That was fantastic Lawyerman, what great skills, that last lock you opened here only took 6 seconds, Amazing! Loving and learning from all of your videos, Thanks man.
As soon as I saw a whole bunch of locks, I knew what was coming! and that made me smile. same day same opening's ! I estimated 8 mins , brilliant . well done champ!!! :)
Nice job! I'd love to do one of these challenges myself. I've been picking for just over a month and I have a bag full of mostly unique lock Models. Most are Master Locks and 5 or 6 are mixed of Brinks, Ruger(regal) and some other generic model. I think it's 15 locks in total not counting the two practice locks which is a generic acrylic and a Sparrows cutaway + the Sparrows reload kit which allows me four additional keyed configs and any number of pin types. I can get through the pile of 15 locks in about 6 minutes as of last night, but I've picked each lock open countless times a piece with the exception of the Master Lock No. 230 which I finally SPPed last night!
Thanks. Good luck with your picking. Anything you can do to make picking the same locks fresh will definitely help your development... and adding the pressure of timing yourself, I am now discovering, is really a game changer!
Wow! Again with the impressive picking skills. I started picking while I was in college but dropped the hobby. I wasn't really good at it but was able to pick open cheap locks. I started picking again... what types of locks would you recommend for a beginner to start picking on? Thanks and keep up the good work!
Thanks. I would suggest starting on the garbage locks. I have hundreds of used ones that I bought on ebay, and I picked each of them many, many times. Then try repining some of them with spools and serrated pins... look for the high security pinning kit from CLK Supply. That will start you down the road to security pins. After that, American Padlocks are AWESOME teachers. You will not find a lock that gives you cleaner feedback on security pins, whick is great for learning. Spend LOTS of time with them. Good luck!
the title said 7 minutes it took you 7:02 that's false advertisement lol. amazing that was better than a NASCAR race my wife thought I lost my mind yelling at the phone come on 20 seconds left. wow thank you I like watching time picking hope to see more
if you really want to ratchet up the pressure, pick your neighbors lock in the middle of the night then run away! no cheating or running before the lock is opened! Hard mode: call the cops right before you start picking. Bonus points if you manage to gut and rekey the lock before getting away!
This video is from way back when the lock picking lawyer replied to almost all comments in the comment section. Nowadays, you are very very lucky to get a reply from the LPL on one of your comments.
I don't think you can embarrass yourself with your skills. I'm a n00b at lock picking and can't consistently open the one or two locks I have. I suspect it might be an operator issue, more than the lock actually be good. Nice work!
Thanks... I'll probably trade the locks away eventually. But for now, I'm going to put these into the practice rotation. I really like working on large groups of the same kind of lock. You learn quite a bit from that.
Have you run into a 6835 where the back pin feels stuck? Having that issue right now. Trying to figure out if it’s part of the lock or if someone repinned a lock that cannot be opened to mess with me. Thanks.
Ok I'll try those thanks. Also. The kit I bought the Eagles nest from Peterson, is that a good kit? Or do you know of any others that are better, or different tools that I need to add to it?
Hi Harry, Wow, you certainly didn't embarrass yourself, and to pick these under pressure like that is very impressive. By the way, does a finger on your right hand get a little tender? Or has the picking callous developed? (: -)) Regards, Brian.
Thanks... my middle finger on my right hand has a bit of a rough spot, but the real toll is in the tendons on my left forearm. That heavy tension comes at a cost. :-(
LockPickingLawyer do they still make an American Lock No 30. I gotOne today thats from 1994. But on theur website the aluminum padlocks all seem to be 1100
Hey question for you I'm trying to pick a Ace Hardware pad lock with security pins I believe they are serated pins, at least the first one I can see is. So I bought a Peterson Eagles nest pick set, and I've been trying to pick this lock with no success. Can you give me some tips, or at least a list of pad locks that I can get to practice on that have security pins, but aren't as hard? I can pretty much get through regular master lock locks with no issues if they have regular pins.
I know others will say differently, but I think Master 6835 and American 1100 locks are some of the best practice locks out there. Get several of each and mix them up. Never pick the same lock twice!
To the Lock pick lawyer "Great Job" The official time of open on that 16th lock was 7 min .42 lol! I slowed it down watched it about 20 times!!!!! Just saying!!!

Hi Questions hopefully you can help!! I have the gosu bronze colored tubular lock pick with no tension pin.The practice tubluar lock I have has the slot for the tension pin,can i still use this? Its seemed to work but now the slots on lock are no longer lined up so key wont go in. I cant get it lined with tool ,trying to open it counter clockwise is that correct? I might have to use a tension wrench with a hook to pick this back to proper position can this work? I briefly thought about a 5 lb hammer!!! Thanks
You need to pick it back to the center position before the key will work again. If you are unable to pick it back to center, file the lug off one of your keys (if you have a spare), and that should do the trick.
You'll get it eventually. As long as you don't have one of those Goso pick sets from Amazon--those are complete garbage. What models are the Master Locks if you have that info available? I have 10 different models of Master Locks, so I would be more than happy to offer any tips and advice I have from my own experience. I've only been picking locks for just over a month, but I probably pick locks for a good 4 to 7 hours a day.--I pick locks around 3 hours in the evening at home and throughout the day at my job to keep my hands busy while on conference calls, reading engineering documentation, etc., otherwise, I have this awful habit of chewing my fingers real bad.
I have a youtube channel full of picking locks with those goso picks. wouldnt advocated buying them but if people cant open those locks the goso picks arent the problem.
Bored Lock picker I get what you are saying, but a lot of those Goso picks are awfule. The quality also varies set to set. The half diamond in my set is more like 1/5 diamond. They are also way to fat for a lot of keyways. I will look more at this tomorrow. Going to sleep.
Well done, you're the ace, no doubt, a real pro! But please do title a video like this "16 Padlock Pick Challenge, Can I Do It?" rather than telling us in the title that you _did_ do it. Still interesting to watch though but the only tension was in your tool! 💥💨💯💨😄
