are no longer isolated, financially strapped, barely surviving. Please take this suggestion into consideration, knowing I wish you safety, security, and a situation where you will not be alone, and have support as you go forward with your amazing courage and energy. Philia, GP.
Thanks for the books suggestions. I put them on my TBR list.
Hope you enjoy it!
Happy Moms Day! Great video. Having an alternative phone to the cell phone is practicing good preparedness. With my current cell service, if the tower gets a glitch, I at least get the "emergency calls" button on my cell screen. I've wondered if that works in case of need. Luckily I haven't had the need.
That is awesome!
If Harley would stop eating my grocery budget would be great.

I just learned today that the battery lasts longer on your cellphone if you don't charge it to 100%.
I want to keep my cellphone for as long as long as I can .I do not want to have to pay for a new phone or battery?
I heard that too
We need a new gas pack, furnace-AC thing, an unexpected large dental bill, yup, good to have funds set aside!
We used our home warranty, great service, glad we had it because the gas pack was 26 yrs old!
Needed, already installed gas pack.
Wanted to” split units”, Omgosh! So expensive!!!!
Wonderful
I don't have a grocery budget bc I don't normally shop at the store. Why? And how? Why, bc I shop at my insurance catalog which provides me with food that is free....! And that may answer how? I don't have to bc I get my food for free and don't need to shop at the store....I don't drink milk bc I'm lactose intolerant....and don't eat eggs bc fhey bother me. And I don't eat cheese. So I don't have to go to the store....So that is how I'm able to save all of my food Stamps when I shop at Costco...so I can get a BIG trip at Costco.....So I'm happy with how I do it....😊😊😊
I’ve been wanting to put a picket fence around my small front yard for 2 years. I’m going to try to get someone to give an estimate on the cost. I need to get tile or some other floor covering for my small kitchen. I have several projects I’d like to do but will have to save towards the cost.
Very smart

I LOVED Wanna Know a Secret! Freida McFadden is great. I've read a lot of her books. Saving money has become an obsession for me. (weird I know). I have an auto transfer from my checking to savings every week and honestly I don't notice. My savings has grown a lot because of it. Slow and steady wins the race as they say. I've learned that small things add up. I am very frugal and I'm saving only for travel. I am finally starting to travel and let me say to anyone: do it now. Don't wait for anyone, don't wait for the "right time". None of those things ever come. Go now and enjoy it. See the world. It doesn't have to be super expensive. I regret not having started earlier. Carpe Diem. You never know what's around the corner. I'm stepping down from my soapbox now. It's really late here so I'm off to bed to dream about the places I want to go. 😃
Love this comment
I'm not giving up my newspaper subscription. I simply prefer reading the paper edition over the online version. AT&T has notified us that it plans to cease landline service in the future. I'll certainly miss it and the home-delivered newspaper when they disappear. After decades of careful money management (and waiting until age 70 for Social Security) we're not denying ourselves some simple pleasures -- and some larger ones, too. Happy Mother's Day, Dawn and Everyone!
That sounds good
Great share, Dawn. Are you able to write off the price of your phone services on your taxes sinces it is a requirement for your job? I would assume so. We used to have Verizon, but changed to AT&T a few years ago, because we were able to bundle it with our internet services.
Yes, partially
I'm going to great lengths to try to get the phone company to reinstall my home phone.
The last owners took out it out If the electricity goes out landline telephones still work.
Very smart
Saved money today by just getting the few things I absolutely needed from the grocery store. I spent nearly $100 less for the week by doing this. Also taking your lead and going to start utilizing all the food we have in our pantries to help save money, love this tip, thank u.
How wonderful
